The polish of Michael Floyd…

The Notre Dame career leader in receptions, receiving yardage and receiving touchdowns could be on here for a number of different traits, but I chose polish for one big reason. There have been sixteen individual seasons since 2000 where a Notre Dame wide receiver has recorded at least 45 catches, 700 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. Floyd was the only freshman to do it. Floyd came out of high school ready to compete at the highest level and he continued that throughout his career. While he improved throughout his career as most college players do, he synced up with quarterback Jimmy Clausen due to his size, route running, hands and instincts. It’s going to take a wide receiver with the same polish as Floyd to make an immediate impact and break his school records. I find it highly unlikely that will happen anytime soon.
