Giants report card: How we graded Big Blue in Week 4 loss

The New York Giants fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 24-3, in Week 4 and the Giants Wire team grades reflect that comeback performance.

The New York Giants were blown out once again in prime time, this time on Monday Night Football to the Seattle Seahawks.

Big Blue fell, 24-3, in a home loss to Seattle. This was once again a game where the Giants failed to get anything going. The team came out flat and never improved.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what we saw during the game and how we graded the Giants in this loss.

Giants fall to Seahawks, 24-3, in latest prime time embarrassment

The New York Giants once again humiliated themselves on national TV, this time falling to the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 24-3.

The New York Giants hosted the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium on Monday Night Football in a matchup of 2022 NFC playoff teams.

The Giants played again without their All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley (ankle).

But all of that was the least of their worries. The Giants were once again humiliated on national television, soundly beaten in all three phases of the game and completely out-coached. It was their worst performance in more than a decade.

With the loss, the Giants fall to 1-3 on the season.

Studs and duds from Giants’ Week 3 loss vs. 49ers

Here’s a look at the studs and duds (and studly duds) from a 30-12 loss for the New York Giants against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3.

The New York Giants fell to the San Francisco 49ers, 30-12, on Thursday night, dropping their record to 1-2 on the season. It was another ugly showing and the injury bug bit hard, so things look murky for the team moving forward.

There was a lot more bad than good on the night, so the next 10-plus days will be a bit rough for the Giants and their fans. National media is not going to take it easy.

Here’s a look at some studs and duds (and studly duds) from the game.

Stock up, down after Giants’ 32-24 preseason loss to Jets

Whose stock is up and whose is down following the New York Giants’ loss to the New York Jets in Week 3 of the preseason?

The New York Giants closed out their preseason with an injury-riddled 32-24 loss to the New York Jets on Saturday night.

The game itself — and the injuries — were overshadowed by the Jets debut of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who got into it with Giants linebacker Jihad Ward at one point. Both refused to talk about the incident after the game.

For several players, it was their final opportunity to earn a spot on the 53-man roster and, potentially, the final game of their career. Others played hard and opened eyes, potentially earning them a roster spot — either with the Giants or elsewhere.

Whose stock is up and whose is down after the preseason loss? Let’s take a look.

7 Giants on the roster bubble heading into first preseason game

Here’s a look at seven New York Giants players on the roster bubble headed into their Friday night preseason game against the Detroit Lions.

The New York Giants open their preseason on Friday night against the Detroit Lions following two joint practices earlier this week.

It remains unclear who head coach Brian Daboll will play and who he won’t, but it’s a safe bet that players on the roster bubble will see extended time. The Giants have several tough decisions to make in a few weeks and would like to compile as much information as possible.

It’s make-or-break time for a number of players, including the following seven who are firmly on the bubble. Some will play, potentially helping their chances, and at least one will not.

9 Giants players who need a strong training camp

These nine New York Giants players need to shine during training camp or risk being buried on the depth chart or worse.

The New York Giants will soon return to the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey for their 2023 training camp.

For many players, the impression made on coaches and front-office executives over the summer will determine their future with the organization. Even some of the established veterans and recent signees will have something to prove as they convene to lay the foundation for the second season under general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.

Some will look to prove they’ve made progress since they joined the team. Others will look to prove they’re better than the rookies brought in at their respective positions. Training camp will ultimately paint a clear picture of the best players.

Here are nine Giants players who need to have a strong training camp for one reason or another.

Giants place Shane Lemieux on IR, sign Jarrad Davis from Lions’ practice squad

The New York Giants have placed OL Shane Lemieux (toe) on IR, ending his season, and signed LB Jarrad Davis from the Lions’ practice squad.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed on Wednesday that offensive lineman Shane Lemieux is headed to season-ending injured reserve.

The 25-year-old Lemieux missed the team’s first nine games after undergoing surgery to repair an injured toe during the preseason. He was activated for a Week 11 matchup with the Detroit Lions but reinjured his toe during that game.

The Giants had hoped to get Lemieux back this season but ultimately decided to pull the plug.

A fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Lemieux has seen action in just two games over the past two seasons. He missed 16 games last year as the result of a knee injury.

Lemieux is in the third year of his four-year rookie contract.

In a corresponding roster move, the Giants have signed linebacker Jarrad Davis off of the Detroit Lions’ practice squad.

Davis, a first-round pick of the Lions in the 2017 NFL draft, has appeared in three games this season and recorded just three tackles. He spent last season with the New York Jets.

In 67 career games (50 starts), Davis has recorded 333 tackles (220 solo, 19 for a loss), 23 QB hits, 10.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, 10 passes defended and one interception.
