How Twitter reacted to Colts’ 31-28 win over Titans

Take a look at how Twitter reacted to the Colts’ 31-28 win over the Titans.

In what was one of the weirdest games in recent memory, the Indianapolis Colts (7-5) defeated the Tennessee Titans (4-8) in overtime, 31-28, on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Sweeping the series against the Titans for the first time since 2018, it also marked the first time the Colts won in Nashville since that season. Thanks to some crucial plays on special teams and another stellar performance from Michael Pittman Jr., the Colts are now riding a four-game winning streak.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the Week 13 win:

Sooner Nation, social media reacts to Big 12 championship game

Sooner Nation and social media reacts to the Texas Longhorns win over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 championship game.

The Big 12 championship didn’t provide the theatrics we saw on Friday night in the Pac-12 title game. The Texas Longhorns dominated the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 49-21, to win their fourth Big 12 title.

Quinn Ewers was the player of the game, winning the inaugural Big 12 MVP title belt co-created with the WWE. Ewers threw for 452 yards and four touchdowns, and the Longhorns defense held Ollie Gordon to 34 yards rushing.

This game had some big plays and controversial officiating decisions. Both have been prevalent in the Big 12 this year.

At the end, Horns fans serenaded Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark with boos and chants of “S-E-C” as he presented the Big 12 title to Steve Sarkisian.

It was Texas’ fourth Big 12 championship, 10 behind the Oklahoma Sooners as the Red River Rivals head to the SEC in 2024.

Though Oklahoma wasn’t playing in the game, it generated significant interest in Sooner Nation watching their two biggest rivals go toe-to-toe.

Here’s how social media reacted to the game.

Social media reacts to Bobby Petrino returning as Arkansas offensive coordinator

Razorback fans took to social media to give their opinions on Bobby Petrino becoming Arkansas’ next offensive coordinator. Here’s some of the best reactions.

After days of rampant speculation and fair amount of criticism, [autotag]Sam Pittman[/autotag] has reportedly found his next offensive coordinator. In a move that not many saw coming, [autotag]Bobby Petrino[/autotag] is making a return to Fayetteville.

Petrino is back for a second stint at Arkansas, this time as offensive coordinator. He served as Arkansas’ head coach from 2008-2011, but his tenure ended in 2012 with the infamous motorcycle scandal.

In his four seasons, Petrino led the Hogs to a 34-17 overall record and three straight bowl appearances from 2009-2011. Following the 2011 season, the Razorbacks finished ranked 5th in the final AP Top 25 poll – which is their highest final ranking since 1977 (3rd).

Everyone knows what happened next, what led to his dismissal in April of 2012 and, most notably, the struggles Arkansas football has experienced since he’s been gone.

In the past decade since Petrino’s tenure came to an end, the Hogs have failed to come close to the success they obtained under him. Coincidentally, the closest the program has come was in 2021 under Sam Pittman, who is now responsible for bringing Petrino back to Fayetteville.

Bobby Petrino returning was well-received by most Razorback fans. Here’s some of the best social media reactions to the news.

Schadenfreude: Ohio State media down bad over loss to Michigan football

This is just delicious! #GoBlue

There’s a funny thing about supposed birthrights and entitlements in college football — everything is earned, nothing is given.

We’ve seen a lot of cope starting in late November 2021, when Michigan football upset Ohio State for the first time in a decade. It continued when the Wolverines’ won again in 2022. With Jim Harbaugh sidelined and the maize and blue under fire amid illegal sign-stealing allegations, 2023 should have been vindication for the Buckeyes.

But it wasn’t.

In the previous 48 hours, Ohio State fan sites have had time to digest reality: Even without Jim Harbaugh or Connor Stalions, Michigan is just better at the moment. Some have accepted it, others are in denial, some are still in the bargaining stage.

Social media reacts to Sam Pittman returning as Arkansas head coach in 2024

It’s confirmed that Sam Pittman will return as Arkansas’ head coach next season. Here’s what fans are saying about the decision on social media.

Over the past few weeks, rumors and speculation regarding the future of the Arkansas football program have been dominating the conversation.

Following the firing of Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher and Mississippi State’s Zach Arnett last Sunday, many expected Arkansas to follow suit. To the surprise of many, they didn’t and [autotag]Sam Pittman[/autotag]’s job seemed safe throughout the week.

During his press conferences in the week leading up to Saturday night’s 44-20 win over FIU, Pittman sounded like a coach relatively confident in their job security. Shortly before kickoff, ESPN’s Rod Gilmore reported that Pittman told them that he wasn’t getting fired this year – despite Pittman refuting Gilmore’s claim in his postgame press conference.

Fast forward to Sunday morning and numerous reports were circulating that [autotag]Hunter Yurachek[/autotag] had let players and staff know that Pittman was returning as Arkansas’ head coach for the 2024 season. That afternoon, Yurachek confirmed those reports with a statement of his own.

