Falcons open as 4.5-point favorites over the Buccaneers in Week 12

The Falcons have looked like a completely different team since coming out of their Week 9 bye. After winning two straight games in dominant fashion, head coach Dan Quinn seems to have figured things out for the time being.

The Falcons have looked like a completely different team since coming out of their Week 9 bye. After winning two straight games in dominant fashion, head coach Dan Quinn seems to have figured things out for the time being.

In Week 12, Atlanta plays its third straight game against an NFC South opponent when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

The Bucs are 3-7, but appear to be trending in the opposite direction during the team’s first year under head coach Bruce Arians. Quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown for an impressive 3,078 yards and 19 touchdown passes, but has also thrown 18 interceptions and has 22 total turnovers in 2019.

The folks over at Bet MGM currently have the Falcons as 4.5-point favorites over Tampa Bay in Week 12, with the over/under for the game set at 51.5.

Atlanta hasn’t been favored to win a game in awhile, but after allowing just 12 points combined over the past two weeks — with four interceptions and 11 sacks — the oddsmakers have finally come around.

We will see if the Falcons can come away with a third straight victory over an NFC South opponent on Sunday.

NFL odds: Broncos are 3.5-point underdogs against Bills

The Broncos are considered underdogs on the road against the Bills this week.

The Denver Broncos (3-7) are considered 3.5-point underdogs on the road against the Buffalo Bills (7-3) in Week 12, according to BetMGM. The over/under line for combined points scored between the two teams has been set at 37.5.

Last week, the Broncos scored 23 points in a 27-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings (8-3). The Bills scored 37 points in a 37-20 win over the Miami Dolphins (2-8).

Denver is scoring an average of 17.2 points per game this season and Buffalo is averaging 21.1 points per game. Combined, that’s an average of 38.3 points per contest, which would be slightly over this week’s over/under line.

The Broncos and Bills have faced each other 37 times dating back to 1960 and Buffalo leads the all-time series 20-16-1, including a 13-11 record at home. These two teams last met in 2017, a game the Bills won 26-16.

Browns open as rare double-digit favorites vs. Dolphins in Week 12

It’s just the 3rd time since 1999 the Browns are favored by 10 or more

Winners of two in a row, the Cleveland Browns are riding high. And with the lowly Miami Dolphins coming to town in Week 12, the professional bookmakers believe the Browns will keep the win streak rolling.

The Browns opened as 10.5-point favorites over the Dolphins at BetMGM. That’s the largest point spread currently on the board for Week 12. Cleveland is 4-6 but has won two games in a row. Miami is 2-8 after getting blown out by the New York Jets in Week 11.

This game marks just the third time the Browns have been favored by 10 or more points in the 21st century.

In Week 16 last season, the Browns were 10-point favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland won 26-18 but failed to cover the spread. The only other instance was in 2007, when Romeo Crennel’s Browns beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-7 in Week 17 as 11.5-point favorites at home.

Saints favored by 8.5 points over Panthers for Week 12 opening lines

The opening betting line heavily favored the New Orleans Saints over the Carolina Panthers for their Week 12 NFC South rivalry game.

[jwplayer cfZzcYxP]

The New Orleans Saints rebounded in a big way this week, but the Carolina Panthers look like they’ve regressed hard. This always-tough NFC South rivalry series is set to pick up again in Week 12, and the Saints are clearly favored to win.

Per the opening line from BetMGM, the Saints are 8.5-point home favorites over the Panthers. With an over/under set at 47.5, that implies a final score in the neighborhood of Saints 28, Panthers 19. Not too shabby.

With Cam Newton sidelined for the rest of the year, Carolina has had to rely on Kyle Allen, which has produced mixed results. Allen’s initial success trailed off over the last month, and the Panthers’ record has fallen with it. Allen threw seven touchdown passes against zero interceptions in his first four starts, giving Carolina a four-game unbeaten stretch.

Since then, Allen has completed just three touchdown passes against nine interceptions. And the Panthers have lost three of their last four games to put their season on life support at 5-5, with a difficult road trip against the Saints next on their schedule.

