Arizona at USC odds, picks and predictions

The No. 5 Arizona Wildcats (24-6, 15-4 Pac-12) take on the USC Trojans (13-17, 7-12) Saturday at Galen Center. Tip is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Arizona vs. USC odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wildcats, No. 5 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, have won 10 of 11 after an 88-65 can-opening on UCLA Thursday. G Caleb Love had 17 points as he reached double figures for the 27th consecutive game. The senior from St. Louis is averaging a career-high 36.1% shooting from beyond the arc. He had 20 in the 82-67 victory over USC Jan. 17.

Southern Cal has won 2 in a row but failed to cover as a 9.5-point favorite in its 81-73 victory over Arizona State Thursday. G Boogie Ellis went off for 28 points in the W, and he has dropped 24+ in 3 of 5. Ellis missed the previous matchup with Arizona in January, but he had 35 against them last year.

Arizona at USC picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 82, USC 73

Moneyline

I’m picking Arizona, but it’s far too expensive to consider on the ML.

PASS.

Against the spread

USC is 8-6 at home but just 3-9 on the road this year. With Ellis ballin’ out of control right now, I like him to keep the Trojans in it. USC covered as a 21-point dog in the 1st meeting without Ellis, and I like him to keep it within single digits.

Take USC +9.5 (-120).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

USC is 7-3 O/U over the last 10, and Arizona is 5-5. The Over is 6-4 in the last 10 meetings with the Under 158.5 cashing earlier this season. Arizona is just 16-14 O/U this season, and it’s good for 80 points. But I’m projecting this to fall a little short here.

LEAN UNDER 159.5 (-110).

USC at Cal odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USC at Cal odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 22 USC Trojans (6-2, 4-1 Pac-12) and Cal Golden Bears (3-4, 1-3) meet Saturday at California Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the USC vs. Cal odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

USC failed to cover the spread as a 7.5-point home favorite in a 34-32 loss vs. Utah as the Over (51.5) cashed last Saturday — its 2nd straight loss after starting 6-0.

The Golden Bears have lost 2 in a row and 3 out of 4 in conference play. They failed to cover as 9-point underdogs with a 34-14 loss at Utah as the Over (42.5) hit Oct. 14 before their bye last week.

USC is No. 22 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

USC at Cal picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 45, Cal 30

Moneyline

Cal’s only conference win this season has been against a 1-win Arizona State team, and it was only a 3-point win.

USC has suffered 2 consecutive losses but against quality opponents.

So betting Cal to win in an upset seems way too unlikely, and betting the Trojans on the moneyline just doesn’t make sense in terms of value.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Trojans have struggled with the spread, going 2-6 ATS this season. They have failed to cover the spread in 5 straight games. They only have 1 double-digit conference win.

Cal, though, in its 3 Pac-12 losses, has been defeated by no fewer than 20 points.

BET USC -10.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in 7 of USC’s games and in 5 straight.

The Trojans have scored no fewer than 42 points in any of their wins.

Cal has twice allowed more than 50 points this season.

BET OVER 67.5 (-110).

Lock it in with Alex: Bet this Pac-12 total in Utah-USC showdown

Two top-20 teams meet in a huge Pac-12 college football showdown Saturday in Los Angeles, and Alex White is all over the total.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USC Trojans (6-1, 4-0 Pac-12) host the Utah Utes (5-1, 2-1) Saturday in a top-20 matchup. Kickoff from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is set for 8 p.m. ET (FOX).

SportsbookWire.com’s Alex White points out the Trojans have “double-revenge” on their minds after losing to the Utes twice last season. USC lost 43-42 as a 3.5-point road underdog during the regular season and 47-24 as a 2.5-point favorite in the Pac-12 title game, played in Las Vegas.

The Utes — No. 14 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports — are known for their defense. They rank 5th in points allowed (12.2 per game) and 9th in yards allowed (277.8) this season.

The 16th-ranked Trojans are known for their offense. They’re 2nd in points (47.3) — only behind Oregon (48.5) — and 9th in total yards (491.7).

Something’s gotta give.

While Alex doesn’t like the point spread — BetMGM Sportsbook has USC favored by 7 (as of Saturday at 2:02 p.m.) — she says, “now is a great time to jump on” the total. The O/U line is 51.5 (O: -115 | U: -105).

Utah at USC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Utah at USC odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Utah Utes (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) and USC Trojans (6-1, 4-0) meet Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Utah vs. USC odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Utes have certainly missed QB Cam Rising (knee) on offense, and he remains out indefinitely while recovering from the brutal knee injury he suffered in the Rose Bowl against Penn State. He recently revealed that he tore his ACL, meniscus, medial patellofemoral ligament, as well as his MCL. As a result, it’s been QB Bryson Barnes and Nate Johnson holding down the fort under center.

