Power Ranking: Michigan football future NFL draft potential

Where we envision the current crop of Wolverines to be drafted as of today if not much changes between now and next year.

3. Aidan Hutchinson

Another potential early departure, though, if there was a player that could go early and return for his senior year, this Michigan legacy would probably be it.

Despite showing out as a first-time, full-time starter, Hutchinson seems to be just scratching the surface of his potential. It’ll help that he gets to continue playing with Kwity Paye opposite him and that the bulk of the defensive line as well as having a second-straight year with defensive line coach Shaun Nua. He also could get some help in the form of a returning Carlo Kemp and five-star Christopher Hinton on the defensive interior.

You can’t teach experience, and Hutchinson made a big jump from his freshman to his sophomore year. If he makes a similar jump his junior year, he’s a surefire first-rounder, but that’s a big ask. And, like we said, we’re not even sure he’d be an early departure to begin with. Regardless, Hutchinson has first-round potential, which could come to fruition this year, assuredly. It’s maybe even likely. But we’re playing wait-and-see on that at the moment.

Where we see him as of now?

Second-round, with a high probability of moving into the first.
