2024 NFL mock draft: Seahawks go best player available in 3-round projections

The Seahawks still have a lot of work to do if they’re going to catch up with the true contenders around the league.

The Seahawks still have a lot of work to do if they’re going to catch up with the true contenders around the league. Most of all, that will require a good haul of prospects in the 2024 NFL draft. If they can pull it off, that would make three-straight strong draft classes by Seattle for the first time since the formative Legion of Boom years in 2010-2012.

It’s easier said than done, but if the Seahawks can manage a true Best Player Available strategy in the draft, it would certainly help. Going into our latest mock, we aimed to trade down a couple times to improve the quality of our picks, if not necessarily the quantity. Once on the clock we stuck to a strict best player available approach – drafting the highest-ranked player on the board regardless of position with two small exceptions: no running backs and no double-dipping at any one position.

In the end, we dramatically improved both the offensive and defensive line units with two good prospects coming in for each. Here’s the full 100-pick mock.

Several former Ducks schedule upcoming visits with NFL teams

It’s visit season in the NFL with less than a month until the 2024 NFL Draft. Check out where these Ducks are flying.

The NFL Draft is less than one month away, and college prospects from around the country are finalizing their preparations for the 2024 draft by showcasing their skills at pro days and meeting with NFL teams.

For the Oregon Ducks, the 2024 NFL Draft is shaping up to be a historic one. More than 10 Ducks have the potential to be drafted, and for the first time since 2015, we could see multiple Ducks selected in the first round.

On Wednesday, it was announced that several Ducks will be visiting with NFL teams in the coming weeks. Each NFL team can extend up to thirty invites to draft prospects to tour their facilities, meet with the team, and take a physical. These meetings are called top 30 visits.

According to James Crepea of the Oregonian, defensive linemen Brandon Dorlus and Taki Taimani each have top 30 visits on the books, and outside linebacker Mase Funa will be participating in the Los Angeles Chargers prospect day. Muck Sports Representation also announced that inside linebacker Jamal Hill will be taking part in the Atlanta Falcons’ prospect day and taking multiple top 30 visits.

A month before the draft, Dorlus is expected to be a second or third-round pick, but the other three players mentioned are on the fringe of being selected, so impressing teams in these visits will be crucial. Hill has already done a good job of raising his draft stock this offseason, running an elite 4.41-second 40-yard dash at Oregon’s Pro Day two weeks ago.

2024 Scouting Combine: Which DL, EDGE, and LB helped themselves the most?

INDIANAPOLIS — For some draft prospects, the scouting combine on-field drills are mere confirmation for NFL teams looking to add a bit to positive tape study and personal interviews. For others, it’s a bigger deal, as great numbers might have some personnel people going back to that tape to see what they might have missed the first time around.

On Thursday afternoon and evening, we saw the defensive linemen, edge defenders, and off-ball linebackers do their thing on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium. While a lot of prospects acquitted themselves well, here are the ones who did the most to stand out, and to potentially see their stocks rise through the next two months before the 2024 NFL draft is in the bag.

Assessing Brandon Dorlus’ performance at the 2024 NFL Combine

A look at Oregon Ducks DL Brandon Dorlus’ measurements and results at the 2024 NFL Combine, and how he helped his draft stock.

The 2024 NFL Combine got underway for the Oregon Ducks on Thursday, with Brandon Dorlus leading the way, hitting the field for some drills and getting his measurables taken.

Dorlus performed pretty well, really impressing scouts with his speed among defensive tackles in the 40-yard dash. While his jumping was not quite up to par with his speed, Dorlus showed some nice mobility and fluidity in the on-field drills as well.

In the end, Dorlus received a solid combine score, with the tag of “good backup with a potential to turn into a starter,” according to NFL.com.

Here is a look at the final numbers from the NFL combine for Dorlus.

Duck fans, NFL draft analysts react as Bo Nix, Evan Williams show out in Senior Bowl

Both Bo Nix and Evan Williams put on a show during the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Saturday, drawing a nice reaction from Oregon Duck fans online.

It’s been a great week for former Oregon Ducks down in Mobile, Alabama while the Reese’s Senior Bowl practices went on, with many of the players improving their draft stock a ton leading up to April.

However, it was only quarterback Bo Nix and safety Evan Williams who ended up playing in the actual Senior Bowl on Saturday, with Jackson Powers-Johnson, Khyree Jackson, and Brandon Dorlus choosing to sit out for various reasons.

That didn’t stop the highlights from pouring in, though.

In just a couple of series under center, Nix was impressive, completing four of his five passes with a touchdown and only one incompletion that came on a perfectly thrown deep ball that was dropped.

Meanwhile, Williams was all over the field making tackles and he came up with a big-time interception in the first half as well.

Here’s how Oregon fans and NFL draft analysts reacted to the Oregon Ducks’ performances on Saturday afternoon.
