The Wisconsin Badgers were not in action this weekend after their game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers was canceled due to rising COVID-19 positives within the Badger football program.

Although they didn’t play yesterday, Paul Chryst and his team stayed put at No. 11 in the newest Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Other Big Ten teams in the rankings are Ohio State at No. 3, Indiana at No. 13 and Michigan at No. 25.

As seen in these rankings and others around the college football world, the craziness and upsets from the first two weeks of the Big Ten season have seen the Badgers emerge as the clear No. 2 team in the conference behind the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Paul Chryst and his team will be back in action on Saturday against the Purdue Boilermakers, though that game is still in question with Wisconsin continuing to announce more positive COVID-19 tests.

When they do return to the field the team will look to continue their impressive start to the 2020 season and continue their rise in the national rankings.

Amway Coaches Poll has no change for Notre Dame ahead of Clemson

No change at the top of the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports sets up a top 5 matchup between Notre Dame and Clemson.

Every team in front of the Irish won yesterday, with Alabama and Ohio State getting fairly easy wins, Clemson had to mount a comeback without star quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Backup D.J. Uiagalelei was up to the task, bringing the Tigers back from an 18-point deficit and ultimately beating upset minded Boston College, 34-28 in Death Valley.

The biggest news came after the game, as Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney announced that Lawrence will miss this coming weeks game against Notre Dame.

The matchup in South Bend will still be one of the most anticipated games of the year, if not the most, even without the projected number one overall draft pick participating. With the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports being released today, the top 5 contest has been set. No. 1 Clemson travels to No. 4 Notre Dame.

Plenty of hype for this contest, ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance and the nations eyes will be glued to their televisions Saturday night.

Around the ACC, No. 15 North Carolina was the biggest loser, as Virginia upset the Tar Heels at home 44-41. Every other game in the conference was won by the favorite, so seeing UNC tumble to No. 24 isn’t surprising.

Here is the updated Amway Coaches Poll, with the ACC teams in bold, and last weeks ranking in parenthesis.

Ohio State moves into top 3 in latest Amway Coaches Poll

The first Amway Coaches Poll since Big Ten football action is out, and as we expected, Ohio State moved up towards the top. But how far?

Well that’s more like it.

After it appeared many of the voters in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports waited for Ohio State to put a game on tape, the Buckeyes have now moved up a couple of spots to No. 3 in the latest release.

It’s still a spot below the initial preseason rankings, but at least the two teams ahead of Ohio State are perceived to be in the same ballpark. Clemson remains No. 1, followed by Alabama at No. 2. Behind those three teams are Notre Dame (4), Georgia (5), Oklahoma State (6), Cincinnati (7), Texas A&M (8), Florida (9), and BYU (10) rounding out the top ten.

There’s no denying that Ohio State looked like one of the best teams in the country through the second half against Nebraska. It was a slow start, but the Buckeyes seemed to figure it all out after being up just 17-14 at halftime. OSU outscored the ‘Huskers 35-3 during the last twenty minutes to win going away and now prepares to play Penn State next week in a prime time affair.

Notre Dame drops in latest Amway Coaches Poll

Notre Dame played up to their ranking but in the latest Amway Coaches Poll they dropped. Find out where the Irish are ranked now.

That was fun last night, wasn’t it? The Irish finally gave the nation no reason to complain about their top 3 ranking, but was it enough for them to stay in that spot?

Well, the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports  showed that it wasn’t. The Irish fell one spot to No. 4, but this shouldn’t come as a surprise. In all honestly, this probably is a week late, but with Ohio State getting a fairly impressive win over Nebraska in their season opener, the Buckeyes jumped the Irish and Georgia.

Around the ACC, Clemson started off slow but ultimately beat Syracuse at home, North Carolina beat up North Carolina State in the only ranked matchup in the conference, while Miami, FL escaped with a win over Virginia. Wake Forest upset Virginia Tech, so movement for some of the ACC teams wasn’t surprising at all.
