Former UGA kicker Rodrigo Blankenship posts hilarious picture with Seattle WR DK Metcalf

Indianapolis Colts kicker Rodrigo Blakenship has a great sense of humor. Blankenship, a former Georgia Bulldog, posted a photo of him and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf on Instagram.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Indianapolis Colts 28-16 partially thanks to DK Metcalf’s four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown. Rodrigo Blankenship made his one field goal attempt and his only extra point attempt for Indianapolis.

Following the game, the duo met on the field for a photo that shows how different NFL players can look, yet still play the same game.

It has been quite the rookie NFL season for former Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship.

After being passed on in the 2020 NFL Draft, Blankenship signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent.  The Georgia legend is now starting to make a name for himself around the NFL.

Hot Rod drilled a game winning 39 yard field goal against the Packers on Sunday to secure a 34 – 31 victory in overtime.

Blankenship has been money all year, going 19/21 (90.5%) on field goals and 23/25 (92%) on extra points so far.  He leads the NFL in points scored with 94 total points.  That’s pretty good for the walk-on, undrafted free agent out of Athens.

The NFL has officially been put on notice.  It’s time to start respecting the specs.

Beloved Georgia football player accepts Senior Bowl invitation

Highly-respect Georgia football kicker Rodrigo Blankenship accepts Senior Bowl invitation

The Reese’s Senior Bowl, one of the most prestigious post-season scouting games for NFL Draft prospects, has extended an invitation to Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship.

‘Hot Rod’ accepted the offer Tuesday, becoming the first Bulldog kicker in over 10 years to represent Georgia in the event.

Blankenship is currently a perfect 198/198 on extra points for the Dawgs and 78/95 on field goal attempts. Though his numbers may have slightly dipped from his outstanding sophomore season, the beloved place kicker is still one of, if not the best in the nation right now.

No matter what happens in the Sugar Bowl against Baylor, everyone can agree Georgia will certainly miss this Damn Good Dawg.
