NFL Network to televise Eagles Week 2 preseason matchup vs. the Browns

NFL Network to nationally televise the Philadelphia Eagles Week 2 preseason matchup vs. the Cleveland Browns

The Eagles will open up the 2022 NFL regular season on the road against the Detroit Lions, but they’ll play three preseason contests while cutting the roster down from 90 players to 53.

Philadelphia will face the Jets, Browns, and Dolphins during training camp, as NFL.com just announced that their Week 2 matchup against the Browns will be nationally televised on NFL Network.

NFL Network’s Week 2 preseason live schedule will conclude on Sunday, August 21 with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. ET with the Browns hosting the Eagles and the New York Giants hosting the Cincinnati Bengals at 7 p.m. ET.

Philadelphia will participate in joint practices during their trip to Cleveland, so the expectation is that most of the reserves and bubble players will see the bulk of the snaps, with Nick Sirianni choosing to focus on the practice sessions for his starters and key reserves.

Ranking the Bills’ best prime-time games in 2022

Ranking the #Bills’ best prime-time games in 2022:

Since the Buffalo Bills’ emergence as a true NFL title contender, we’ve seen a growing trend each year: More prime-time games.

When the league released Buffalo’s 2022 schedule, we saw five prime-time games, but truly there were six. The NFL does not consider Thanksgiving Day games as feature matchups, but they sure are fun so we’ll toss that one in here, too.

With that, here’s a ranking of the Bills’ upcoming prime-time matchups in 2022:

3 potential trap games for the Bills during the 2022 NFL season

3 potential trap games for the #Bills during the 2022 NFL season:

The Buffalo Bills are poised for a promising 2022 NFL season.

The team enters the offseason as the Super Bowl favorite while also being tied for the highest over/under total in terms of wins.

Still, there’s always a possibility of a slip up.

With that, here are three potential trap games for the Bills in their 2022 schedule:

2022 NFL schedule: Bills won’t face any well-rested opponents

The #Bills have an advantage in their 2022 schedule:

You cannot say the NFL schedule makers have something against the Buffalo Bills in 2022.

Counting their Thanksgiving Day contest, the Bills have six games already slated for a prime-time kickoff slot next season.

Digging a bit deeper, there are other benefits that were giving to Buffalo as well. They involve rest.

The way the cards ended up falling for the Bills, Buffalo has a key edge many other teams do not have: At no point in 2022 do the Bills face an opponent that had a bye the week before.

The Bills have their own bye in Week 7. The current way the NFL schedules byes, they appear from Week 6 to 14. However, of all Buffalo’s opponents in that range, no one has the week off before taking on the Bills.

This also helped the Bills win the league’s “rest differential” battle.

According to ESPN, Buffalo has a plus-13 rest-day difference as compared to their opponents next season. The Detroit Lions (+11) and Denver Broncos (+9) are the next closest.

On the flip side, a few Bills opponents for next year appear on the other end of the spectrum.

The Green Bay Packers have the worst differential in this area at minus-13. The Houston Texans and Buffalo’s AFC East rival, the New England Patriots, both clock in at minus-10.

In other words, rest, or lack thereof, will be no excuse for the Bills in 2022.

The Atlanta Falcons‘ front office made some tough but necessary moves over the offseason, and fans are excited to see what the next chapter has in store.

With new starters at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, linebacker and cornerback, there’s a real sense of unpredictability surrounding this year’s team. Regardless of the final record, it’s sure to be an interesting season in Atlanta.

The NFL released its 2022 schedule last week, and we’ve ranked the Falcons’ top five games.

2022 NFL schedule: Bills-Chiefs named among ‘best revenge games’

2022 NFL schedule: #Bills-#Chiefs named among ‘best revenge games’

Over the past few years, this game has started become one of the most-anticipated contests in the NFL: The Buffalo Bills vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.

The next time these two faceoff it’ll be Buffalo visiting Kansas City. That being the site of the last time these two played.

That game is remembered as “13 seconds” for how it ended–and how it was not in favor of the Bills.

But if you’re looking for a good spin zone, now this rematch, which will occur in Week 6, landed on the list of the NFL’s best “revenge games” to come in 2022 by our friends at Touchdown Wire.

Here’s why via analyst Doug Farrar:

It was one of the best games of the last few seasons, perhaps one of the best in NFL history, and one that provoked a change of the overtime rules to something approaching a reasonable solution. The Chiefs’ 42-36 divisional playoff win over the Bills saw Patrick Mahomes complete 33 of 44 passes for 378 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen matched Mahomes target for target, completing 27 of 37 passes for 329 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. The only thing Allen didn’t have was a chance to respond to the Kansas City overtime drive that ended with an eight-yard Mahomes pass to tight end Travis Kelce.

If this game goes to overtime, both quarterbacks will have a chance to make a difference, so that’s nice. We’ll also see the Chiefs’ redefined post-Tyreek Hill offense, and a Bills defense made better with the addition of edge demon Von Miller. A potential AFC Championship game preview? Certainly.

During the build up to this one, much of the narrative will focus on the past.

But the future lingers and what will be different.

For Buffalo, is Von Miller the pass-rush closer the team is hoping he will be by Week 6? The Chiefs have also done some retooling of their own which has resulted in receiver Tyreek Hill no longer playing in Kansas City. Can they adjust?

This game is already boiling with intrigue.

Eagles to participate in joint practices with the Dolphins ahead of final preseason game

Philadelphia Eagles to participate in joint practices with the Miami Dolphins ahead of the final preseason game

The Eagles will open up their preseason with a matchup against the Jets on August 12, and then the action will really heat up during joint practice sessions.

After previously announcing joint practice sessions with the Browns during their week in Cleveland, Philadelphia will spend the bulk of their final week of training camp holding joint practices with the Dolphins at their training facility in Miami.

Last summer, the Eagles hosted the Patriots for joint practices and then traveled to the Jets’ facility to conduct two days of practices against New York prior to preseason games against each team.

If 2021 was an example, Philadelphia will likely put more stock into those two weeks of practice against the Browns and Jets, choosing to use the game action for bubble players and reserves.
