Injury update on UGA football running back Roderick Robinson

UGA football coach Kirby Smart updates the status of freshman running back Roderick Robinson.

Georgia Bulldogs true freshman Roderick Robinson is looking unlikely to play against Vanderbilt in Week 7. Robinson is making progress as he returns from an ankle injury, but he is still not practicing.

Georgia is battling a few injuries in the backfield. Georgia has a deep running backs room, but several Bulldog running backs have already missed significant action this season.

Senior running back Kendall Milton received carries for the first time since the South Carolina game against Kentucky. Milton totaled eight carries for 47 yards and scored one touchdown in Georgia’s 51-13 win over the Wildcats.

Georgia is already missing sophomore running back Branson Robinson for the season in 2023. Robinson suffered a knee injury in preseason practice.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart notes that Roderick Robinson is doubtful for the Vanderbilt game, but is nearing a return.

He is getting closer. Dry land running, weight bearing, running, but doubtful for this game. He is closer. He’s out there running around, but he’s not practicing with us.

Robinson has 15 carries for 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season. The freshman’s progress is a good sign that he will be healthy and good to go for the Florida game on Oct. 28 after Georgia’s bye week.

The Georgia Bulldogs are battling a few injuries at running back. Georgia has a deep running backs room, but several Bulldog running backs have already missed significant action this season.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart updated senior running back Kendall Milton’s status ahead of the UAB game. Milton has been fighting a knee injury.

Kendall’s been in rehab. He’s been rehabbing and working.

I’m still holding out hope that Kendall will be able to, but I can’t say that because he has not practiced yet.

Georgia is already missing sophomore running back Branson Robinson for the season in 2023. Robinson suffered a knee injury in preseason practice.

Additionally, true freshman Roderick Robinson is looking unlikely to play against UAB.

Roderick hasn’t been able to practice with us. I’m hoping that we can get them back. It looks doubtful that Roderick is going to be able to play this week.

Robinson has 15 carries for 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns this season.

Georgia got a big boost against South Carolina with the return of running back Daijun Edwards. Edwards, who missed Georgia’s first two games with an MCL injury, ran for over 100 yards in Georgia’s 24-14 win over the Gamecocks.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart calls the Bulldogs’ injury list, “the longest injury list weโ€™ve ever had.”

Looking at Georgia’s running back group after Branson Robinson’s injury

What is next for Georgia’s running back group after Branson Robinson’s season-ending injury

Georgia Bulldogs running back Branson Robinson is out for the year in a tough blow to Georgia’s running backs room. The Bulldogs will need to rely on some less experienced options and perhaps even a few walk-ons following Robinson’s devastating injury.

To make matters tougher on Georgia’s rushing attack, the Bulldogs are starting quarterback Carson Beck, who does not have as much mobility as Stetson Bennett did. Fortunately, Georgia returns an experienced and talented offensive line that should do a great job of paving the way for any running back.

Georgia adds another great RB recruit with Mater Dei’s Nate Frazier

they have an especially rich history with great running backs.

These days Georgia is recruiting all the best prospects for every position, including theย top quarterback in this class. However, they have an especially rich history with great running backs. This past weekend the Bulldogs added yet another potential star to the future of their backfield.

Here’s how Mater Dei (Calif.) four-star running back Nate Frazier announced his commitment to Georgia – echoing head football coach Kirby Smart’s Go Dawgs message on Twitter.

Frazier (5-foot-11, 208 pounds) hadย offers from 23 other schools, including Alabama, Oregon, Auburn, Cal, Colorado, Miami, Penn State and USC.

Asked why he picked the Bulldogs, Frazier made it clear he’s aware of their awesome tradition at running back. Here’s what heย told Chad Simmons of On3ย about his commitment.

