Peyton Manning believes that Bryce Young’s NFL comparison is Joe Burrow

Peyton Manning shares high praise for the former Crimson Tide Heisman trophy winner

Peyton Manning is one of the smartest people to ever play the quarterback position at the college or NFL level. So it goes without saying that when the five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl Champion says something, it is worth listening to.

Peyton and his brother, Eli, also a two-time Super Bowl champion, have a show on ESPN+ where they discuss draft prospects and draw on their experience to dissect what the public should expect from these prospects. Both Manning brothers, who will eventually be in the NFL Hall of Fame, seem to be very impressed with the work of former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young.

Through conversations with their scouts and watching the film the Manning brothers believe that Young’s NFL comparison is Joe Burrow. Manning defends his claim by saying, “Burrow is kind of the guy that comes to mind because of his sixth sense in the pocket, the decision making, processing information quickly… The instincts that Bryce has, the ability to beat the coverage, keeps a lot of plays alive I love that.”

Peyton Manning is a top-three quarterback in NFL history comparing Bryce Young to a top-three quarterback in the NFL currently, pretty good hands to be in if you ask me.

NFL draft: Roger McCreary’s comparison and best team fits

A look at where Roger McCreary fits best at the NFL level.

The top NFL draft prospect for the Auburn Tigers this year is cornerback Roger McCreary.

He was one of the most consistent cornerbacks during his time on The Plains. This past season he finished with two interceptions and 14 passes defended. During McCreary’s career at Auburn, he accounted for 135 tackles, 10 TFLs, six interceptions, 30 passes defended, and one pick-six.

Pro Football Focus graded McCreary with an 89.7 coverage grade. His overall defense grade was 89.9, both were career-best marks for McCreary. Teams converted just 45.3% of pass attempts against him in coverage with just one touchdown allowed. He continually got better during his time at Auburn. It should come as no surprise that the addition of Zac Etheridge as the second coach seems to have jump-started his ascension.

As McCreary prepares for the NFL Combine that begins in a few days, we look at his NFL comparison and best team fits.

NFL comparisons for the four drafted Badgers

NFL draft season is full of aimless comparisons with every quarterback coming out of college being projected as the next Tom Brady…

NFL draft season is full of aimless comparisons with every quarterback coming out of college being projected as the next Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers and every edge rusher as the next Jadeveon Clowney or Von Miller.

These comps are what makes draft season so special, as no matter what NFL team you root for every high draft pick your team makes is immediately compared to the best in the league at the position.

Here at BadgersWire our comps are a bit more on the realistic side, and should give a good idea as to what to expect from the four drafted Badgers, Jonathan Taylor, Zack Baun, Tyler Biadasz and Quintez Cephus as they begin their NFL careers.

NFL comparison: Nick Chubb

Well, yes, we are comparing Taylor to the Cleveland Browns’ Pro-Bowl running back Nick Chubb.

The comp makes sense, though, as Chubb is an impressive blend of power, vision and speed whose running style reminds me so much of Taylor’s, especially in terms of their breakaway speed and ability to always fall forward and move the chains.

Furthermore, Chubb has developed into a formidable receiver out of the backfield with 56 receptions and 427 yards during his first two NFL seasons.

This is how Taylor’s receiving game will project to the next level, as he isn’t at the level of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and other guys who can call receiving as one of their biggest strengths, but he still has the ability to produce when called upon in that area.

Taylor’s ceiling will obviously have a lot to do with how the Colts choose to use him, whether they decide to limit his touches due to his college workload and, overall, whether the former Badger continues to stay healthy.

The most likely scenario, though, is Nick Chubb-like production behind an elite offensive line in Indianapolis.

UGA football NFL player comparisons ahead of 2020 Draft

We examine UGA NFL comparisons for D’Andre Swift, JR Reed, Jake Fromm, Isaiah Wilson, Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, and Lawrence Cager.

The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to have anywhere from six to ten players selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. But what NFL players are elite UGA prospects being compared to?

Georgia Bulldog quarterback Jake Fromm is anticipated to be one of the top quarterbacks selected. Where he falls among the best prospects is up for debate.

Jake Fromm’s player comparison is current Washington Redskin’s quarterback Colt McCoy. McCoy doesn’t have elite physical talent, but is a solid player who has been in the NFL for ten seasons. PFF compares Fromm to another similar NFL player.

McCoy has been a back-up for much of his career, which is an indication of what NFL.com thinks of Jake Fromm. Fromm, like McCoy, had a distinguished career at a major college.

McCoy, who was a star for the Texas Longhorns, has thrown for 29 touchdowns and 27 interceptions across 28 career NFL starts. He has over 6,000 career passing yards. McCoy was a third round pick in 2010.
