Power Ranking: Michigan football future NFL draft potential

Where we envision the current crop of Wolverines to be drafted as of today if not much changes between now and next year.

7. Ronnie Bell

We get the feeling that Michigan fans still don’t quite understand how talented Ronnie Bell is. A lot of that might have to do with his three-star ranking and his commitment being a seeming afterthought.

However, he led the Wolverines in pass receptions and yards in 2019, which was not a fluke. Still, he has some work to do.

Despite being a perfect ‘speed in space’ receiver in Josh Gattis’ offense, Bell had some issues with drops at times. But, he has no issue with athleticism, which he’s shown in spades. And, given that he was primarily a basketball recruit until he chose Michigan, he’s certainly not a finished product on the football field.

As Gattis’ offense continues to evolve, it also intends to be more pass happy. That likely means a lot of balls coming Bell’s way.

We don’t know that he’ll for sure leave early with another year of eligibility remaining beyond this one, but given that players similar to him have been high draft picks, he has a first-round ceiling. Just not sure that’s where he’ll be after his junior campaign.

Where we see him as of now?

Fourth-round, but he very well could work himself into a day one candidate. He’s the type of receiver that the NFL has been picking early — take Henry Ruggs III or Jerry Jeudy — but he obviously doesn’t have those types of numbers yet. However, he’s capable of them.
