Schools with the most 2022 NFL draft picks

What schools produced the most 2022 NFL draft picks?

The Georgia Bulldogs dominated the 2022 NFL draft and had the most players selected from one school in NFL draft history. The Dawgs used their NFL talent to win the national championship last season.

The SEC was the NFL’s preferred conference once again. The SEC finished with 65 players drafted. The Big Ten was not too far behind with 48 players drafted. The Pac-12, ACC, and Big 12 had alarmingly poor drafts. Those three conferences combined for only 71 total draft picks.

Top college programs like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Michigan all had at least five players drafted. The 2022 draft was a down year for Clemson. The Tigers only had two players selected.

Oklahoma QB Caleeb Williams enters transfer portal

Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback Caleeb Williams is the latest Oklahoma player to enter the NCAA transfer portal

Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback Caleeb Williams is the latest Oklahoma player to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Williams, a former five-star recruit, is one of the most notable players to ever enter the transfer portal.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football were among the top teams to recruit Williams before he committed to Oklahoma. Williams is now considering departing the Sooners after Oklahoma lost head coach Lincoln Riley to USC. Oklahoma replaced Riley with former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound quarterback was heavily recruited coming out of Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC. Williams is still considering staying at Oklahoma, but he wants to talk to other college football coaches.

Williams announced that he’s entering the transfer portal via Twitter:

It sounds like Williams is not ready to make a decision. In a rare move, Oklahoma football released a statement after Williams entered the transfer portal:

The Sooners would love for Caleeb Williams to stay, but there will be fierce competition for the former five-star recruit. Williams joins quarterbacks like Connor Bazelak, Quinn Ewers, Spencer Rattler, Max Johnson, and more to enter the transfer portal this offseason.

Williams’ decision could have a ripple effect across college football. If Williams joins a team with significant talent, then he could turn them into a championship contender.

The South Carolina Gamecocks have added two major transfers in former Oklahoma star quarterback Spencer Rattler and tight end Austin Stogner.

Entering the 2021 college football season, Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler was considered the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Lincoln Riley went on to bench Rattler following some inconsistent performances. Rattler entered the transfer portal following Oklahoma’s defeat against Oklahoma State in the season-finale.

Let’s dive deeper into South Carolina’s two new transfers and how they will impact the SEC East:

UGA back in mix for elite RB Treyaun Webb

The Georgia Bulldogs are back in contention for four-star class of 2023 running back Treyaun Webb.

The Georgia Bulldogs are back in contention for four-star class of 2023 running back Treyaun Webb. Webb recently decommitted from the Oklahoma Sooners.

Webb and several other top Sooner recruits decommitted from Oklahoma following Lincoln Riley’s surprising decision to accept the head coaching at USC.

Webb was previously committed to Kirby Smart and UGA in November 2019. Webb backed off that decision.

Webb plays football at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.

The 6-foot, 188-pound athlete mostly plays running back and wide receiver. On film, Webb shows prowess as a pass blocker, bounces off attempted tackles and displays good hands. Webb is ranked No. 96 overall in his class and is one of the top prospects in Florida.

Georgia, Ohio State and Oklahoma made Webb’s top three schools back in June. USC is now likely in the mix for the four-star running back as well.

The Trinity Christian star announced his decommitment via Twitter:

Webb has reopened his recruitment and has plenty of time to make a decision. We will continue to provide updates on his recruiting process.

5-star WR Luther Burden picks Mizzou over UGA, Bama

Five-star wide receiver recruit Luther Burden has committed to the Missouri Tigers over the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Elite five-star wide receiver recruit Luther Burden has committed to the Missouri Tigers over the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Burden is staying home, which is a breath of fresh air considering some of the concerning recruiting trends recently, but is a big blow to the Georgia recruiting class.

Burden, who is a member of the class of 2022, . The class’s No. 6 overall player, Burden, decommitted from the Oklahoma Sooners several months ago.

Luther Burden is playing for East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, Illinois, which is located just across the state line.

Burden committed to Oklahoma nearly a year ago, but changed his mind this summer. Surprisingly the Sooners appear to be out of the picture for Burden.

Burden is the top-ranked recruit in Illinois and the second-ranked wide receiver recruit in the country.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football have 19 commitments in the class of 2022, and Georgia already has commitments from three wide receivers. UGA has the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the nation. Alabama has the top-ranked class in the country. Missouri now has the No. 14-ranked recruiting class in the country.

The five-star wide receiver’s commitment to Missouri is a huge win for Tigers’ head coach Eli Drinkwitz:

Missouri is 3-4 on the season and is 0-3 in SEC play. The Tigers have a long way to go, especially defensively if they want to be a legitimate SEC East contender. Adding Luther Burden certainly helps Missouri’s cause.

Missouri travels to face UGA on Nov. 6.

Joel Klatt of Fox Sports ranks college football’s top 10 teams including: Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma State, and more

Joel Klatt of Fox Sports has ranked the top 10 teams in college football following week seven. Klatt’s rankings seem pretty accurate to us.

Week seven action featured a few interesting results. Purdue and star wide receiver David Bell dominated No. 2 Iowa, who looked like a pretender without an effective offense.

Georgia won comfortably over a scrappy Kentucky team. Oklahoma’s offense impressed in a big win at home against TCU.

Here’s how Joel Klatt ranked the top 10 teams in the country:
