Seven Georgia Bulldogs make the Senior Bowl

More information on all the seven Georgia Bulldogs participating in the Senior Bowl.

The Senior Bowl is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. In the Senior Bowl, several Georgia Bulldogs are looking to improve their draft stock.

The Georgia Bulldogs have seven players that accepted Senior Bowl invitations, which is the second most of any college football team besides the Oregon Ducks.

Who are all of the UGA players that accepted Senior Bowl invitations:

Safety Dan Jackson

The hard-hitting safety accepted his Senior Bowl invite on Jan. 18th. Jackson started his career with Georgia in 2019. In his first two years, he was a member of the scout team, but he emerged as a rotational secondary piece in 2021-23.

In 2024, he earned the starting strong safety job, totaling 64 sacks, three passes deflected, a forced fumble, and two interceptions. He earned himself a third-team All-SEC honors as a result.

Defensive end Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins surprisingly declared for the NFL draft. Starting in 2022, he earned significant snaps as a rotation edge rusher and defensive end, sometimes even starting.

In his career, he racked up 39 tackles, three passes deflected, four sacks and two forced fumbles. His biggest game was against Kentucky in 2024, when he had a sack and five pressures.

In his first season with the Bulldogs (2021), Mondon was the reserve defender and player on kick return coverage units. In 2022, he became a full-time starter at linebacker. He had his best stretch of linebacker play during Georgia’s postseason run, where he totaled 18 tackles, a sack, and an interception.

Mondon has battled through injuries in the past, but when healthy, he is a quality linebacker with three years of starting experience and a knack for rushing the quarterback. He is projected to be a fourth-round draft pick.

Offensive guard Tate Ratledge

Ratledge has been a starting guard for the Bulldogs since 2021, and he’s built up quite the resume with the Bulldogs. In three seasons starting, he earned two All-American nominations, earned the Coaches’ First-Team All SEC selection in 2024 despite only playing in nine games.

Ratledge is projected to be a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

Center Jared Wilson

Jared Wilson is a little more inexperienced than Ratledge, but he was still one of the standout linemen for Georgia in 2023 and 2024. Entering Week 14, he was the highest graded center in the Power Four in 2024, allowing zero sacks. Wilson is projected to be a fourth-round pick.

Running back Trevor Etienne

Etienne, along with Ingram-Dawkins, was another surprise inclusion in the Senior Bowl due to previous reports of him staying at Georgia. Regardless, Etienne was a great downhill runner with both Florida and Georgia.

He had a disappointing season with injuries and off-the-field issues in 2024, but when healthy, he provided stability in the running game. Against Texas in the SEC championship, he ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown.

Wide receiver Arian Smith

Arian Smith, who was Georgia’s leading receiver in 2024, has been a Bulldog since 2020. Because of the COVID year, Smith had one more year of eligibility, but he decided to forgo it to enter the draft.

Smith earned snaps starting his freshman year, but he never evolved into a starting wide receiver until 2024. As senior, he totaled 817 yards on 48 receptions. Despite struggling with drops, he was a great route runner and the premier deep threat with Georgia.

Georgia standout WR Arian Smith accepts Senior Bowl Invitation

Georgia Bulldogs standout wide receiver Arian Smith plans to play in the 2025 Senior Bowl. Smith is the third Georgia player to accept an invitation to the Senior Bowl, which will be played in Mobile, Alabama, on Feb. 1, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Smith, who is from Bradley, Florida, began his Georgia career in 2021.  Based on his acceptance of a Senior Bowl invitation, he will likely be entering the 2025 NFL draft.

Smith has been in a limited role in his previous years at Georgia, but aplayed in all 14 games in 2024. His most memorable performance was the 2022 Peach Bowl. Smith recorded three catches for 129 yards and a touchdown during a thrilling 42-41 victory over Ohio State. His 76-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter narrowed Ohio State’s lead to three points. After the Buckeyes managed a field goal on the following drive, it set the stage for the Bulldogs to seize the lead on their next possession.

Smith was a starter for the Georgia offense in 2024. He has only missed the College Football Playoff once and is a two-time national champion. Smith, who also ran track at Georgia, has a chance to run one of the fastest 40-yard dashes at the NFL combine.

The Senior Bowl is an annual predraft scrimmage. Tons of NFL draft scouts and executives attend the event.

Total of 5 Oregon Ducks named to Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list

A total of five Oregon Ducks have been placed on the Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list ahead of the season.

With less than a week until the 2022 college football season getting off the ground, one of the more anticipated watch lists for the nation’s veteran players has been released.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list features 484 players who deserve to be focused on ahead of next year’s 2023 NFL Draft. It is a compilation of the “best of the best” draft prospects who will be eligible to play in the annual Senior Bowl after the season is over, giving them arguably the biggest stage — aside from the NFL Combine — to showcase their skills and offer NFL teams a chance to evaluate them.