If the Saints defense can be as proactive and disruptive against Carolina as they were versus Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — a game in which they stole four interceptions and sacked Winston twice, hitting him a dozen other times — then they can take advantage of Allen, who’s been prone to making mistakes with the game on his shoulders.

Still, both of these teams received their most recent losses to the bottom-feeding Atlanta Falcons. Both squads know they can’t take anything for granted in the NFL, meaning an intense week of practice and preparation is ahead of them.

How to Watch Bears vs. Rams, NFL Week 11 Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Bears vs. Rams Live Online.

The Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams first played each other in 1937 with the Bears winning both games that year. Fast forward 82 years later and the Bears are still in Chicago, but the Rams have since moved to Los Angeles. Chicago leads the all-time series 54-36-3, including a 15-6 home win in 2018. It was a sloppy game that saw Rams quarterback Jared Goff and Mitch Trubisky of the Bears threw a combined seven interceptions.

Have the tides turned in Chicago? The Bears snapped a four-game losing streak with a 20-13 victory over the Lions at home last weekend. The team punted on their first four possessions, but the offense picked it up after that. Mitch Trubisky threw for 173 yards and tied a season-high with three touchdowns. Allen Robinson led the team with six catches for 83 yards. However, the offense is ranked near the bottom of every major statistic. The Lions posted 357 yards compared to the Bears 226 in the game. Chicago will need to do a much better job in converting on third down. The team was just two of 12 last weekend.

The Bears’ defense recorded two sacks on Matt Stafford’s backup quarterback Jeff Driskel and is, holding opponents to an average of 17.4 points per game, fourth-best in the NFL. Roquan Smith led the team with 11 tackles while Nick Kwiatoski added nine more and recorded his first career interception.

Los Angeles’ offensive woes continued in a 17-12 loss on the road against the Steelers last weekend. Jared Goff completed 22 of 41 passes for 243 yards and two interceptions. Goff has nine interceptions already this season, just shy of his season-high 12 from last year. One positive was the performance of running back Todd Gurley, who has struggled for most of 2019. Gurley rushed for 73 yards, his second-highest total of the year, behind only his 97-yard performance in Week 1. Robert Woods led the team with seven catches for 95 yards. However,  the Steelers defense took advantage of four turnovers throughout the game. The Rams are sixth in the league in passing yards with an average of 279.6 per game. That is their bread and butter, but a productive Gurley could make this squad less one dimensional.

The Steelers offense didn’t beat the Rams, it was mistaken by Los Angeles that led them to victory. Pittsburgh totaled just 273 yards of offense and converted a mere five of 16 third-down attempts. L.A.’s defensive front stuffed the run to the tune of just 42 yards and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald showed his dominance with six tackles and one sack against the Steelers.

How to Watch Bengals vs. Raiders, NFL Week 11 Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

When the Oakland Raiders host the winless Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, they’ll have a great frame of reference for the struggles their opponents are enduring. During quarterback Derek Carr’s rookie season with Oakland, they started off 0-10, before picking up the first win of his career. He knows all too well that no team is satisfied with losing and no game will be easy to win despite what the records say.

The Raiders made a point this week when talking to the media about the Bengals that records don’t matter to them. David Carr was especially adamant about it, saying he knows the Bengals are going to “bring it”.

Carr added his 14th passing touchdown of the season in the Raiders’ 26-24 win over the Chargers in Week 10. The victory was Oakland’s second straight and got the team over the .500 mark. At 5-4, they’re on the heels of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. Another win would put some big pressure on their divisional rivals.

Meanwhile, the bottom is lonely for Cincinnati, as the Bengals are the lone winless team remaining in the NFL. A change at quarterback was made for their Week 10 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Rookie Ryan Finley came in for veteran Andy Dalton for his first career start. It was an up and down debut as he threw for a touchdown, but also had a few turnovers in a 49-13 loss. It appears that it’s Finley’s ship to steer from here on out as the Bengals look for answers in the short and long-term.

