Some Super Bowl ads can be funny, while others are sad (hello, Google), while others tend to touch on the dramatic. There were a handful of Super Bowl spots in this year’s Ad Meter rankings that could fall into the latter category, and according to Ad Blitz, a YouTube exclusive, these have been the most-viewed so far:

3. Hulu: Tom Brady’s Big Announcement

Tom Brady’s cryptic tweet that was sent out before the Super Bowl had fans (especially in New England) shook. What did he mean? Was he leaving Boston? What. Was. It?!

It turned out to be a tease for Hulu’s dram-com SB spot—one that had the decorated QB and Ted 2 actor reading directly from a script. So far the ad has been a hit, too, with the view count continuing to rise.

2. GMC: “Quiet Revolution”

GMC introduced its HUMMER EV with a creative spot titled “Quiet Revolution.” And it certainly was quiet, the entire 30 seconds completely void of sound—even LeBron James is silent.

Probably an unanswerable question: How many people have watched this and immediately started fidgeting with the volume control on the device they’re using?

When considering the commercial’s incredible amount of views, it’s safe to assume there have been more than a few…

1. Heinz: “Find the Goodness”

Roman Coppola, the director of the HEINZ ad, explained it best: “To think of a way that four stories can share resemblance, be on the screen together, be cohesive and visually attractive, and be inviting for the viewer to watch, was a fun challenge that gave a very interesting set of parameters to work within,” he explained. “We tried to be creative and also strict about the form, to make the ad best suited for people to see four things at once.”

And it was mission: accomplished. The commercial currently sits at No. 1 most-viewed in the “Dramatic Ads” category on AdBlitz.

Was ‘This Bud’ for You: A look at the different Budweiser labels during the Super Bowl era

Few things are as synonymous with Super Bowl Sunday than beer-whether it’s commercials, the Super Bowl parties, the pregame, the post-victory celebrations, you name it. And when thinking about the history of the Super Bowl, few brands come to mind …

Few things are as synonymous with Super Bowl Sunday than beer—whether it’s commercials, the Super Bowl parties, the pregame, the post-victory celebrations, you name it. And when thinking about the history of the Super Bowl, few brands come to mind more quickly than Budweiser. (In fact, if you haven’t already thought about the frogs spelling it out, well, you are now: “Bud! Weis! Er!”)

The King of Beers has been around since 1876 and has become one of the most recognizable brands. There are the iconic Clydesdales, which trotted onto the scene some 85 years ago. The hitch was part of a gift to August A. Busch, Sr. in 1933, celebrating the repeal of Prohibition. More present-day additions include cameos by Budweiser’s Dalmatian, plus impactful messaging like that featured in this year’s Big Game commercial, “Typical American.”

And, of course, there’s the label.

There have been 26 versions since the pre-1920s, and at this year’s Super Bowl, Budweiser unveiled the 27th.

Didn’t realize it’s changed that much? Many probably haven’t, but thanks to Budweiser, we can take a trip down Super Bowl memory lane, beginning in 1967, and get a glimpse at some of the changes throughout history.

See if you can spot the differences while remembering if “This Bud” was for you…

Super Bowl LIV is in the books, ending with a big win for the Kanas City Chiefs. Now, only one more thing remains to be decided—what ad took home the top spot in USA Today’s 2020 Ad Meter rankings?

More than a few ads submitted for voting this year were worthy of consideration, from the thoughtful to the empowering, the funny and sad, and all those surprising spots that make Super Bowl commercials so great!

Here were the top 5 based on the Ad Meter rankings:

1. Jeep: “Groundhog Day,” 7.01

Bill Murray made his first Big Game appearance in this spot for Jeep, which took a perfectly timed Super Bowl date that fell on Groundhog Day and hit it big with a twist on the classic Murray film.

2. Hyundai: “Smaht Pahk,” 6.98

Taking the second spot this year was Hyundai’s comical back and forth with Chris Evans, John Krasinski, Rachel Dratch, and David “Big Papi” Ortiz—who can’t believe the ‘smaht’ Remote Smart Parking Assist feature in the new Hyundai Sonata.

3. Google: “Loretta,” 6.77

One of the most heartfelt ads this year came in at No. 3, with Google’s “Loretta” allowing the audience to to join one man’s trip down memory lane—with a little help from Google—about the love of his life.

4. Doritos: “The Cool Ranch,” 6.62

It’s Doritos coming in at fourth place in 2020. Their spot “The Cool Ranch” featured a western showdown like we’ve never seen before—thanks in part to Lil Nas X and Sam Elliott.

5. Rocket Mortgage: “Comfortable,”

Rocket Mortgage had its best-ever Ad Meter showing, cracking the top 5 with a spot that featured actor Jason Momoa away from the spotlight like you’ve—100 percent!—never seen him before.
