Power Ranking: Michigan football future NFL draft potential

Where we envision the current crop of Wolverines to be drafted as of today if not much changes between now and next year.

18. Hassan Haskins

Remember: despite having a 994 yard season and 1,178 yards in 11 games in 2018, Karan Higdon went undrafted. It’s sometimes very hard to be drafted at running back into the NFL.

However, as we’ve oft-noted, one person told WolverinesWire back after the 2018 season that, despite having switched from RB to LB and back again, Haskins was ‘the most physically gifted’ tailback on the team. Now, he looks the part of it. The bad news? The RB room is easily the most loaded on the team.

There are five players who all should see significant minutes in 2020. Haskins, though, started games just as Zach Charbonnet did. But, posting 700-800 yards in a season probably won’t be enough to get an NFL club to rise up and grab you early. Haskins seems likely, unless he truly breaks out this year, to be a guy that stays for another year or two.

Michigan hasn’t had a running back drafted since 2008 when Mike Hart was a sixth-rounder, so for him to go higher would require some Herculean efforts in 2020.

Where we see him as of now?

Seventh-round or UDFA if he leaves early.
