Kansas City Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy has handled his jump to the NFL smoothly through five games. He continues to show love to his biggest fan, his mother, Nicky Jones.

Jones recently appeared on ‘The Mama Bear Podcast,‘ reflecting on the memorable moment that has gone viral since last Monday night’s game.

“When I was there, obviously, like, I’m in the moment of it, but when I watched it back, on TV, it just made me so happy,” said Jones, “because he just it reminded me of when he was in Pop Warner, like, excited after a touchdown, and he hopped up, and the way he just ‘hold on,’ he, ran over there, and his smile was just so big and sweet. Oh, like, Oh, it’s my baby. Like, it was just so, so sweet.”

Jones was celebrating her birthday that night, and her son gave her the perfect gift on Monday Night Football.

“But it was this full circle moment, kind of because l was turning 40, which is kind of a milestone, and then, when he got drafted, he had turned 21 at the stadium as well,” said Jones. “So it was like, Wow, this little baby boy I had when I was 18, I’m here right now. In my wildest dreams, we pictured this, but I’m here, like, I’m living it. I wanted to soak it up, sit in, and feel it. And I did, and it was amazing. I’ll never forget it.”

Worthy and the Chiefs return from their bye week this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, hoping to create more memorable moments.

2020 has been full of surprises on and off the field for Texas athletics and there were some special moments. Wrapping up basketball and moving into spring sports before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the season, most of the Longhorns’ major sports seemed to be heading in the right direction.

From the men and women’s basketball teams looking NCAA Tournament bound, to Tom Herman and the football team making moves, to the top-ranked softball team picking up big times wins, Texas was excelling in all sports.

Sadly, the NCAA has canceled all sporting activities for the rest of the school year, but that does not take away from the great moments so far this year. Here are the top 10 moments of 2020 for the Longhorns:

Best Moments of Cedric Benson’s Career

Today would have been the birthday of Cedric Benson. To celebrate him, we are going to look at his best moments as a player at Texas.

Today would have been the 37th birthday of the late Cedric Benson. One of the greatest Longhorns to ever put on the uniform, Benson passed away earlier this season in a motorcycle accident.

To celebrate him, we are going to look at some of his best moments as a player at Texas. Not only is he considered a Longhorn great, but he is one of the best to ever do it in the history of the Big 12 conference.

A four-year starter, he was the main running back for the Longhorns the second he stepped on campus. Never rushing for less than 1,000 yards in a season, he reached as high as 21 touchdowns in 2003. His best season came in 2004 though, as he won the Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s top running back.

Top Five Football Moments Of The Decade

While it may have been a rough decade for the Longhorns, there still was some good moments. Here are the top five moments of the decade.

While it may have been a rough decade for the Longhorns as far as the win column goes, there still was some good moments for Texas. Picking up wins against Oklahoma, top 10 opponents, in some bowl games, and ending a rivalry on a high note, even during the lowest time of the program’s history, they have produced some magic.

Having three coaches since 2010, Mack Brown, Charlie Strong, and Tom Herman have each been in charge for at least three years. Brown was fired after the 2013 season, marking the end of a 15 year period for Texas. Strong got three years from 2014-2016, but all three seasons ended in seven losses. Tom Herman has returned Texas to a bowl game in all three years in charge, but still has some work to do.

Texas has had a mix of success and failure throughout the 2010s, but the moments have no doubt made fans believe they can return to the level they should be at. Here are the top five moments of the decade for the Longhorns:
