Top 105 2021 NFL Draft Prospects

The Titans did just fine on the field even with a complete and total bust of a 2020 NFL Draft – at least for the first year – starting with the to-put-it-way-too-nicely misfire on Isaiah Wilson with the 29th overall pick. This time around they have four of the top 100 picks and a chance at a reboot. And now …

They still need help on the O line. That should be there. They still need more for the secondary after last year’s draft picks haven’t done enough yet. They still need a running back who can rotate with Derrick Henry, and they still need a receiver who can add something on the other side of AJ Brown. They still need a lot for a team that’s strong as is.

The team is in a good draft position with value almost certainly going to be there at positions of need.  Everything should be right there with a whole slew of wide receivers there for the taking at the 22, and a few good offensive linemen – even if they’re second-tier – around at the 53. Tennessee can get better in a hurry after this weekend.

Dolphins waive troubled OL Isaiah Wilson

The Miami Dolphins have waived former Tennessee Titans and Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson.

The Miami Dolphins have waived former Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson. Wilson had several off-field incidents during his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans. The trend showed signs of continuing into his time with the Dolphins.

The Titans were fed up with Isaiah Wilson’s inability to act like a professional and traded Wilson to the Miami Dolphins for an exchange of seventh-round picks.

In his brief stint with Miami, Isaiah Wilson showed up late to his physical, arrived late for orientation and missed voluntary workouts Wilson promised he would attend.

We hope Wilson can get some help in the coming months.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero detailed Wilson’s disappointing tenure with Miami:

The Tennessee Titans drafted the former Georgia football star No. 29 overall  in last year’s NFL draft, but Wilson played three snaps last season.

Wilson almost jumped off a two-story balcony to avoid police at a party in Aug. 2020. Next, Wilson was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for a second time. He then crashed his car into a wall, receiving a DUI in the process.

In Oct. 2020, Wilson totaled his car in another car accident. On Dec. 2020, he was suspended by the Titans for violating team rules and was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list. Wilson was caught partying on a boat on New Year’s Eve leading up to a key Week 17 game with NFL postseason implications.

The Tennessee Titans look at Wilson as a first-round bust. The good news was Wilson had a chance to learn from his mistakes with the Miami Dolphins, but he immediately squandered that opportunity.

The Dolphins gave Wilson a shot and his behavior did not improve. Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores, who attended Wilson’s high school, was unable to fix Wilson’s issues.

What’s next for Wilson goes far beyond football and we wish him luck.

Titans fans, get to know your new OT Isaiah Wilson

The Tennessee Titans selected Georgia OT Isaiah Wilson with the 29th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Thursday night, the Tennessee Titans picked Georgia OT Isaiah Wilson with the 29th pick in this year’s NFL draft.

Wilson is declared for the draft as only a red-shirt sophomore. Yes, he is young, but at 6-foot-7 340 pounds, he has the strength and quickness to contribute to any NFL offensive line and could be an All-Pro tackle given the time.

Wilson, a former 5-star recruit from Brooklyn, New York, red-shirted his first year at Georgia and then burst onto the scene in 2018 and was named to both the Football Writers Assn. of America Freshman All-America Team and 2018 Coaches Freshman All-SEC Team. Injuries bothered Wilson in 2019, but he still earned Associated Press All-SEC 2nd Team honors.

NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. wrote:

“So, I think if you get him in the second round, then you’ve got yourself a player that you think has a bright future. If he’s brought along at a nice pace and coached up, there’s a lot of talent to work with there.”

Something that Titans fans should note is that Wilson is not only a young, talented player, he is also a good teammate.

Wilson said:

“My teammates, they’re brothers to me, they’re not just teammates, It was tough to decide I was going to forego my last year. It was tough knowing I’d be leaving my teammates behind. That made this decision definitely tough for me. But ultimately, I decided I was just ready to go to work, and to start trying to attack the next level of my life.”

Thursday, the Tennessee Titans selected Georgia OT Isaiah Wilson with the 29th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

With the 29th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, theTennessee Titans select Isaiah Wilson, offensive tackle from the University of Georgia.

The red-shirt sophomore decided to declare for this year’s draft early and now he will join a long line of Georgia offensive lineman in the NFL.

Wilson played 25 games at Georgia and was named to the  Football Writers Assn. of America Freshman All-America Team as a red-shirt freshman and in 2019 was named to the Associated Press All-SEC 2nd Team.

NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said:

“I think if you get him in the second round, then you’ve got yourself a player that you think has a bright future. If he’s brought along at a nice pace and coached up, there’s a lot of talent to work with there.”

Todd McShay releases two-round NFL mock draft: Three Bulldogs players taken

ESPN’s Todd McShay released his most recent two round NFL mock draft with three Georgia football players taken.

We have finally made it to NFL Draft month, and with no sports taking place the excitement over the 2020 draft is at an all-time high.

NFL Free Agency came and went but provided us with entertainment for a few short days while many were hunkered down at home avoiding coronavirus.

With teams filling needs, free agency provided everyone – from teams, players, fans and draft analyst – a better look at how the NFL Draft will play out at the end of the month.

ESPN Draft Analyst Todd McShay released his latest two-round NFL mock draft last week and had three former Georgia football players being selected in those first two rounds.

7 Georgia Bulldogs taken in CBSSports’ full NFL mock draft

CBS Sports released a full NFL mock draft that included 7 Georgia football players being taken.

Most NFL mock drafts that we’ve seen over the past couple of months have had 2-3 Georgia football players going in the first round.

However, in CBS Sports’ most recent 7-round mock draft, the outlet has just one Dawg taken in the first round, and that’s left tackle Andrew Thomas.

Analyst Chris Trapasso projects the New York Jets to take Thomas with the No. 11 overall pick in the NFL Draft, which is currently scheduled for April 23 in Las Vegas.

On Thomas, Trapasso wrote:

Jets GM Joe Douglas knows how vital an offensive line is after his time in Philadelphia. Thomas was outstanding the two seasons at Georgia and has length for days.

Trapasso has Thomas ranked as the 15th overall player in the draft class and 4th ranked offensive tackle.

In total, Trapasso has seven Georgia players going in the draft.
