Oregon makes the top eight for uber prospect Emoni Bates

The Oregon Ducks are in the top-8 finalists for 2022 five-star Emoni Bates, widely considered one of the best basketball prospects in ages.

Emoni Bates, the top prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and high school phenom, announced his top-8 post high school destinations on Friday evening and the Oregon Ducks cracked the list.

The Ducks were one of five schools Bates named, along with Memphis, Baylor, Miami and Michigan State – where he originally committed in a rather shocking move in the summer of 2020, before decommitting earlier this year.

Bates hasn’t ruled out a return to the Spartans or other colleges, including Oregon, but most believe his next step will be a one-year stop at a professional level, with the G-League, the newly formed Overtime Elite League, and the National Basketball League all in his top-8.

The NBL in Australia and New Zealand previously hosted top hoops prospects LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton, while Overtime Elite would love to add Bates to help get their league off the ground.

The six-foot-nine Bates is already among the most talked about NBA prospects in a long time, and where he ends up next season will be a huge talking point and a tremendous boost for that program for many years to come.

While I wouldn’t hold my breath as an Oregon fan, the fact that Dana Altman and company are among his top five college options is a great sign for future recruiting in Eugene.

4-star CB Benjamin Morrison commits to Notre Dame over Oregon

The Ducks missed out on Benjamin Morrison, a 4-star cornerback who announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Thursday afternoon.

There were dreams of adding another 4-star prospect to the 2022 recruiting class in Oregon, but that seems to have been too good to be true. For the time being, at least.

4-star cornerback Benjamin Morrison, who played at Brophy College Prep. in Phoenix, chose to commit to Notre Dame on Thursday afternoon, which did not come as a huge surprise, seeing that 247 Sports’ ‘Crystal Ball’ prediction tool was spitting out 100% confidence that Morrison would go to the Irish.

Morrison was also considering Oregon, Washington, Florida State, and Michigan State.

The Ducks’ 2022 recruiting class has been on a roll recently, quickly making its way up the national rankings. After the additions of 5-star OT Kelvin Banks last week, plus 4-star WR Isaiah Sategna, and 4-star OT Cameron Williams, the Ducks have jumped up inside of the top-10. Adding another prospect like Morrison would have propelled them even further, but it wasn’t in the cards.

4-star CB Daylen Everette sets commitment date

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools in the hunt to secure a commitment from four-star defensive back Daylen Everette.

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools in the hunt to secure a commitment from four-star defensive back Daylen Everette.

The University of Georgia offered Everette a scholarship early in his recruiting process: December 2019. Everette is a member of the class of 2022 and is a rising senior at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Before transferring to IMG Academy, Everette played football at Norview High School in Norfolk, Virginia.

Now, Everette will decide among Georgia, UNC, Oregon, Clemson and FSU. The IMG Academy star plans to make his decision on July 17 as he announced via Twitter.

Everette has a background running track and is ranked as one of the top four-star prospects in the country. He is the No. 40 prospect in his class and the No. 7 cornerback recruit.

The four-star defensive back has visited Georgia, UNC, FSU and Clemson in recent weeks.  Everette had been unable to visit schools for over a year due to the NCAA’s recruiting dead period.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior has an elite list of offers, including from Alabama, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and Miami.

Here’s a look at Everette’s recent visit to Athens:

4-star linebacker TJ Dudley commits to Oregon over Alabama, Central Florida

Linebacker TJ Dudley, a four-star recruit from Alabama, announced his decision to choose the Ducks over the Crimson Tide and UCF Monday.

Top high school linebackers are seemingly lining up to put on the Oregon Ducks football uniform.

In the wake of Noah Sewell and Justin Flowe, former top linebacker recruits, 6-foot-1, 220-pound TJ Dudley is helping to turn Oregon into Linebacker U with the decision to verbally commit to the Ducks on Monday. The Montgomery, Ala. native chose Oregon over Central Florida and Alabama.

While is hard to imagine Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban letting top recruits in his own state get away, slowly but surely, other schools like Oregon are making headway into that state. The Ducks did recently sign four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey right out of Saban’s backyard, as well.

Dudley made a trip out to Eugene earlier this month and he announced his decision on CBS Sports HQ. Dudley is Oregon’s fifth four-star commit in the class.

The 2022 Class is beginning to shape out just like the Ducks’ previous classes since Mario Cristobal took the reigns of the program. Oregon is going for its fourth straight year of leading the Pac-12 in recruiting with no looking back.

WATCH: Oregon commit Stephon Johnson makes incredible one-handed catch in practice

3-star wide receiver commit Stephon Johnson showed a bit of what he can bring to Oregon, pulling down this impressive one-handed catch in practice.

The talent at the wide receiver position that is starting to come through Oregon should have fans feeling giddy.

Not only do the Ducks have two young four-star guys on the roster in Dont’e Thornton and Troy Franklin, but the next recruiting class is already starting to blossom, as well. Look no further than the impressive one-handed grab brought down by Oregon commit Stephon Johnson, a 3-star prospect out of DeSoto, Texas.