Utah is still ranked high, and it has leaned upon its defense hard to get to this point. The Utes pounded Cal 34-14, bouncing back from a 21-7 loss at Oregon State the game before. While the offense has been held to 24 or fewer points 4 times, the defense has allowed 14 or fewer in 5 of 6 outings.

USC was humbled at Notre Dame last weekend, getting blasted 48-20. QB Caleb Williams might have fallen out of the Heisman frontrunner spot. More importantly, the team’s playoff chances might’ve taken a giant hit, although the loss to the Irish was not in conference. The team is very much alive and well for the Pac-12 Conference Championship Game, which could potentially be a marquee game against Washington.

Utah is No. 14 and USC is No. 16 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Utah at USC picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 29, Utah 26

Moneyline

USC (-250) is going to be angry after getting embarrassed at Notre Dame last weekend, but can it do anything about it? The Trojans cannot stop anybody on defense, and that’s a major issue against marquee teams. This defense has allowed 43.3 PPG across the past 3 outings, and Utah (+200) has to be licking its collective chops, even with 2 backup QBs potentially seeing time if Rising remains sidelined.

You can’t risk 2½ times your potential return on a team which was just whipped by 28 points, but you can’t really risk playing Utah, either, as Rising could be rusty if he did play, and Barnes and Johnson are just serviceable.

AVOID.

Against the spread

UTAH +7 (-110) has dominated this rivalry lately, including a pair of victories last season to spoil the season for USC -7 (-110).

Revenge will be a huge factor for the Trojans, and the Utes are still likely missing Rising. The USC defense just cannot get it together, and therefore Utah should always be in the game. Take the Utes to at least keep it within 1 score, although it’s not hard to envision another outright win.

Over/Under

OVER 51.5 (-115) is worth a look, although go lightly.

Again, USC has allowed 43.3 PPG across the past 3 games, with at least 41 points in each outing. However, Utah doesn’t have an offense capable of giant splash plays. They use a methodical offense and smothering defense to get the job done, so that’s concerning to Over bettors.

USC at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USC at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USC Trojans (6-0) and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-2) meet Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the USC vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Trojans fought off an upset bid from Arizona last Saturday night at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, winning 43-41 in 3 OT to stay unbeaten. However, it failed to cover for the 3rd straight outing, while cashing the Over in each of the games. That’s because USC has allowed 41 points in consecutive outings, and 28 or more points in 3 in a row.

The Fighting Irish lost that gut-wrenching game to Ohio State on the final play on Sept. 23, before going down to Duke and winning in the final minute. It hit the road for a 2nd straight game inside the ACC last week and fell to Louisville 33-20.

The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for the Irish, mainly because the offense has disappeared. After going for 41 or more points in the first 4 games, the Irish offense has averaged just 18.3 PPG, while allowing 21.3 PPG.

USC slapped the brakes on a 4-game series losing streak last season, winning 38-27 in Los Angeles. The Trojans haven’t won in South Bend since a 31-17 win on Oct. 22, 2011.

USC is No. 9 and Notre Dame is No. 21 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

USC at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 38, Notre Dame 31

Moneyline

It’s hard to believe USC (+120) is actually the underdog here. Yes, Notre Dame (-145) has had its way with the Trojans in this rivalry game in recent seasons, but USC’s offense has been on fire lately, while Notre Dame’s offense has been rather stagnant.

Yes, the Trojans cannot stop anybody, as they allowed Arizona to walk all over them at the Coliseum, and nearly come away with the upset. But USC’s offense can run with anybody, and if this turns into a track meet, I am not sure Notre Dame has the tools to make it to the finish line first.

Against the spread

While I much prefer the Trojans straight up, playing USC +2.5 (-105) isn’t a terrible play, either. I mean, Notre Dame does have a tendency to play close games lately, and it lost on the final play in regulation at home in the most recent home game. And Notre Dame did snatch a victory from Duke in the final minute of regulation, so we could see another close game with a razor-thin difference.

Over/Under

OVER 60.5 (-105) is worth a look, mainly because USC hasn’t offered up very much resistance on defense lately. Even Notre Dame’s moribund offense should come alive somewhat against the very giving Men of Troy.

And we know QB Caleb Williams and the Trojans are going to score. USC has registered 42 or more points in all 6 games to date.

Arizona at USC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Arizona at USC odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Arizona Wildcats (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) visit the No. 9 USC Trojans (5-0, 3-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is set for 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Arizona vs. USC odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Arizona fell 31-24 at home against Washington last week but covered as a 20-point underdog. QB Noah Fifita went 27 of 39 for 232 yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception. His favorite target was WR Jacob Cowing, who had 9 receptions for 70 yards and a TD, while WR Tetairoa McMillan finished with 6 catches for 45 yards and 2 scores. Arizona’s defense had no answers for Heisman Trophy candidate and Washington QB Michael Penix Jr., who threw for 363 yards on 30-of-40 attempts.

