Wisconsin football offers a 2025 defensive lineman from Illinois

The Badgers added to their 2025 offer list late last week as they extended an offer to 2025 defensive lineman Brad Fitzgibbon. The Marist High School product will be visiting Wisconsin later this week, and now already has the official offer from the Badgers before he steps on campus.

Fitzgibbon is a 6-foot-3, 280-pound tackle who holds a number of offers from power programs. Those offers include Kansas State and Vanderbilt at this point in the process. Fitzgibbon mentioned it was an amazing visit and conversation with defensive line coach Greg Scruggs, who joined Wisconsin last season, that led to an offer from the Badgers:

Wisconsin football is one of the top programs in the nation when it comes to consistency

The one thing Wisconsin football has not had over the past two decades of coaching changes, close wins and losses, and a revolving door of players? A losing season. Wisconsin is currently second in the country in terms of consecutive winning seasons as they have rattled off 22 straight winning seasons. The only school ahead of them is one you may not have guessed. The Boise State Broncos currently hold the longest winning season streak at 26 consecutive years without a losing record.

Wisconsin is ahead of notable names such as SEC dynasties in Georgia and Alabama, Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Iowa, and a number of other big-name programs:

A Wisconsin Badger is officially headed to Super Bowl LVIII

With the Kansas City Chiefs clinching their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five seasons by taking out the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, former Wisconsin star and current Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal punched his ticket to Super Bowl LVIII.

Chenal, who had a pair of tackles in the 17-10 win, has been an essential part of a defense that has been forced to carry Kansas City multiple times throughout this season.

On the year, the second-year pro has a trio of sacks and 40 tackles for a Chiefs team has had to win games on the defensive side of the ball. Chenal won Super Bowl LVII with Kansas City last season, and he knew how to celebrate:

The latest betting odds as Wisconsin takes on LSU in ReliaQuest Bowl

The latest betting odds as Wisconsin takes on LSU in ReliaQuest Bowl

Wisconsin and LSU do battle on New Year’s Day in Florida as the teams square off in the ReliaQuest bowl. As is customary around bowl season, both squads will be missing key contributors headlined by Wisconsin missing running back Braelon Allen who is headed for the NFL, and the Tigers going without Heisman winner Jayden Daniels who is also preparing for the next level.

The betting odds have slowly moved in Wisconsin’s favor throughout the week, as the line began with LSU seen as double-digit favorites. Currently, across a number of books, the most popular line is sitting at LSU -9, meaning the Tigers are nine-point favorites on Monday.

Former Wisconsin football wide receiver Markus Allen officially announced his next school on Thursday.

He was with Wisconsin this past spring, but ultimately decided to enter the portal over the summer as the new coaching regime came in.

Allen will be heading to a notable community college program that has produced NFL talent in the past and is often a good stepping stone back to a great opportunity. He will head to Kansas to play for Butler Community College, which has produced notable professional names such as Demarcus Lawrence and Michael Gallup among others.

Allen will head to Kansas with three years of eligibility.

Wisconsin will take on LSU in ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Day

Wisconsin football officially has their bowl game, and based on how this season went a New Year’s Day game against an SEC opponent sounds impossible.

That, however, is exactly what the Badgers have in front of them as they take on No. 13 LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m. CT. LSU finished the season 9-3 and Wisconsin ended the year 7-5.

The game will be held in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Buccaneers.

By making a bowl game this season, Wisconsin keeps their now 22-year-old bowl streak alive. That streak is the third-longest in the nation.

No matter what Braelon Allen had decided to do this offseason, his place as a Badger legend was cemented.

Over the past three years, Allen has been the heart and soul of Wisconsin football, and there may have been no better example of that fact than this past Saturday’s rivalry win over Minnesota.

The Fond Du Lac native had his best performance of the season on Saturday, putting up 165 rushing yards on 26 carries and scoring a pair of touchdowns.

Allen, in a move that makes perfect sense, is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. He announced his decision via Twitter in a thank you video to Badger nation on Tuesday:

The Axe is back home where it belongs

A rough opening campaign for head coach Luke Fickell was salvaged over the last two weeks, culminating in Wisconsin’s 28-14 win over Minnesota and The Axe returning home to Madison.

The Badgers used the old school to get it done on the road on Saturday, behind 26 carries for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns from Braelon Allen who was likely playing in his last Battle for the Axe matchup.

For Luke Fickell, it was his first matchup for Paul Bunyan’s Axe, and the trophy will end up in the Madison, Wisconsin trophy case. The Axe is back where it belongs as the new Badger head coach celebrated with his team postgame:
