Kalen DeBoer provides the latest on Parker Brailsford

Positive news for Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team wrapped up spring activities this past weekend with the annual A-Day Game from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

One missing piece that took Crimson Tide fans off guard this spring was Washington transfer center [autotag]Parker Brailsford[/autotag] who joined Kalen DeBoer in Tuscaloosa in January.

On Thursday while making an appearance on “The Next Round”, Coach DeBoer was asked about Brailsford and would provide a positive update on one of the most talented interior offensive linemen in college football.

“He’ll be back,” DeBoer said. “He’s going through workouts. He’s been working out with our strength staff. He’s back. He never left us. He’s just back with us. I know he wasn’t practicing. But, he’ll be full-go workouts this summer. It wasn’t ever really about wanting to leave or go somewhere. He was just working through some things specific to him.

“Again, it was not anything where he ever got in trouble. It’s nothing like that. He’s a great young man, a great football player. He played both center, and he actually started the last season at guard for us the first few games until some injuries happened. So, he’s very versatile.”

With Brailsford back in the fold heading into the offseason workouts, it will provide Alabama with quality depth on the interior of the offensive line which is already a strength of the team with the likes of Tyler Booker and Jaeden Roberts.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to monitor the status of Brailsford throughout the offseason.

Alabama’s Tyler Booker speaks to relationship with Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Tyler Booker’s leadership exemplified when asked about Washington transfer Parker Brailsford

Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team completed their 13th spring practice on Tuesday afternoon from Tuscaloosa leading up to the annual A-Day Game which will take place this Saturday, April 13 from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Following Tuesday’s events, Crimson Tide players were made available to the media, including veteran offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

Booker was asked about Washington transfer center, Parker Brailsford who followed Coach DeBoer from Seattle to Tuscaloosa. Despite just arriving in January, Brailsford has spent a large portion of the spring away from the team for what can be described as personal reasons.

When asked about his relationship with Brailsford, Booker responded like a true leader.

“I love that guy,” Booker said. “That’s my brother. Just being able to be there for him in a time like this is very crucial. I told him whatever he needs, I’m there for him. He’s a brother now. He’s part of this Alabama brotherhood. I’ll treat him as such.”

The exact reason for Brailsford’s absence has not been released to the public but Coach DeBoer did speak on the young man following this past weekend’s scrimmage.

“Parker’s just going through some non-football related things,” DeBoer said. “He’s gonna be with us. He’s working out with our strength staff and done a great job there. He’s never done anything wrong. It’s nothing like that. He’s working hard. He’s gonna be ready to go here sooner than later. Just taking it day by day.”

While a timetable has not been set for Brailsford to make his return, it appears he will have to battle James Brockermeyer as the anchor of the Alabama offensive line.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the progress of the Crimson Tide as spring football continues.

Alabama football set to have one of the most dominant O-Line’s in CFB next year

Alabama football projected to have one of the best lines in CFB in 2024 per PFF College

As everyone already knows, things in Tuscaloosa are going to look much different this fall with the legendary [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] no longer on the sideline. Despite all of the changes coming to the football program in 2024, one thing that will not change is winning.

Alabama’s new head coach [autotag]Kalen DeBoer[/autotag] is already one of the three or four best coaches in the sport as he has posted a 25-3 record over the past two years with a national championship appearance, a Sugar Bowl victory and a Pac-12 title with the Washington Huskies. Now, with the resources available to him in the SEC, it will be fun to see what he can do.

With Saban’s departure, there was of course going to be some roster turnover and coaching changes. However, things shook out as well as they probably could have as DeBoer was able to assemble an outstanding staff. It certainly helps that QB [autotag]Jalen Milroe[/autotag] is staying in town and has a solid offensive line in front of him. The pieces to the puzzle are there.

In fact, Alabama’s offensive line may be one of the best units in all of college football – specifically on the interior. [autotag]Tyler Booker[/autotag] and [autotag]Jaeden Roberts[/autotag] were both key contributors for the Tide as Guard’s in 2023, so it is massive to get them back. The addition of C [autotag]Parker Brailsford[/autotag] from Washington is the one that Alabama fans are excited about after some major snapping woes a season ago. A great offensive line and Heisman candidate quarterback alone tells me the Tide will be in the thick of the Playoff hunt in 2024.

Alabama lands two Washington transfers during recruiting weekend

Alabama lands two Washington transfers during recruiting weekend.

In what was likely the first big recruiting weekend of the Kalen DeBoer era at Alabama this past weekend, the Crimson Tide landed a pair of commitments from two players, Parker Brailsford and Germie Bernard.

Both Brailsford and Bernard had previously entered the transfer portal last week, with both also having played under DeBoer at Washington.