As expected, a large majority of Razorback fans were not happy with this news. Many took to social media to voice their opinions and frustrations with the situation and direction of [autotag]Arkansas football[/autotag] going forward.

Here’s some what they’re saying about Pittman remaining at Arkansas for another season.

Social media reacts to the Oklahoma Sooners 31-24 win over BYU

The Oklahoma Sooners did just enough on the road to beat the BYU Cougars and here’s how Social Media Reacted.

It wasn’t the prettiest win for the Oklahoma Sooners in their 31-24 victory over the BYU Cougars. But it was a win nonetheless. Provo provided a fantastic backdrop for the Sooners final road game as a Big 12 member. Sooner Nation loved the scenic views of Utah ahead of today’s game.

The Sooners moved to 9-2 on a day when the defense wasn’t at its best and the offense lost starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel to a concussion. Jackson Arnold stepped in after halftime and played well enough for the Sooners to get a win, but Oklahoma needed some big-time defensive plays in the second half to come out on top.

It was a big day for Billy Bowman, who had a key interception return for a touchdown. Danny Stutsman came up big despite dealing with an illness.

In Gavin Sawchuk, it feels like the Sooners have found their running game. Sawchuk posted his third straight 100-yard day and capped it off with a 16-yard game-winning touchdown.

It was a solid road win for the Sooners who continue to show they’re a different team than the one that took the field a year ago.

Here’s how social media reacted to the Sooners 31-24 win over BYU.

Social media reactions to Michigan’s 1,000th win, win over Maryland

Big win, but next week is (obviously) more important. #GoBlue

The Wolverines won a tight matchup with the Maryland Terrapins, 31-24, to give the program 1,000 wins.

Though the game was close from start to finish, Michigan closed out the Terps to secure a second consecutive 11-0 start.

Of course, Michigan has the best fan base in the country, so social media was ripe with thoughts and reactions to the historic victory. Keep scrolling to see what media members and fans are saying following the victory.

Next week, Michigan will host the Ohio State Buckeyes for a chance to play in the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Social Media Reacts: Billy Bowman stops a BYU drive with a 100-yard pick-6

Social Media Reacts. As BYU looked like it was about to score, Billy Bowman returned and interception 100 yards for the score.

The Oklahoma Sooners and BYU Cougars are locked in a tight battle in Provo. The Sooners are down their starting quarterback and the defense is giving up a lot of points and yards to one of the worst offenses in the country.

It’s going to take everyone playing at their best for the Sooners to come home with a win.

Despite the loss of Dillon Gabriel, the Sooners are getting big plays from their playmakers.

As BYU was driving and had the ball on the Sooners’ two-yard line, Jakc Retzlaff attempted to throw a quick hitch for the score. Sooners safety Billy Bowman read the play beautifully, jumped in front of the pass and took it 100 yards for a touchdown to give the Sooners a 24-17 lead.

The lead would be shortlived as BYU answered, but this play will be huge if the Sooners are able to come away with a victory.

Twitter reacts to Dak Prescott, Cowboys record-setting win vs Giants

Top reactions to the Cowboys bludgeoning the Giants for the second time in 2023, straight from social media. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The Dallas Cowboys stomped a mudhole through yet another inferior opponent on Sunday. Their Week 10 victory over the lowly New York Giants, 49-17, was the club’s second 40-burger in the last three weeks and third overall. Dallas has now had the largest margin of victory in a given week across the NFL a whopping four times (Week’s 1, 4, 8 and 10), proving their worth.

But they haven’t defeated a good-to-great team yet, so questions still remain about exactly what this team is. Blowing out the opposition is crucial, but not as important as actually beating other good teams. Regardless, the performance was epic, with quarterback Dak Prescott, WR CeeDee Lamb and the club as a whole setting NFL records, or doing things that hadn’t been accomplished in decades.

Twitter (his mama named him Clay, I’m a call him Clay vibes here) is the perfect place to capture all the glory and discussion from fans to media. Here’s a large sample of reactions, stats and funny memes centered around the Week 10 dismanting.

Enjoy.

Social media reacts to Commanders’ defensive meltdown in loss to Seahawks

Twitter not happy with another embarrassing performance from the Commanders defense.

Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell proved again he had some magic in his right arm late in the game. Down 26-19 with around two minutes remaining, Howell led the Commanders on a game-tying score against the Seattle Seahawks.

The only mistake Howell made was leaving too much time on the clock. After Howell’s 35-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dyami Brown, the Seahawks had 53 seconds remaining against Washington’s struggling defense.

Seattle quarterback Geno Smith found wide receiver DK Metcalf for two completions on the final drive, setting up kicker Jason Myers for a 43-yard game-winning opportunity. Myers drilled it, and Washington had dropped yet another heartbreaker, falling to 4-6 on the season.

Social media was not happy with Washington’s struggling defense, which allowed 489 total yards and 369 passing yards.

Here is a sampling of those reactions from Twitter — now known as X.
