Texas Athletics: Top 10 Moments of 2020

Sports being canceled does not take away from the great moments already in 2020. Here are the top 10 moments of 2020 for the Longhorns:

No. 6 – Texas basketball defeats No. 1 Stanford

Hosting the No. 1 team in the country during their non-conference schedule, Texas took advantage of home court to beat Stanford, 69-64 on Dec. 22. The Longhorns handed the Cardinal their first loss of the season, dethroning them from the top spot in the country.

As she did for most of the season, Charli Collier led the way for Texas, scoring 20 points on 7-16 shooting. She added an outstanding game-high 19 rebounds, with six coming on the offensive glass.

Three other Longhorns were in double figures, with Joyner Holmes having 13 points, Sug Sutton having 12 points, and Celeste Taylor having 10 points. Texas shot nearly 40% from the field, going 27-70.

Improving to 7-4 on the year, it was the second ranked win of the season for the Longhorns. They were able to add one more against No. 25 TCU towards the end of the season.
