Outside linebacker Xavian Sorey has committed to the University of Georgia and will now sign with the Bulldogs. Sorey is a five-star recruit, who plays football and basketball for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Sorey previously played for Graceville High School in Graceville, Florida.
Georgia has already offered his younger brother, Daquayvious Sorey, a football scholarship. His brother, who plays for Graceville, plays wide receiver and is an elite 2023 recruit.
Sorey has good size for a linebacker at six-foot-three, and he weighs 214 pounds. He holds numerous scholarship offers, but picked Georgia over Florida and Alabama.
Sorey is rated as the No. 1 outside linebacker, the No. 6 prospect in Florida and the No. 20 prospect overall, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
This is Georgia’s biggest recruiting win so far on signing day. Sorey gives Georgia a great group of 2021 linebacker recruits. Sorey joins fellow five-star UGA commitment Smael Mondon in Athens.
Sorey Jr. officially signed with Georgia today according to the Georgia football Twitter account:
