Was ‘This Bud’ for You: A look at the different Budweiser labels during the Super Bowl era

Few things are as synonymous with Super Bowl Sunday than beer-whether it’s commercials, the Super Bowl parties, the pregame, the post-victory celebrations, you name it. And when thinking about the history of the Super Bowl, few brands come to mind …

1979-1986

This label has some interesting Super Bowl trivia behind it: It was there when the Oakland Raiders took Super Bowl XV. And it was there when the Los Angeles Raiders took Super Bowl XVIII. The only Budweiser label to be part of a franchise’s and fan base’s celebrations…that occurred in two different cities.

This label also would have been raised during the second-consecutive Lombardi Trophy for the Steelers, plus the inaugural SB wins for the 49ers and Redskins. And if you were in Chicago and thirsty from all the Super Bowl Shuffling, this would have been the label on your bottle of Bud.
