Jordan Poyer is one of the top safeties in the NFL, and he’s earned the respect of his peers with his elite play during his career.

NFL Network kicked off its Top 100 Players of 2023 list, and the 2021 All-Pro continued to perform at the top level, earning a spot on the Pro Bowl roster last season and land him at No. 57 in the latest release.

Poyer ranked No. 45 when he first appeared on the list after his All-Pro selection. Despite multiple injuries limiting his availability, the Pro Bowl defender logged 63 total tackles, 8 passes-defended, four interceptions, and one forced fumble last season. He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in October 2022, when he secured a pair of interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens, the latter sealing the game for the Bills.

This year, he joins linebacker Matt Milano who recently debuted on the list at No. 69. For the 13th consecutive year, current NFL players have voted to determine the Top 100 players in the NFL.

NFL Films produces the series and provides an inside look at the stars around the league entering the 2023 season.

Despite rough year, Michael Thomas makes NFL Network’s Top 100 again

Despite rough year, Michael Thomas makes NFL Network’s Top 100 again

Few players have had as challenging a year as Michael Thomas, so it’s refreshing to see the New Orleans Saints wide receiver is still well-regarded around the league. Thomas was ranked at No. 72 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2021, as voted on by the players themselves.

A frustrating ankle injury saw his production drop to career-lows in receptions (40) and receiving yards (438), and he failed to score a touchdown for the first time as a pro after hitting pay dirt 32 times in his first four years. Still, his opponents, rivals, and peers across the league saw the effort he put in and rewarded him for it.

Thomas ranked fifth-best among them last time. This big of a drop makes sense considering the plummet in performance, but a return to health should see him reassert himself in 2021.

Could this Buccaneer land in the NFL 100’s top 10 next year?

Find out which Buccaneer Peter Schrager of “Good Morning Football” believes will make the jump into the NFL 100’s top 10 next year.

There’s a lot of excitement around the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers thanks to the signing of quarterback Tom Brady and the acquisition of tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Adding two future Hall of Famers to an already stacked offense will make every Bucs game a “must-watch” this season, but the defense could also provide some highlight-worthy moments, too.

One player who seems poised to take a major step forward in 2020, besides from Jame Dean, is linebacker Devin White. The 2019 fifth overall pick stumbled out of the gate last season, but finished strong down the stretch, winning Defensive Rookie of the Month the last two months of the season.

Peter Schrager over at “Good Morning Football” loved what he saw from White last season, and made the bold prediction that the second-year linebacker would find himself in the top 10 of the NFL 100 list next year.

Here’s what Schrager had to say:

And, for what it’s worth, it seems the Buccaneers agree with Schrager’s assessment.

NFL top 100 list: Bucs LB Lavonte David comes in at No. 100

The NFL Network kicked off its top 100 players list, with Bucs linebacker Lavonte David coming in at No. 100.

The NFL Network’s top 100 list is a sign that the regular season is just around the corner.

As teams prepare to kick off training camp this week, the countdown to the No. 1 player has already begun, with some like Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen already voicing their displeasure about their ranking.

Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, who has a 90 rating in Madden NFL 21, found himself at No. 100 on the list this year.

Per NFL.com:

“David ends a four-year absence in the Top 100 after leading the Bucs in tackles in 2019, which has been the case in seven of his eight seasons. David, who just eclipsed 1,000 career tackles, was ranked as high as No. 35 in 2014 after his only All-Pro season.”

David and fellow linebacker Devin White could easily be the best linebacker duo in the game today. White came on strong in the second half of last season, and playing alongside a guy like David should only help his maturation and development in Year 2 of his NFL career.

Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf cracks NFL Network’s Top 100 at No. 81

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf cracks NFL Network’s Top 100 at No. 81, marking the second Seahawk to make the 2020 list so far.

It didn’t take Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf long to crack the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players” list, coming in at No. 81 to start his second season.

Metcalf is the second Seahawk to be named to the “Top 100 Players of 2020” list so far, with running back Chris Carson making his debut at No. 96.

In 16 regular-season games played his rookie year, Metcalf logged 58 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns, firmly cementing himself in the No. 2 spot behind veteran Tyler Lockett. Expectations are even higher for Metcalf entering his sophomore season.