A win over Arizona State last weekend made USC (6-4) bowl eligible. The team will look to continue its winning ways on Saturday night at Cal. The Golden Bears (5-4) are still in the hunt to become bowl eligible and will do so with a win. Cal defeated USC at the Coliseum last season, 15-14, snapping a 13-year losing streak to the Trojans.

Clay Helton’s job security continues to be a hot topic in Southern California and throughout the country with a new athletic director at USC. The team helped Helton’s cause last weekend when USC survived a late comeback attempt by Arizona State to escape with a 31-26 victory. The first quarter saw a dominant performance by the USC passing attack, which scored 28 points. Quarterback Kedon Slovis was 15-for-17 for 297 yards and four touchdowns in one-quarter of play. However, the team scored just three points in the next three quarters. On defense, the Trojans got an added boost with the return of safety Talanoa Hufanga and defensive end Drake Jackson. They were apart of a defense that held ASU running back Eno Benjamin to 50 yards on 20 carries.

The Golden Bears are coming off a 33-20 victory over Washington State. The win snapped a four-game losing streak. That streak was especially surprising considering they started the season 4-0 and ranked in the Top 25. After suffering a shoulder injury that knocked him out for the middle portion of this season, Golden Bears quarterback Chase Garbers has been cleared to play. Backup quarterback Devon Modster went 16-for-24 for 230 yards and three touchdowns vs. Washington State. Running back Christopher Brown also had 95 yards rushing on 19 carries.

How to Watch Navy vs. Notre Dame, NCAA Football Live Stream, Schedule, TV Channel, Start Time

Watch Navy vs. Notre Dame Live Online.

One of the longest rivalries in college football history renews on Saturday as No. 16 Notre Dame hosts No. 23 Navy in the 91st straight meeting. The two teams have played each other every year since 1927, making it the third-longest non-interrupted rivalry in the sport. The Fighting Irish hold a commanding 76–13–1 lead in the series, with Navy winning only four times since 1963.

Navy comes to South Bend on an impressive five-game winning streak and very much in contention for the AAC title. A bye week should have the Midshipmen well-rested. Before their week off, they beat Connecticut, 56-10, to improve to 7-1 on the season. Their great run of form has them deadlocked with SMU atop the West division. As usual, Navy’s offense is focused primarily on the running attack. The team averages an astounding 358.3 yards per game on the ground, which is the best in the country by over 30 yards. Quarterback Malcolm Perry is the team’s go-to weapon under center. He is the team leader in both rushing yards (1,042) and passing yards (722). It’s very likely that Navy’s chances of pulling off the upset will come down to his effectiveness against Notre Dame’s defense.

The Irish rush defense isn’t anything to write home about. They are 64th in the nation at stopping the run, allowing 157.6 yards per game on the ground. It’s clear that this match-up will define how this one will play out. If Notre Dame finds a way to limit Perry, it should have the offense to pull out the win. If it turns into a shootout, the team could be in trouble. Notre Dame crushed Duke 38-7 in its last outing. QB Ian Book threw for four touchdowns and two interceptions. Book’s track record in big games this season has been spotty. He’s certainly capable of putting points on the board, but if the circumstances call for him to carry the team to victory, it could be a problem.

NFL odds: Broncos are 10.5-point underdogs vs. Vikings in Week 11

The Broncos are considered double-digit underdogs on the road against the Vikings this week.

The Denver Broncos (3-6) are considered 10.5-point underdogs on the road against the Minnesota Vikings (7-3) in Week 11, according to BetMGM. The over/under line for combined points scored between the two teams has been set at 39.5.

Before their bye last week, Denver scored 24 points in a 24-19 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 9. Minnesota scored 28 points in a 28-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening. That’s 52 combined points in their last games, which would be over this week’s over/under line.

The Broncos and Vikings have met 14 times in the past and the series is tied 7-7. Denver has won all of the last three meetings, including a 35-32 win in Minnesota in 2011. The Broncos are 50-45 coming off their bye over the last 10 years and will look to improve that record in Week 11.
