The Ravens returned to the field for live game action for the first time since their heartbreaking, 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game.
Baltimore hosted Philadelphia at M&T Bank Stadium, with both teams on similar arcs, and championship paths. Starting quarterback Lamar Jackson sat out along with key starters on both sides of the football.
Eagles kicker Jake Elliott made a 49-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Philadelphia Eagles a 16-13 victory after Baltimore quarterback Emory Jones — who had just entered the game — was sacked and fumbled on the next play.
The recovery by Patrick Johnson gave Elliott his final opportunity of the night.
With Baltimore set to start preparation for the Falcons in the second week of the preseason, we’re looking at the top photos from Friday night.

Baltimore Ravens rookie Nate Wiggins will tested by Philadelphia Eagles WR’s Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith in their upcoming exhibition game.
The Baltimore Ravens intentionally drafted to replenish their depth chart at the defensive back position earlier this spring. They’ll get a chance to see the implications of the 2024 NFL draft when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in their preseason opener tonight.

Ravens’ rookie Nate Wiggins will tested by Eagles’ rookie wide receivers, including Johnny Wilson and former Texas A&M speedster Ainias Smith. Earlier this spring, I suggested that the Ravens draft Smith because his upside makes him an asset in special teams even if he does not make the frequent rotation needed in the 11-man personnel on offense. Nevertheless, Wilson’s game is a little different from Smith’s. Standing six feet six inches tall, Wilson creates an offensive nightmare for defensive backs, and with Ravens’ rookie wide receiver Devontez Walker already terrorizing Wiggins at practice, Wilson may excel in week 1 of the NFL preseason.

For the Ravens, not much of an update has surfaced on Iowa State draftee defensive back T.J Tampa. Consequently, Ravens’ fans may see heavy playing time given to defensive back Jalyn Armour-Davis and 22-year-old safety Sanoussi Kane in the preseason debut.

Ultimately, it is presumptuous to assume the Ravens will be the same defensive powerhouse they were a season ago with zero evidence. In the preseason, veteran safety Eddie Jackson and defensive back Brandon Stephens may see extra reps to assist the second-string players with adjusting to the tenacity at the NFL level.

Baltimore Ravens’ 90-man roster at the start of 2024 training camp
The Baltimore Ravens have officially reported to the Under Armour Performance Center for the start of training camp with the first practice scheduled for Sunday morning.
There will be starting jobs and roster spots up for grabs, which should make for some intriguing position battles throughout camp and the preseason.
Currently, the Ravens have 90 players on their roster, and that will be trimmed down to 53 ahead of the start of the regular season, and by August 27.
With training camp underway, here’s an updated look at the Ravenss’ initial 90-man roster at the start of training camp, organized by jersey number.

Value is an integral part of the draft process. Understanding the board is vital to judging how teams maximized value during the draft.
Establishing actual “value” on NFL draft prospects is incredibly difficult, with all 32 NFL teams having different schemes, cultures, and ideas of what elite talent looks like.
Arif Hasan of Wide Left Football creates the go-to consensus board, ranking the top 300 players in the draft class based on 101 big boards from draft analysts. As Hasan noted, “the consensus of these experts does a better predictive job than individual experts.”

The Dolphins hosted a pair of potential Day 3 draft picks Wednesday.
The Miami Dolphins reportedly hosted two potential Day 3 selections Wednesday with the 2024 NFL draft just a week away.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Dolphins hosted Tennessee wide receiver RaMel Keyton. Tony Pauline of SportsKeeda says Pursue safety Sanoussi Kane also visited Miami.
Keyton was listed by Tennessee at 6’3, 197 pounds and finished with collegiate career with 86 receptions for 1,456 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Kane was listed by Purdue at 6’0, 215 pounds and recorded 11 tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, and 10 pass deflections during his collegiate career.
Neither player was invited to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.
The Dolphins have been on the hunt for another wide receiver to complement the stellar duo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. While they’ve entertained the idea of signing Odell Beckham Jr. and reportedly expressed interest in Tyler Boyd, Miami has also brought in a few receiver prospects for visits leading up to the draft.
It’d also make sense to hunt for safety help, as veteran Jordan Poyer was signed to a one-year deal as a stopgap solution at the team’s strong safety spot.
In recent seven-round mock drafts from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler and ESPN’s Matt Miller, neither Keyton nor Kane were selected.