While the Oregon Ducks are a young team, there is a handful of guys who made the list, five in total. Here’s who is on the watch list.

One of the best players on the Oregon Ducks 2021 roster is getting a boost heading into the 2022 NFL draft. He was added to the Senior Bowl roster on Tuesday.

Verone McKinley, who finished the 2021 season with 44 tackles and 6 interceptions in 14 games, will be among the best veteran players in college football looking to enhance their draft value in the senior showcase, which is orchestrated by NFL coaches and GMs as they get an up-close look at some of the talent coming into the draft.

McKinley is among the best safeties in the upcoming draft class, having finished his college career with 100 total tackles, 11 interceptions and 21 passes defended. This early, it’s hard to project where he might go in the draft, but it’s hard to believe he would slip past the fourth or fifth round.

The 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl was played on Saturday, showcasing the top senior college football players from around the country.

Three Georgia Bulldogs took part in the event, which featured a week of practice before the game on Saturday, a National team 27-24 win.

Tight end Tre McKitty, defensive back Mark Webb and cornerback D.J. Daniel represented the Bulldogs with McKitty and Daniel earning honors as the top player at their respective position during practice.

Event president Jim Nagy said the awards were determined by the team’s receivers.

Daniel went on to have a solid game covering some of the most talented receivers in the country, which should help his draft stock ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft that is scheduled to take place from Thursday, April 29 to Saturday, May 1.

While at Georgia Daniel fought for playing time with highly rated draft prospects Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell, but the Griffin, Ga., native played well when he was given the chance.

In 21 games played at Georgia, Daniel racked up 51 tackles, three tackles for a loss with nine passes defended.

The 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl is scheduled for January 30th and will showcase a large number of college football’s top NFL Draft prospects.

Last year representing the Dawgs was defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter, long snapper Nick Moore, and kicker Rodrigo Blankenship.

Former NFL scouting director Jim Nagy runs the show as the event consists of a week of practice and competition drills leading up to the game, allowing players who are classified as seniors or graduates to impress numerous NFL scouts and general managers.

Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, players will be able to return to school next year without losing a year of eligibility, which likely means that a number of these players will be headed back to college to up their draft stock.

Many more Georgia seniors are expected to be sent invites to showcase their skills in the coming weeks.  Some that are expected to receive invites are Senior cornerback DJ Daniel, senior safety Richard LeCounte, senior outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson, senior inside linebacker Monty Rice, senior defensive back Mark Webb, senior defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt, and fifth-year senior wideout Demetris Robertson.

Wisconsin T Cole Van Lanen named to Reese’s Senior Bowl 250 player watchlist

At the end of every season, the Reese’s Senior Bowl provides a way for senior college football players to showcase their talent for NFL scouts and head coaches against other elite college competition before the NFL Combine.

Wisconsin offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen made this year’s watchlist for the prestigious game after having two phenomenal years as the left tackle for the Badgers.

Van Lanen has seen his draft stock rise this offseason even with the postponement of Big Ten football as he has been named a Walter Camp Preseason First Team All American, as well as has been named to the watchlist for the Outland Trophy that goes to the best interior lineman in college football.

Expectations were extremely high this season for the Green Bay, Wisc. native, but the postponement of the season until the spring likely means the end of Van Lanen’s college career at Wisconsin. Van Lanen currently has a second-round draft prediction by Pro Football Focus, and it will be interesting to see how opting out of the spring season could impact his draft stock.

Van Lanen has shown in his time at Wisconsin that he is an elite offensive tackle in college football and his naming to the watchlist for the Reese’s Senior Bowl means that NFL scouts and analysts believe that he will be successful at the next level.

It is something to note that Eric Burrell another senior on the roster, who has been named two watchlists for the top defensive back and defensive player in the country, was not included in this watchlist.

Beloved Georgia football player accepts Senior Bowl invitation

Highly-respect Georgia football kicker Rodrigo Blankenship accepts Senior Bowl invitation

The Reese’s Senior Bowl, one of the most prestigious post-season scouting games for NFL Draft prospects, has extended an invitation to Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship.

‘Hot Rod’ accepted the offer Tuesday, becoming the first Bulldog kicker in over 10 years to represent Georgia in the event.

Blankenship is currently a perfect 198/198 on extra points for the Dawgs and 78/95 on field goal attempts. Though his numbers may have slightly dipped from his outstanding sophomore season, the beloved place kicker is still one of, if not the best in the nation right now.

No matter what happens in the Sugar Bowl against Baylor, everyone can agree Georgia will certainly miss this Damn Good Dawg.
