5-star Alabama commit visiting UGA after Crimson Tide’s embarrassing loss

Five-star cornerback recruit, Alabama football commit is visiting Georgia the week after Bama’s loss to Vandy

Five-star cornerback recruit Dijon Lee has been committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide since June 2024. However, Lee is keeping his options open and plans to visit the Georgia Bulldogs for the Mississippi State game on Oct. 12. His visit to Georgia comes the week after Alabama suffered an embarrassing loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Lee originally committed to Alabama over Georgia, Washington, and Texas A&M. The five-star defensive back prospect is a member of the class of 2025.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound cornerback plays high school football for Mission Viejo High School in Mission, Viejo, California. Lee is ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the senior class and the fourth-ranked cornerback. He’s the top-ranked recruit in California in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Georgia has been among the best schools in the country in recruiting elite secondary talent, but so has Alabama. The Crimson Tide remain aggressive on the recruiting trail under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. In fact, Alabama currently has the second-best recruiting class in the country in the 2025 cycle.

Georgia has a strong pitch to defensive back prospects, but faces a challenge in convincing Dijon Lee to flip. Alabama already beat Georgia this season and has a lot of early playing time to offer to young defensive backs.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football currently have 22 total commitments in the class of 2025. Georgia has the No. 5 recruiting class in the country.

Texas vs ‘Bama: Roll Tide Wire talks Jalen Milroe, expectations for Week 2

Alabama writer shares thoughts on Jalen Milroe, Alabama in 2023 and Week 2 matchup with Texas.

The Alabama Crimson Tide plays host to the Texas Longhorns in 2023. It has potential to be the game of the year.

Last season, each team traded punches until the final whistle with the Crimson Tide leaving victorious. Alabama’s 20-19 win was one of the more confounding performances of the year for both teams. It led many to conclude either the Tide was falling off a cliff or Quinn Ewers was leading Texas to prominence.

In reality, neither of those things happened. The game stood alone as a singular performance that had little bearing on the remainder of the season.

To get a fuller picture on this year’s pivotal matchup, I talked with Stacey Blackwood of Roll Tide Wire to get more insight into the matchup.

UGA football offers 5-star Alabama commit

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to class of 2025 Alabama wide receiver commitment Ryan Williams

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams. Williams is a member of the class of 2025. He plays high school football for Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama.

Kirby Smart and Georgia join Georgia Tech, Colorado and Miami in offering the five-star Alabama commit. Williams is ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the class of 2025. He’s the sixth-ranked receiver and the fourth-ranked recruit in Alabama.

The 6-foot, 155-pound receiver has excellent speed and plays multiple positions in high school. Williams’ versatility is something college coaches love.

It will be tough to get the five-star wide receiver to flip his commitment. Alabama is a very stable program, and the Crimson Tide consistently sign elite recruiting classes.

Nick Saban and Alabama finished with the No. 1 class of 2023 in the nation. Georgia did not finish far behind. The Bulldogs reeled in the second-ranked class of 2023.

The Saraland standout has excellent acceleration and a shifty juke move. Williams is a player that need touches because he is so dynamic in the open field.

He is the fourth-ranked running back prospect in the class of 2023 and is the No. 50 recruit in the country. Haynes is not far from being ranked as a five-star prospect.

Justice Haynes, is the son of former Georgia Bulldog running back Verron Haynes, he previously played high school football for Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia. Haynes now plays for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Buford is one of the top high school football programs in the state.

Verron Haynes is a famous figure in University of Georgia football history for his last-minute receiving touchdown in the Hobnail Boot game, which gave Mark Richt and UGA a huge win over sixth-ranked Tennessee in 2001.

Justice Haynes is making his own name. As a junior in high school, he scored 31 total touchdowns and ran for an incredible 2,475 yards.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back was also considering USC and Ohio State. Justice Haynes has committed to the 2023 Under Armour All-American Game. Haynes received his scholarship offer from UGA in Oct. 2020.

Now, Kirby Smart and Georgia football will have to look for another running back to commit to the program in the class of 2023. The Bulldogs are an attractive destination for running backs, but need to find a new top target in the rising senior class or can try to flip Haynes.
