The high point/contested catch ability of Miles Boykin…
We only knew Miles Boykin for what seemed like a second. It was essentially one big Citrus Bowl plus one season of starting before being drafted. But very few players at Notre Dame had a coming out party that also highlighted his defining trait like Miles Boykin did in that Citrus Bowl. Three catches for 102 yards and one miraculous touchdown reception plucking the ball with one hand over a defender and racing to the endzone. Boykin’s ability to high point the football and out-battle defensive backs for the ball gave him a defined skill that set him up for success in 2018 and aided Ian Book in his first year starting. In a situation where the offense was sputtering, it was a fade to Boykin that could break the Irish out of it.