Johnson is part of a 2022 recruiting class that is already ranked No. 1 in the Pac-12, and has a chance to get a lot better as more commits start to flow in the door. The Ducks already have verbal agreements from 4-star safeties Trejon Williams and Landon Hullaby, as well as 4-star QB Tanner Bailey, and 4-star DL Gracen Halton.

On top of those commits, Oregon is seemingly in the driver’s seat when it comes to some of the other massive names in this recruiting class, including 4-star DL Cyrus Moss, and 5-star tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. If Mario Cristobal can continue to work his magic, then Oregon will be fielding a team of elite talent that stacks up with the best in the nation in no time.

Georgia football in top 5 for 5-star CB Daylen Everette

The Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers are among the top five schools for 5-star IMG Academy DB Daylen Everette.

Georgia football in top five for 4-star Tyler Booker

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for four-star IMG Academy offensive tackle recruit Tyler Booker

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for four-star offensive tackle recruit Tyler Booker, who is a member of the class of 2022.

Booker plays high school football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Booker is from New Haven, Connecticut, but he’s considering attending three SEC schools and Oregon, so he’s no afraid to venture far from home.

IMG Academy is loaded with talented recruits, so Booker is competing against elite high school players, and Booker has access to incredible athletic facilities. He’ll be well prepared for the next level.

Tyler Booker is six-foot-four and weighs 315 pounds. He’s close to being a five-star prospect as he’s the No. 5 ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2022 and the No. 41 ranked prospect overall.

Tyler Booker announced his top five schools via his Twitter account:

Booker puts Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, and Florida in his top five schools. When will Tyler Booker make his commitment? We’ll update you if he announces a commitment date.

The IMG Academy star took LSU, Miami, Jackson State, Penn State, and Texas A&M out of his top schools.

The four-star offensive tackle is coming closer to making a decision. He announced his top five schools on his birthday. He may wait until after visits are permitted in June.

The University of Georgia has the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the country at the moment. Kirby Smart has 12 commitments in the class of 2022, but none along the offensive line.

UGA offensive line coach Matt Luke is known as a good recruiter and will look for the Dawgs to add a few talented linemen with the class of 2022.

Notre Dame Quick to Offer Elite 2023 California Athlete

A quick viewing of his highlight tape shows a youngster with tremendous speed for any age, let alone his and very good athleticism.

Notre Dame got an early start on 2023 recruiting over the weekend as they became the second team to offer a scholarship to wide receiver/defensive back Raymond Valencia.

Valencia hails from J. Serra Catholic in California and is listed at 6-0, 170 pounds. A quick viewing of his highlight tape shows a youngster with tremendous speed for any age, let alone his and very good athleticism.

If Valencia’s first two scholarship offers are any indication it would mean most powerhouse programs won’t be far behind because Notre Dame joined Oregon as the only two schools to offer so far.

The second half of my freshman year of high school I think I spent the majority of time thinking about how I was going to ask a girl out (and I’d never step up) or how I’d be getting home from school or practice. I can’t imagine not yet being able to drive but getting offered scholarships to the likes of Notre Dame and Oregon.

Justin Flowe joins Noah Sewell as five-star Oregon inside linebacker commits

Oregon has the commitment of the top two inside linebackers in the 2020 class: Justin Flowe and Noah Sewell.

Oregon already had a strong piece at inside linebacker with the November commitment of Noah Sewell.

With the addition of Justin Flowe on Early Signing Day, the Ducks now have the two top-rated inside linebackers in the country.

They’re just piling onto last year’s class that was highlighted by 2018 ALL-USA Defensive Player of the Year and 2019 Pac-12 Football Freshman Defensive Player of the Year Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Flowe played a role on all three phases of the game this season. He had 123 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 10 sacks with five forced fumbles. On special teams, he had a blocked punt and a blocked field goal. On offense, he carried the ball 23 times for 238 yards and five touchdowns.

[lawrence-related id=101416897,101416868]

Ranked No. 4 in the Chosen 25, Flowe is now the second-highest-ranked Oregon commit of all time, behind only Thibodeaux, according to OregonLive.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound athlete chose Clemson over finalists Clemson, Miami and USC.

Sewell, who missed time early in the season, finished the year with 103 tackles, 12 TFLs and 4 sacks in just 10 games. On offense, he had 968 total yards and 16 touchdowns.

He is the No. 9 all-time Oregon commit, according to OregonLive.

Oregon won the Pac-12 championship, earning a trip to the Rose Bowl, and are No. 6 in the rankings. With Flowe and Sewell coming aboard to beef up the defense, the Ducks are gearing up for a run at the College Football Playoffs in the near future.

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for Dontae Manning. Manning is a 2020 four-star cornerback from Kansas City, Missouri. He plays for Raytown High School.

Today, Manning announced his top five schools (Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona State, and Texas A&M) via Twitter:

Georgia offered Manning this July. The four-star corner is expected to take an official visit to Athens the 13th of December. The early-signing period ends the 18th of December, so it’d be one of Manning’s last visits before that date.

With the class of 2020 signing day approaching soon, the Bulldogs are still in the hunt for several prospects. Georgia currently has sixteen commitments and is looking to add more talented recruits to the class of 2020.

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs are also in the mix for five-star corner Kelee Ringo. Ringo is projected to pick UGA.
