Burden is staying home, which is a breath of fresh air considering some of the concerning recruiting trends recently, but is a big blow to the Georgia recruiting class.

Burden, who is a member of the class of 2022, . The class’s No. 6 overall player, Burden, decommitted from the Oklahoma Sooners several months ago.

Luther Burden is playing for East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, Illinois, which is located just across the state line.

Burden committed to Oklahoma nearly a year ago, but changed his mind this summer. Surprisingly the Sooners appear to be out of the picture for Burden.

Burden is the top-ranked recruit in Illinois and the second-ranked wide receiver recruit in the country.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football have 19 commitments in the class of 2022, and Georgia already has commitments from three wide receivers. UGA has the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the nation. Alabama has the top-ranked class in the country. Missouri now has the No. 14-ranked recruiting class in the country.

The five-star wide receiver’s commitment to Missouri is a huge win for Tigers’ head coach Eli Drinkwitz:

Missouri is 3-4 on the season and is 0-3 in SEC play. The Tigers have a long way to go, especially defensively if they want to be a legitimate SEC East contender. Adding Luther Burden certainly helps Missouri’s cause.

Missouri travels to face UGA on Nov. 6.

Georgia football among 4-star DE Tyson Ford’s top four

The University of Georgia, Oklahoma, and more are among the top four schools for defensive end Tyson Ford.

The University of Georgia is among the top four schools for defensive end Tyson Ford. The Georgia Bulldogs football program and defensive coordinator Dan Lanning have offered a scholarship to Tyson Ford about a week ago. Ford plays defensive end for John Burroughs School, which is located just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.

Georgia joins several elite college football programs vying for Ford, who is rated as a four-star recruit. The John Burroughs School standout has received scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and about a dozen other college football programs.

Ford, who is a member of the class of 2022, has already accepted an invitation to the 2022 Under Armour All-American Game. He’s 6 feet, 5 inches and weighs 245 pounds.

On film, Ford is adept at working his way into the opposing backfield. He also plays tight end, where he excels as a powerful run blocker. He has decent athleticism and should only improve as he continues to add to his frame.

Ford is projected to commit to Oklahoma, but don’t count out the other three school as they all have reasons Ford would thrive at their respective programs.

Rakeshaw was excited to receive his offer from Kirby Smart and UGA:

Rakeshaw is drawing recent interest from around the country including: Baylor, Kansas, Missouri, Miami, and Michigan State. Rakeshaw will have several weeks to make his decision.

Rakeshaw faced tough competition playing high school football. Now, he may be headed to the SEC.