Brailsford, who is rated by 247Sports as the top interior offensive lineman in the transfer portal this offseason, started along the Huskies offensive line this past season, with a majority of those starts coming at center. An All-Pac-12 Second Team selection, Brailsford is now the likely favorite to start at center for Alabama in 2024, as prior starter Seth McLaughlin transferred to Ohio State earlier this offseason.

Bernard is coming off a breakout 2023 season in what was his first with the Huskies, as the wide receiver transferred from Michigan State after the 2022 campaign. The wideout had 34 receptions for 419 yards and two touchdowns a year ago, while also rushing for 43 yards and two more scores on 13 attempts.

In addition to those numbers, Bernard also saw time on special teams this past season, averaging 23.3 yards per return on 10 kickoff returns. Bernard also returned three punts for 43 yards.

Brailsford and Bernard are the second and third Washington transfers to make their way to Tuscaloosa since DeBoer was named head coach, joining quarterback Austin Mack.

Alabama lands commitment from Washington transfer OL Parker Brailsford

Alabama’s offensive line room received a huge boost on Saturday night. Washington transfer offensive lineman Parker Brailsford announced that he was transferring to the Crimson Tide.

The Alabama football program received some big-time news on Saturday night. Washington transfer offensive lineman Parker Brailsford announced that he was transferring to Alabama.

Brailsford, an Arizona native, spent two seasons in Seattle. During the 2023 season, Brailsford made 15 starts for the Huskies. He was a part of an offensive line unit that won the 2023 Joe Moore Award. The award recognizes the top offensive line unit in college football.

Brailsford appears to be the heavy favorite to be Alabama’s starting center for the 2024 season. 13 of his 15 starts this past season came at the center position.

Interestingly enough, Brailsford will join former offensive line coach Scott Huff in Tuscaloosa. The two will be instrumental in helping the offensive line thrive during the 2024 season.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest news regarding the Alabama football program.

Washington IOL Parker Brailsford set to take official visit to Alabama

Washington interior offensive lineman Parker Brailsford will be taking an official visit to Alabama this weekend. Brailsford spent the past two seasons at Washington.

According to BamaOnLine, Washington interior offensive lineman Parker Brailsford will be taking an official visit to Alabama this weekend. Brailsford will be one of four official visitors on campus this weekend. He joins 2024 edge rusher Noah Carter, 2024 wide receiver Ryan Williams, and Washington cornerback transfer Jabbar Muhammad.

Brailsford was a part of an offensive line unit that won the 2023 Joe Moore Award. He started in all 15 games for the Huskies this past season. The Arizona native made two starts at right guard and 13 starts at the center position.

Following the season, Brailsford was named an All-PAC-12 Second Team selection. It is also worth noting that he was a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Award.

Alabama has lost multiple offensive linemen to the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. One of which included former Alabama starting center Seth McLaughlin. Adding Brailsford could be viewed as an upgrade considering he was a part of a Huskies offensive line that won the most prestigious award given to a specific offensive line unit, the Joe Moore Award.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest news regarding the Alabama football program and its involvement in the NCAA transfer portal.

Addressing the 362-pound problem Washington will face in Sugar Bowl

Washington should have more difficulty blocking this year’s defensive tackle duo.

The Washington Huskies will have a 362 pound problem on their hands on Jan. 1. The team will have to protect its backfield against new-and-improved Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat.

We consistently mention Sweat as a matchup the Longhorns’ next opponent will need to neutralize. He just happens to be a matchup problem more weeks than not.

What advantage does the 362-pounder have over Washington’s well under 300-pound freshman center Parker Brailsford? Aside from size and strength, Sweat has several years of experience in the college game. With that, he’s had several years to perfect technique and leverage and create problems for linemen of various size.

Sweat won’t only face Brailsford in the Sugar Bowl matchup, but his presence will be felt while he is on the field. Fellow defensive linemen Byron Murphy, Barryl Sorrell and Ethan Burke all stand to benefit from the attention he will command.

Texas will look to capitalize on Sweat’s matchup advantages in the College Football Playoff.

Michigan State Football offers 3-star OG Parker Brailsford

Michigan State has offered 3-star 2022 offensive guard Parker Brailsford out of Arizona.

[jwplayer s7XWZWNR]

Earlier this week, Michigan State Football and head coach Mel Tucker offered a top-50 offensive guard in the 2022 class in Scottsdale, Arizona’s Parker Brailsford. Brailsford announced the offer on social media on Monday.

Brailsford, who currently attends Saguaro High School, is 247Sports‘ No. 20 ranked player in the state of Arizona and their No. 42 ranked offensive guard for the 2022 class. For those wondering, Brailsford is 6’2″, so, while not a massive lineman as we’ve seen Tucker has a taste for recruiting, he is a big boy at 265 pounds.

The recruitment for Brailsford has only just started to pick up steam, with offers thus far only coming from USC, Northern Arizona, New Mexico and now Michigan State.
