It’s Tuesday, September 8 and today’s play of the day comes from Georgia versus LSU in their 2018 matchup in Death Valley.

No. 5 Georgia faced one of the most difficult tasks in college football – No. 11 LSU at home.

Holyfield looked like a monster for the Bulldogs, but after missing two early touchdown opportunities, Georgia was forced to play comeback ball, which kept the ball in the air and out of the hands of Holyfield.

LSU held on to win 36-16, serving as a spark that would propel the Bulldogs to an SEC title and national title run.

It’s Tuesday, September 1, just 25 days until Georgia football is scheduled to kick off versus Arkansas.

Today’s play of the day comes from the 2017 SEC Championship game which featured No. 6 Georgia and No. 2 Auburn.

Auburn had thrashed the Bulldogs in their annual regular season matchup 40-17, so Georgia was looking for some redemption this time around.

We pick up early in the second quarter with the Tigers up 7-0. Auburn has controlled the pace of the game so far and faces a third and six from the Georgia 14 yard line.

A turning point for Georgia who would go on to score 28 unanswered points and secure its first SEC title since 2005. Truly an outstanding defensive performance by the Bulldogs in this one.

Auburn star quarterback Jarret Stidham was held to 145 yards passing and the Tigers offense tallied just 259 total yards.

It’s Monday, August 10 and today’s play of the day comes from Georgia versus Auburn in 2019.

No. 4 Georgia entered Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn with a two-game winning streak versus the Tigers, while fighting for an SEC East title with rival Florida.

It was Georgia ball from the Bulldogs’ 48 yard line with 6:09 remaining, 0-0 the score.

The Bulldogs would almost shut Auburn out, giving up the only Tigers scores in the fourth quarter, but still walked away with a 21-14 win behind quarterback Jake Fromm’s three passing touchdowns and two late stops by the Georgia defense. Running back D’Andre Swift also added 106 yards on 17 carries.

Georgia football play of the day – Georgia vs Vanderbilt (2002)

It’s Wednesday, Aug. 5 and today’s play of the day comes from 2002, when the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs faced the Vanderbilt Commodores in front of a sellout crowd at Sanford Stadium.

On the first play of the second quarter in a 7-7 game, Georgia star quarterback David Greene sells one of the cleanest play fakes you’ll ever see.

The Bulldogs would go on to win 48-17, led by a three touchdown performance from Greene.

The 2002 Bulldogs would finish 13-1, complete with an SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl win under head coach Mark Richt.

It’s Wednesday, July 22 and today’s play of the day comes from Georgia at South Carolina in 2018.

Only the second game of the 2018 season, No. 24 South Carolina had just entered the AP Poll’s top 25 and Georgia was ranked No. 3 after ITSnational title run in 2017.

UGA had a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter when Georgia star running back D’Andre Swift took a shotgun hand off up the left side of the South Carolina defense for a score.