USC took down Colorado 48-41 last week but failed to cover as a 22.5-point road favorite. QB Caleb Williams went 30 of 40 for 403 yards and 6 TDs with an INT in the victory. Last season’s Heisman winner spread it around as 5 different Trojans caught TDs with WR Brenden Rice (5 receptions, 81 yards) hauling in 2. The Trojans led by as many as 27 at one point — 48-21 late in the 3rd quarter — before yielding 20 unanswered points before thwarting Buffaloes’ comeback.

Arizona at USC picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 52, Arizona 24

Moneyline

PASS.

USC (-2000) has been rolling this season and will more than likely continue that dominance Saturday. However, at -2000 odds, there is no value and absolutely no reason to put anything on the moneyline.

Against the spread

LEAN USC -21 (-110).

Williams and USC have looked phenomenal through this first chunk of the season, averaging 555.0 yards of offense. While the Trojans only beat the Buffaloes by 7 points last week, USC had multiple leads of 21 or more. Giving credit to Colorado, it was able to claw its way back into that game, but this week, Arizona will be unable to keep up.

Over/Under

BET OVER 71.5 (-110).

The Trojans have eclipsed 72 points in 3 of their 5 games and have scored at least 42 points in each. Arizona has scored at least 24 points in 4 of its 5 games.

While the burden will most likely fall on USC in order to hit this Over, its offense has shown that it is more than capable of doing so, especially in front of its home fans. The Trojans have scored at least 56 points in each of their 3 home games this season.

USC at Colorado odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USC at Colorado odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USC Trojans (4-0, 2-0 Pac-12) and the Colorado Buffaloes (3-1, 0-1) meet Saturday at Folsom Field in a Pac-12 conference showdown in Boulder. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the USC vs. Colorado odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

USC picked up a 42-28 win at Arizona State last time out, but the Trojans didn’t come close to covering a 34.5-point number. It was the 4th straight game USC posted 42 or more points of offense, and the Over is 3-1 overall. The Trojans are averaging 49.0 points per game (PPG) in 2 Pac-12 battles, while allowing just 19.0 PPG.

Colorado opened with 3 straight wins at TCU, and at home against Nebraska and Colorado State. After covering the 1st 2 games, the Buffaloes failed to cover in the OT win over the rival Rams, and CU took its 1st loss with a 42-6 rout at the hands of the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 opener. The Over and Under has alternated in each of the 1st 4 games.

USC is No. 6 and Colorado is No. 25 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

USC at Colorado picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 51, Colorado 27

Moneyline

USC (-1600) will cost you 16 times your potential return, and there is just no scenario where that kind of wager is warranted, either as a standalone play, or as part of a multi-team parlay.

Yes, Colorado (+860) was smashed last time out in Oregon, and all of the critics and doubters came out of the woodwork. But CU is back home, and the Buffs have been tough. It should be an electric atmosphere in Boulder, but you can’t back the home side yet, either. Colorado just isn’t ready to shock the world and drop a top-10 opponent.

PASS.

Against the spread

USC -21.5 (-115) is a rather heavy number on the road. However, after what we saw from Colorado +21.5 (-105) last week, when Oregon handled its business in rather easy fashion, you can expect the Trojans to march up and down the field with relative ease, too.

However, the Buffaloes will have a much better showing offensively. One, CU is at home, and it is averaging 39.5 PPG in 2 home dates. And the Trojans allowed a bad Arizona State team to put up 28 points on them last week, and that was with a backup QB. Colorado will hang with USC into the 2nd half before the favorites pull away.

Over/Under

OVER 73.5 (-110) is the play. USC should score early and often, but Colorado should be able to keep the favorites within sight.

The Trojans allowed 353 total yards of offense, including 263 yards through the air, to an Arizona State team using its 3rd-string QB. If that happened, imagine what QB Shedeur Sanders will be able to accomplish.

This is a big number, but these teams are going to keep the scoreboard operator busy at Folsom.

The No. 5 USC Trojans (3-0, 1-0 Pac-12) and Arizona State Sun Devils (1-2, 0-0) meet Saturday at Mountain America Stadium. Kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the USC vs. Arizona State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

USC covered the spread as a 28-point home favorite with a 56-10 win vs. the Stanford Cardinal as the Under (70) hit Sept. 9 before its bye last week. The Trojans scored 49 points in the 1st half, and QB Caleb Williams finished 19-of-21 passing for 281 yards with 3 TDs and rushed for another score.

