Alabama’s Tyler Booker speaks to relationship with Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Tyler Booker’s leadership exemplified when asked about Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team completed their 13th spring practice on Tuesday afternoon from Tuscaloosa leading up to the annual A-Day Game which will take place this Saturday, April 13 from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Following Tuesday’s events, Crimson Tide players were made available to the media, including veteran offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

Booker was asked about Washington transfer center, Parker Brailsford who followed Coach DeBoer from Seattle to Tuscaloosa. Despite just arriving in January, Brailsford has spent a large portion of the spring away from the team for what can be described as personal reasons.

When asked about his relationship with Brailsford, Booker responded like a true leader.

“I love that guy,” Booker said. “That’s my brother. Just being able to be there for him in a time like this is very crucial. I told him whatever he needs, I’m there for him. He’s a brother now. He’s part of this Alabama brotherhood. I’ll treat him as such.”

The exact reason for Brailsford’s absence has not been released to the public but Coach DeBoer did speak on the young man following this past weekend’s scrimmage.

“Parker’s just going through some non-football related things,” DeBoer said. “He’s gonna be with us. He’s working out with our strength staff and done a great job there. He’s never done anything wrong. It’s nothing like that. He’s working hard. He’s gonna be ready to go here sooner than later. Just taking it day by day.”

While a timetable has not been set for Brailsford to make his return, it appears he will have to battle James Brockermeyer as the anchor of the Alabama offensive line.

Before kickoff in a couple of hours, let’s look at the rundown of everything you need to know in order to catch all the action at Alabama’s Golden Flake A-Day game!

Everything Nick Saban said following Alabama’s final practice before A-Day

“I think the game should be fun. I think people should have fun competing.”

The Alabama football team completed their final practice of spring 2023 on Thursday and the spring activities will conclude on Saturday at the annual A-Day game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. This will be the first and only glance that fans will get to see of what the 2023 Crimson Tide could potentially look like before the fall.

There are plenty of question marks and position battles going on in Tuscaloosa and Saturday will be a great opportunity for players to stand out in front of the coaches and fans.

Following Thursday’s practice, Alabama head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] would speak to the media one last time before A-Day. Here is everything coach Saban had to say!

Alabama’s A-Day game ranked among this season’s most intriguing spring games

The competition between Jalen Milroe and Ty Simspon at quarterback makes Alabama’s A-Day game among the most intriguing this season.

We are now just a little under three weeks away from [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team concluding spring practice with the annual A-Day game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

As is the case with every new season, the Crimson Tide fan base is ready to see the next crop of talent take the field for the Tide.

247Sports article written by Will Backus listed the spring games with the most interest in 2023 and Alabama’s A-Day game made the cut.

Backus had the following to say about the Crimson Tide’s upcoming scrimmage.

“Like Ohio State, Alabama has a gaping hole to fill at the quarterback position. If Stroud is not first off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft, then Bryce Young probably will be. He won a Heisman Trophy while leading the Crimson Tide to 23 wins, a College Football Playoff appearance and an SEC championship. Young actually missed one game last season, which allowed fans to see one of his potential replacements in Jalen Milroe, who threw for three touchdowns and one interception but looked far from a complete product. Seeing how he has progressed will be key in the spring game. “A-Day” will also provide a look at redshirt freshman Ty Simpson, a former five-star prospect that could very well push Milroe for the job.”

While the battle between Milroe and Simpson will certainly highlight the spring game, there are plenty of other position battles that Alabama fans should monitor over the coming weeks. Offensive line, linebacker, and defensive backs are some of the other key position groups that will headline the A-Day game.

A-Day is scheduled for April 22 at 2:00 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Major takeaways from Alabama Football’s A-Day spring game

Major takeaways from Alabama Football’s A-Day spring game

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team concluded their spring activities with the annual A-Day game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Tide battled the rainy weather as the White team defeated the Crimson team 25-7.

This spring game allowed for the public to see how the Crimson Tide football team currently looks, as fans and media members will have to wait until early September to see the final product hit the field against Utah State in the season-opening contest.

Some names were expectedly called often, while others seemingly appeared out of nowhere to steal the show.

Aside from a handful of plays, the defense dominated the day which didn’t come as too much of a surprise. Alabama returns a wealth of experienced talent on the defensive side of the ball, while the offense is trying to replace some of its offensive weapons from the 2021 season.

Let’s take a look at some of the major takeaways from Alabama’s A-Day game.

The Crimson team is finally on the board in the 2022 A-Day game as Georgia Tech running back transfer Jahmyr Gibbs exploded for a 73-yard touchdown run.

Although Brian Robinson Jr. had a fantastic senior season in 2021, Alabama lacked certain explosiveness from the running back position but it looks like those problems have been erased by Gibbs.

With the third quarter nearly wrapped up, the White team leads the Crimson team 19-7.

WATCH: Jalen Milroe finds Christian Leary for a 52-yard TD

After the defenses mostly stymied the Alabama offenses to start the 2022 A-Day, backup quarterback Jalen Milore find reserve wide receiver Christian Leary for a 52-yard touchdown to give the white team a 13-0 lead.

Despite throwing a pick in the first quarter, Milroe has looked the part of an SEC-caliber quarterback.

Leary made some plays for the Alabama offense in 2021 and looks to play a larger role here in 2022. His play today is certainly helping his cause.

Watch below as Milroe finds Leary deep.

5 defensive players Alabama fans need to watch during A-Day

5 defensive players Alabama fans need to watch during A-Day

Alabama’s annual A-Day game is set to kick off on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

There is plenty of talent both young and old to be excited about if you are a ‘Bama fan, and it will also be our first opportunity of the spring to see this year’s version of the Tide.

In his Thursday press conference leading up to A-Day, head coach Nick Saban said the format for the scrimmage would be the first-team offense against the first-team defense and the second-team offense against the second-team defense. With this format, fans will get to experience a more game-like scenario with good on good.

Leading up to the start of A-Day, I wanted to sit down and give fans a handful of players from each side of the ball that I believe could make an impact during the scrimmage. I want fans to keep in mind that these are players that fans have not seen make a tremendous impact yet for the Crimson Tide, but could on Saturday and during the 2022 season.

Yesterday we looked at the offensive players, today we will look at the defensive side of the ball.
