Bills open as multi-TD favorite over Falcons in Week 17

#Bills open as multi-TD favorite over #Falcons in Week 17:

[mm-video type=playlist id=01eqbw1j59gmjw5gdj player_id=none image=https://billswire.usatoday.com/wp-content/plugins/mm-video/images/playlist-icon.png]

Coming off of a huge win, the Buffalo Bills are big favorites over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17.

The Bills (9-6) still have work to do, but their 33-21 victory over the New England Patriots was their most important one to date.

But if Buffalo doesn’t keep adding to it, it will mean nothing.

With that in mind, as far as the sportsbooks are concerne, they think the Bills are going to keep rolling against the Falcons (7-8).

The Bills have opened a 14-point favorite over Atlanta ahead of their next game. That line comes to us via Tipico Sportsbook (access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list).

The Falcons themselves are coming off a win as well. But it wasn’t as notable. Atlanta beat the lowly Detroit Lions, and only to the tune of a 20-16.

They had to hang on in the end, too. Not exactly a convincing type of victory.

That is certainly amongst the reasons why the Bills are being favored so heavily over the Falcons.

In addition to the spread, the over/under sits at a 44.5 opening. The moneyline is Bills (-1000) and Falcons (+660).

Dolphins now favored against Saints after COVID-19 issues worsen

The Saints are now home underdogs against the Dolphins at Tipico as their COVID-19 issues worsen:

[mm-video type=video id=01fqpn6rr3h5a30z4zva playlist_id=01eqbyahgz6p2j3xp7 player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fqpn6rr3h5a30z4zva/01fqpn6rr3h5a30z4zva-1a4e872c283857aa03aff986f9f33276.jpg]

Yikes. The New Orleans Saints initially opened up as narrow home favorites against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, but they’re now home underdogs after a dozen players entered COVID-19 protocols — including their top two quarterbacks. Tipico Sportsbook now has the Dolphins favored by 2.5 points at the Caesars Superdome, as of 11 a.m. CT on Friday, Dec. 24.

That represents a 6-point swing from the opening line, when the Saints were favored by 3.5. Take this new spread with the adjusted over/under of 37.5 (a slight drop in itself) and you’ve got an implied final score of Miami 21, New Orleans 17.

It’s hardly ideal, but that’s where the Saints are. Their offense has been nearly defanged with top weapons unavailable like wide receivers Michael Thomas (season-ending injury) and Deonte Harris (serving an NFL suspension), plus tight ends Adam Trautman and Juwan Johnson (both on the COVID-19 reserve list). The Saints don’t even have the threat of Taysom Hill as a runner to fall back on as he’s also entered COVID-19 protocols. The heightened pressure on Alvin Kamara is titanic.

Hopefully the Saints can find some answers to all the problems in front of them. They badly need a win to keep themselves in the playoff race, or at least to keep their heads above water after fighting back to .500.

On Site: It’s Jonathan Taylor’s world and bettors are just living in it

The star tailback takes center stage against the Cardinals.

Week 16 sees the Arizona Cardinals (-1.5) take on the Indianapolis Colts and star tailback Jonathan Taylor, who continues to power the offense. The Colts enter as slight underdogs, but one worth feeling confident in against an NFC powerhouse.

Packers open as 7.5-point favorites over Browns in Week 16

The Packers are 7.5-point favorites over the Browns on Christmas Day, per @Tipico.

Betting markets are confident in the Green Bay Packers winning at home – and winning comfortably – on Christmas Day.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Packers opened as 7.5-point favorites over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15. The over/under is set at 44.5 points.

The Packers, fresh off an NFC North-clinching win over the Baltimore Ravens, are now 11-3 and cruising, while the Browns, who lost on a late field goal to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, are now 7-7 and in real danger of missing of the postseason.

Kevin Stefanski’s team is equal parts depleted and desperate, making the Browns a potentially dangerous opponent. But the Packers are unbeaten at home this season over six games, with an average win margin of almost 14 points.

Also, consider this: The Packers have covered the spread in all six games at Lambeau Field this season.

Overall, Matt LaFleur’s team is 3-0 straight up against the AFC North this season, including a 10-point win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in October.

The Browns are just 6-8 against the spread this season, including a 1-4 mark over the last five games. But Cleveland did cover the spread as a road underdog in three games, including games in Kansas City, Minnesota and Cincinnati.

It’s possible this line could fluctuate as the Browns get back players – including quarterback Baker Mayfield – from the COVID-19 reserve list.

The Packers and Browns are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Lambeau Field.