Arizona State failed to cover as a 4-point home underdog in a 29-0 loss vs. the Fresno State Bulldogs as the Under (47.5) cashed last Saturday. The Sun Devils were shut out for the 1st time since losing 28-0 at USC on Oct. 11, 2008.

These teams have played each other once since coach Lincoln Riley arrived at USC. Arizona State covered as a 24.5-point underdog in that meeting with a 42-25 road loss as the Over (61) hit Oct. 1, 2022.

USC at Arizona State picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 55, Arizona State 13

Moneyline

USC (-10000) should have no trouble beating the 1-2 Sun Devils, but most people don’t want to risk $10,000 to win $100.

PASS. Lay the points and/or bet the total instead.

Against the spread

Arizona State is 0-3 ATS this season and has failed to cover by an average margin of 22.0 points per game.

USC is 2-1 ATS this season and has covered in back-to-back games as a favorite of 28 or more points. The Trojans failed to cover as 31-point home favorites in their lone ATS loss after getting backdoored by the San Jose State Spartans in the final 6 minutes of a 56-28 win.

USC has consistently played above expectations this season. BET USC -34.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Over cashed in USC’s first 2 games this season and was just 5 points short of cashing in the Trojans’ win vs. Stanford. While USC seems to be improving defensively and has allowed just 17.3 points per game this season, I believe its offense is explosive enough to do most of the heavy lifting in this one and help the Over hit Saturday.

Stanford at USC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Stanford at USC odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Stanford Cardinal (1-0) take a trip to Los Angeles to visit the USC Trojans (2-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is set for 10:30 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Stanford vs. USC odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Stanford beat the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 37-24 in Week 1 as QB Ashton Daniels completed 25 of 36 passes (69%) for 248 yards and 2 TDs. Stanford’s run game was solid as well, rushing for 158 yards and 2 TDs,  averaging 4.6 yards per carry. What put Stanford over the top was its special teams play as K Joshua Karty was 3/3 on field goals and 4/4 on extra points.

The USC Trojans rolled to a 66-14 win over the Nevada Wolf Pack last week as QB Caleb Williams showed why is the favorite to repeat as the Heisman Trophy winner. Williams completed 75% of his passes (18 of 24) for 319 yards and 5 TDs. His leading receiver was Tahj Washington, who caught 3 passses for 75 yards and 2 TDs. The Trojans had 4 receivers with 50-plus receiving yards and 5 receivers caught a TD pass.

USC is No. 6 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.

Stanford at USC picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 49, Stanford 28

Moneyline

PASS.

The Trojans should win here but they are far too heavy of a favorite to bet on at (-10000). Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET STANFORD +29.5 (-110).

I am a fan of Williams and this USC offense, but their defense is still a concern. The Trojans should win this game pretty comfortably, but I am not sure they will win by 30 points. The Trojans have not dominated Stanford recently, only being 2-2 in the last 4 meetings since 2018. USC showed last season that their defense was a huge liability, and I expect that to begin to show yet again in this matchup.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 69.5 (-115).

Defense is not a staple in college football, especially not in the PAC-12, and that will show in this game. Stanford has already shown that their defense is lackluster as they allowed Hawaii to score 24 points, so they have no chance of containing Williams and this explosive USC offense. I expect Williams to further his Heisman campaign and throw for at least 5 TDs.

Nevada at USC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Nevada at USC odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The USC Trojans (1-0) host the Nevada Wolf Pack Saturday at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nevada vs. USC odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Nevada finished last season 2-10 straight up and 4-8 against the spread (ATS). The Wolf Pack scored 102 points in their first 3 games — going 2-1 straight up and ATS — but just 124 in their last 9. Nevada’s regular season wins total is currently at Over 4 (-145) / Under 4 (+120).

USC failed to cover the spread as a 31-point home favorite in a 56-28 win vs. the San Jose State Spartans last Saturday. The Trojans led by 35 with 6:53 remaining but allowed a TD with 5:08 remaining to give San Jose State the backdoor cover.

USC is No. 6 in the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll.

Nevada at USC picks and predictions

Prediction

USC 56, Nevada 14

Moneyline

USC (-10000) should win, but it’s a high price to pay for such little profit.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or the total instead.

Against the spread

The Wolf Pack were 2-8 ATS in their final 10 games last season and scored more than 21 points just twice over their final 9. This team has regressed heavily since Jay Norvell left to coach the Colorado State Rams in December 2021, and I don’t believe it has improved enough to win more than 4 games this season.

USC’s offense (41.4 points per game last season) is more than capable of running up the score vs. this struggling Nevada defense and covering such a high number.

LEAN USC -38.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in 9 straight USC games, dating back to last season.

The Trojans are going to have to do most of the heavy lifting in this one but should have no trouble lighting up this Nevada defense that gave up 41 or more points 4 times last season.

BET OVER 66.5 (-110).
