Power Ranking: Michigan football future NFL draft potential

Where we envision the current crop of Wolverines to be drafted as of today if not much changes between now and next year.

4. Cam McGrone

2019 was certainly a coming out party for middle linebacker Cam McGrone.

The former five-star according to 247Sports has been a player we’ve been raving about since seeing him in high school, with a direct comparison to former first-round pick Devin Bush Jr. But we only got to see that for the first time this past season.

Bush got to show out as a freshman, but McGrone was limited his true freshman year with injuries. Then, he didn’t win the starting MIKE job outright until Week Four this past season, so his resume, though strong, is limited, comparatively.

He finished with 65 tackles in 13 games, which isn’t too far off from Bush’s 79 in 12 in 2018. However, he seems to be just as fast, have the same penchant for nosing out plays and being a heat-seeking missile. He’ll just need to expound upon what he was able to show in the final 9 weeks of play in 2018 before he gets to move into elite status.

Regardless, we could see any number of NFL teams salivating at his potential.

Where we see him as of now?

Second-round, but with a high probability that he could be a first either this next year or the following year.