“If you look at the history of Georgia with their two backfield players like Sony Michel, Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb and D’Andre Swift, all of those guys were around playing with each other at the same time. They all made it to the NFL so if you look at that closely and when they played, if you’re a good player and you go to Georgia, you’re going to play…”

Going by the 247Sports composite rankings, Frazier is No. 4 among running backs in his class, also No. 4 overall in the state of Georgia and No. 51 nationally. However, both On3 and Rivals have him ranked first at his position.

As for the big picture, Georgia remains No. 1 in the nation by a wide margin in the 2024 recruiting rankings.

The former Dawson County standout is expected to be a key player in practice and could have several opportunities in games this fall. Clark had a career-high seven carries for 35 yards in the national championship against TCU.

Clark has two years of eligibility remaining. Georgia’s projected running back room for the fall features Kendall Milton, Branson Robinson and Daijun Edwards. Cash Jones, Roderick Robinson, and Andrew Paul will also compete with Sevaughn Clark for carries.

UGA freshman RB out for the season with torn ACL

Who has to step up following the injury to freshman RB Andrew Paul?

Georgia Bulldogs true freshman running back Andrew Paul is expected to take a redshirt during the 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL. Paul suffered the unfortunate injury during Georgia’s second fall scrimmage.

Now, Georgia will rely more heavily on freshman running back Branson Robinson. The Bulldogs are hoping that junior running back Kendall Milton can heal up ahead of the season opener against the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 3. Milton has missed practice time with a hamstring injury that is not too serious.

Georgia has lost some depth at offensive skill positions this offseason and is a little banged up at wide receiver and running back. Fortunately, Georgia has excellent depth in the backfield with Kenny McIntosh and Daijun Edwards as other reliable options at the position.

Andrew Paul is a former three-star running back recruit. He played high school football for Parish Episcopal in Dallas, Texas.

The Parish Episcopal standout had 2,612 rushing yards and 44 total touchdowns in his senior high school season.

Andrew Paul was a late signing in Georgia’s class of 2022. Interestingly, Georgia will face Oregon freshman running back Jordan James, who flipped his commitment from Georgia to Oregon, in the season opener. James was a four-star recruit.

Georgia RB coach Dell McGee updates backfieldโ€™s progress

Dell McGee breaks down Georgia’s 2022 backfield…

Georgia football is currently in fall camp preparing to defend their national title.

With three weeks till the Bulldogs tee it up versus Oregon in Atlanta for the Chickfila Kickoff game, there are questions surrounding the Dawgs’ running back room.

Talent is not the question here, but rather how upperclassmen like Kenny McIntosh, Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards take over for Zamir White and James Cook, who are preparing for their rookie seasons in the NFL.

Running backs coach Dell McGee expanded on the backfield to the media earlier this week.

UGA legacy, elite RB makes surprising commitment

Elite running back Justice Haynes has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs. What’s next for UGA?

Elite running back Justice Haynes has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs. Haynes is ranked as a four-star recruit and is the third-ranked recruit in Georgia.

He is the fourth-ranked running back prospect in the class of 2023 and is the No. 50 recruit in the country. Haynes is not far from being ranked as a five-star prospect.

Justice Haynes, is the son of former Georgia Bulldog running back Verron Haynes, he previously played high school football for Blessed Trinity Catholic in Roswell, Georgia. Haynes now plays for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Buford is one of the top high school football programs in the state.

Verron Haynes is a famous figure in University of Georgia football history for his last-minute receiving touchdown in the Hobnail Boot game, which gave Mark Richt and UGA a huge win over sixth-ranked Tennessee in 2001.

Justice Haynes is making his own name. As a junior in high school, he scored 31 total touchdowns and ran for an incredible 2,475 yards.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back was also considering USC and Ohio State. Justice Haynes has committed to the 2023 Under Armour All-American Game. Haynes received his scholarship offer from UGA in Oct. 2020.

Now, Kirby Smart and Georgia football will have to look for another running back to commit to the program in the class of 2023. The Bulldogs are an attractive destination for running backs, but need to find a new top target in the rising senior class or can try to flip Haynes.

Haynes announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide via Twitter:
