To this day, it is a wonder that anyone can claim to be faster than Rocket Ismail. In my mind, you could see smoke behind him on the way to the endzone. I am going to admit a lot of this may be built up in my head due to the inverse relationship between a young fan’s age and how close that player on their wall is to a god. Ismail may have had only 71 catches in his three-year Notre Dame career, but those Lou Holtz-led squads didn’t need to throw the ball. If they did, Ismail’s speed would have been put to good use.
