Miami Dolphins’ 2020 preseason schedule dates and times finalized

Miami Dolphins’ 2020 preseason schedule dates and times finalized

When the NFL announced the formal 2020 schedule for this fall, it came with a dynamic release of every primetime matchup and showdown along the way. But one thing it didn’t included was the formal scheduling of each team’s preseason schedule — that would be left for a later day.

Well, the time has come.

The final dates and times of the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 preseason schedule have been determined — here is the complete outlook of Miami’s 2020 tune-up showdowns set for the end of summer.

Friday, August 14: @ Atlanta Falcons, 7 PM EST

Thursday, August 20: vs Philadelphia Eagles, 7:30 PM EST

Thursday, August 27: vs. Detroit Lions, 7:30 PM EST

Thursday, September 3: @ New Orleans Saints, 8 PM EST

For the Dolphins, this preseason slate would be a valuable stretch to help the Dolphins test their readiness for the 2020 season. In the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dolphins have a great chance to test their depth. With the Lions, the Dolphins will get a team that aspires to have many similar strengths (thanks in part to a fellow Patriots alumni at head coach with Matt Patricia) and the Dolphins’ second and third stringers will earn a valuable chance to make the roster in a Week 4 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Of course, the health crisis in the United States still looms as a challenge for the NFL to reconcile to start on time, but the expectation at this point in time seems to be that the league can kick off without interruption by the beginning of the fall.

Whether or not these preseason exhibitions are included is still very much left to be determined. But at the very least now we have some target dates to work with.

Chiefs finalize 2020 preseason schedule

The preseason schedule is finalized with exact dates and times for the Chiefs, but so far no games have been picked up to be nationally televised.

The Kansas City Chiefs have finalized their 2020 preseason schedule. We knew which teams the Chiefs were playing and had a range of dates regarding when those games might take place. But now dates and times have been negotiated by the individual teams.

Here is a look at the finalized preseason schedule for Kansas City:

Week Opponent Date/Time Channel
1 vs. Cincinnati Bengals Saturday, Aug. 15 – 7:00 p.m. CT KSHB-TV
2 at Arizona Cardinals Saturday, Aug. 22 – 8:00 p.m. CT KSHB-TV
3 at Dallas Cowboys Saturday, Aug. 29 – 7:00 p.m. CT KSHB-TV
4 vs. Green Bay Packers Thursday, Sept. 3 – 7:00 p.m. CT KSHB-TV

Note that every game except the final week will take place on a Saturday. None of the Chiefs’ games were selected to be televised nationally on CBS, FOX, NBC or ESPN. It’s possible that NFL Network could still pick up a game to be nationally televised. Last season they carried 13 preseason games including the Week 2 game between the Chiefs and Steelers.

Dates and times for 3 Broncos preseason games have been set

Dates and times have been set for three of the Broncos’ four preseason games.

The San Francisco 49ers announced dates and times for their preseason games on Friday and the Denver Broncos are their first opponent.

In Week 1 of preseason, the Broncos are scheduled to host the 49ers on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 6:05 p.m. MT. All of Denver’s preseason games will be broadcast locally on 9News/KTVD-20.

The Chicago Bears also announced their preseason slate on Friday. In Week 2, the Broncos will host the Bears on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:05 p.m. Denver hopes to host Chicago for joint practices leading up to the game.

The Arizona Cardinals announced that their Week 4 showdown at home against the Broncos will be played on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m.

Denver’s only preseason game with a to-be-determined date and time is a Week 3 showdown on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. That game will be played sometime between Thursday, Aug. 27 and Sunday, Aug. 30.

Exact dates nailed down for first-ever Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium

The Las Vegas Raiders have announced their 2020 preseason schedule along with the first-ever game at Allegiant Stadium.

Along with the release of the 2020 regular-season schedule, the slate of preseason games was also released, but the dates were TBD.  Those games may not matter in terms of the Raiders’ record, but they matter in that they are to be the first-ever Raiders games played at the new Allegiant Stadium.

What we knew was they would be playing their first two preseason games as the Las Vegas Raiders in Seattle and San Francisco and the final two preseason games at home. Pushing the games to the end of the preseason allows for more time to ensure the stadium is ready, plus the team will have broken camp in Napa by then and officially moved to Vegas.

Thursday the team announce the exact dates for those first games.

The first-ever game at Allegiant Stadium is scheduled to be Thursday, August 27 against the Arizona Cardinals.

The second will be against the Rams on Thursday, September 3rd.

Any scheduled games are still an uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic shutting things down. It basically makes the entire preseason, and even the regular season a TBD situation. But the NFL has to move forward with a schedule should the season go off unaltered.

CBS lists Texas football in Preseason Top 25 rankings

The Longhorns are once again listed in the preseason Top 25 rankings, could this be the year that they’ll finally produce on the field?

