Eagles’ center Jason Kelce lands at No. 71 on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list

Philadelphia Eagles legendary center Jason Kelce lands at No. 71 on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list for 2022.

Jason Kelce is a future Hall of Famer, so it should be expected that Philadelphia’s legendary center has the respect of his peers.

Following Darius Slay, who landed at No. 77 on the list, the Eagles’ star center made the list again, coming in at No. 71.

The 34-year-old Kelce has started 122 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL among centers.

That mark could be in jeopardy after he elected to have elbow surgery on Tuesday morning.

Kelce has been named first-team All-Pro four times over his 10-year career, and his five Pro Bowl nods are second all-time among Eagles offensive linemen, behind only tackle Jason Peters (7).

Playing more zone coverage under first-year defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, Slay logged three touchdowns and three interceptions.

5 Eagles who have a shot at making the NFL’s ‘Top 100 Players of 2021’ list

Looking at 5 Eagles who have a shot at making the NFL’s ‘Top 100 Players of 2021’ list

The NFL Network will trot out their annual Top-100 players for 20201 lists, starting Sunday, August 15, at 4:00 PM EST.

Last season five Eagles landed on the list, with several others deserving of the honor as well.

With the players around the NFL voting amongst their peers, we list Eagles who potentially can land on the Top-100 list for 2021:

Kyler Murray, Josh Allen appear to have made the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list over Carson Wentz

Carson Wentz left off the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players List

In a move that can only be described as head-scratching to say the least, Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz will not be a member of the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list, while Arizona Cardinals star Kyler Murray and Buffalo Bills star josh Allen both made the list for their respective teams.

It had been previously reported by Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports, via the Reddit NFL page, that the Eagles would only have five players make the list, one more than last season. With Darius Slay coming over from the Lions, that eliminated a spot after Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, and Zach Ertz all landed on the team.

Last year’s list included four Eagles:

28. Fletcher Cox
40. Zach Ertz
72. Jason Kelce
96. Carson Wentz

Last season while starting all 16 regular-season games and leading his team to the playoffs, Wentz and the Eagles defeated the Bills in Buffalo, 31-13. Wentz was 17 of 24 for 172 yards and one passing touchdown.

Allen for his part was 16 of 34 for 169 yards and two passing scores and his 9 rushing touchdowns last season led all NFL quarterbacks.

Murray is coming off a season in which he was the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year after leading the Cardinals with 3,722 passing yards and 20 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

Wentz is coming off a season in which he became the first Eagles quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season while throwing over 25 touchdowns and less than 8 interceptions.