Texas has seemingly reshaped their entire coaching staff this offseason. According to athletic director Chris Del Conte, it’s head coach Tom Herman’s one chance to do so. Continue reading “CBS lists Texas football in Preseason Top 25 rankings”

Jags, Bucs planning to have joint practices in the preseason

The Jags plan on traveling to their in-state rivals of the NFC to get in a couple joint practices in.

In NFL training camps, practicing against your teammates can get repetitive real fast, which is exactly why the Jacksonville Jaguars elect to have joint practices in the preseason. This year, they have plans to do so with a familiar team in the Tampa Bay Bucs before their Week 2 preseason game, who will host the Jags at AdventHealth Training Facility.

While it’s unclear as to when camps will start or what the process will be like, the Jags and Bucs appear to have a plan in place for when the league announces that players can return to their respective facilities.

The Jags and Bucs have been down this road together before as they had joint practices in Jacksonville before the 2017 season. The Jags also had joint practices with the New England Patriots that year, who then had current Bucs quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski. Later that season the Jags met the Patriots in the AFC Championship.

Needless to say, if there is NFL football, things should be interesting in the preseason as the Jags’ young secondary (and team in general) will get some quality looks as the Bucs are projected to be a postseason team.

Who is on the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 preseason schedule?

Who is on the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 preseason schedule?

The excitement surrounding the reveal of the Miami Dolphins’ 2020 schedule is understandable, but if all goes well for the NFL there will be preseason games set to be played before we kick off the regularly season in mid-September. The Dolphins are currently set to open their season against the New England Patriots in Week 1, but they’ll have plenty of tuneup opportunities provided the preseason can go off without interruption.

The final dates and times are to be determined, but here is the order of Miami’s scheduled opponents for the 2020 preseason schedule:

Week 1: @ Atlanta Falcons (Aug. 13-17)

Week 2: vs Philadelphia Eagles (Aug. 20-24)

Week 3: vs. Detroit Lions (Aug. 27-30)

Week 4: @ New Orleans Saints (Sept. 3-4)

The third week of the preseason is generally considered the dress rehearsal for NFL teams, it is commonplace for starters to play a full half or more of that contest. And with the ability of teams to effectively start training camp on time still somewhat up in the air, we may see teams take advantage of any preseason games to get their starters even more reps than usual.

The Eagles and Saints are expected to be heavy contenders in the NFC, so getting them on the schedule for Miami will potentially provide some valuable tests for the Dolphins to see where exactly they stand at the beginning of the season. No word yet on whether or not the Dolphins intend to participate in blended practices — but amid the current social distancing norms it is difficult to envision teams scheduling such events any time soon.

Denver Broncos 2020 Preseason Schedule

Here is the Broncos’ preseason schedule for 2020.

The NFL announced the Denver Broncos 2020 schedule on Thursday. The regular season games are the ones that count but the preseason games are obviously closer. Here’s a look at Denver’s exhibition schedule:

Game Week Date Television
Week 1: Broncos vs. 49ers Aug. 13-16 9News/KTVD-20
Week 2: Broncos vs. Bears Aug. 20-23 9News/KTVD-20
Week 3: Broncos @ Rams Aug. 27-30 9News/KTVD-20
Week 4: Broncos @ Cardinals Thursday, Sept. 3 9News/KTVD-20

Dates and times for the Broncos’ preseason schedule are expected to be finalized later this offseason. All of the team’s games will air locally on 9News/KTVD-20. In-market fans can stream the games using FuboTV (try it free).

Before facing Chicago in Week 2 of preseason, Denver is expected to host the Bears for joint practices in training camp, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. The Broncos are still hoping to start training camp on time in late July.

Denver also hosted Chicago for joint practices in 2018. Last year, the Broncos hosted the San Francisco 49ers for joint practices.

Chiefs’ 2020 preseason schedule revealed

A look at the Kansas City Chiefs’ preseason opponents.

It’s not yet clear if the preseason will take place as scheduled amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but the NFL is planning as if it will. Dates and times are still to be determined as those are negotiated by the individual teams. The Kansas City Chiefs did provide a date range for the 2020 preseason games.

Here is a look at the Chiefs’ preseason schedule for the 2020 NFL season:

Week Opponent Date (TBD)
1 vs. Cincinnati Bengals Aug. 13-17
2 at Arizona Cardinals Aug. 20-24
3 at Dallas Cowboys Aug. 27-30
4 vs. Green Bay Packers Sept. 3-4

Observations

  • Joe Burrow and Clyde Edwards-Helaire will get their first NFL action in the same game. That’ll be a pretty cool moment for both players.
  • The Chiefs will face three NFC teams during the preseason. Including back-to-back No. 1 overall picks at quarterback in Burrow and Kyler Murray.
  • In what is traditionally the most important game (Week 3), where the starters get the most snaps, the Chiefs will face the Cowboys.
  • For the third consecutive season, the Chiefs will finish out the preseason against the Packers. At this point, it’s starting to feel like a tradition that these two teams finish out the preseason against each other.
