Orlando City 2, Inter Miami CF 0

BET on ORLANDO CITY SC (+115) because it’s hot and clearly the better team.

Soccer is oftentimes determined by who converts chances. Orlando City has done that and is tied for the fourth-most goals in MLS. Orlando has also given up the fewest goals of any team in the Eastern Conference.

With former Portuguese star MF Nani leading the way, Orlando has proven to be one of the best in MLS. Inter Miami, meanwhile, is playing in just its second MLS season.

Obviously still adjusting, Miami has struggled to get anything going lately. With no real scoring threat and just 8 goals through nine games, expect Orlando City to easily take this one.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 2.5 (-105) goals as Inter Miami is having a tough time scoring. Despite Orlando City SC being a scoring machine lately, it has scored 16 goals through 9 games on the season.

Orlando City should cool off. On top of that, it scored from the penalty spot and had just 8 shots on target in its last outing. For Inter Miami, only two Eastern Conference teams have fewer goals on the season.

It’s a gamble to take the total against a team that has averaged 4 goals per game over its last two outings, but it’s the right play. The Orlando City money line is the best value in this match, though.

Los Angeles FC 2, FC Dallas 1

Money line (ML)

LAFC (-275) will cost you more than two and a half times your potential return, and that’s just too risky for a team with just one victory across its past seven matches. Big money line wagers like that are a losing strategy over the long haul.

Instead, I prefer LAFC TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (+150) as a much better value.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 3.5 (-155) is the play here. LAFC generally has some of the highest totals on the board, but its offense has cooled significantly. Los Angeles is averaging just 1.0 goals per game across its past seven outings and has been much better defensively with just 4 goals allowed across its last three matches.

For FC Dallas, it has scored just 4 goals in its previous five matches, including a 1-1 draw against Minnesota United FC Saturday.

Neither of these teams have been particularly impressive this season. Nashville SC has been very careful, playing to draws in five of eight matches. Toronto FC remains upbeat despite a rough start, and the nomads are hopeful of returning north of the border soon.

Sounders 3, Real Salt Lake 1

BET on the SOUNDERS (-165) because, quite frankly, they’ve just been better than any other team in MLS. They’ve handled business against both mid-tier, low-tier and top-tier teams.

Seattle, behind F Raul Ruidiaz‘s MLS-leading 7 goals, has the second-most goals in MLS. It has also, by far, given up the fewest with just 4 goals allowed through nine games.

RSL is a solid opponent. It is tied for the sixth-most goals in MLS and has given up just 8 through seven games. However, it just won’t be enough against a talented Sounders team.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the OVER 2.5 (-135) because both teams are scoring machines. In a combined 16 matches, the two teams have managed 28 goals.

While they’ve given up just 12, that’s more on Seattle’s dominance. Both teams are clinical at finishing in the attacking third as the Sounders and RSL are tied for first and eighth, respectively, in goals within 18 yards.

They are also both within the top four in assists in MLS. Combine that with both teams hitting the Over in their last games, and the value is on the Over Wednesday.

RSL topped the projected total in five of seven games, and Seattle has hit it in four of nine.

UNDER 2.5 (+105) is the slam-dunk play on the board in this one. Minnesota is averaging just 1.0 goal per game across their last four, and they’re allowing just 0.5 GPG.

As for the Fire, they’ve lost six of their last seven games. Their only win of the season was at home.

Both teams played Saturday, so there could be some fatigue.

FC Cincinnati 1, Chicago Fire SC 0

BET on FC CINCINNATI +333 because it has the best value.

Cincinnati plays much better on the road and has had many looks in its last two games but just hasn’t been able to finish. It totaled 22 shots with 7 on goal against the playoff-contending Colorado Rapids Saturday.

FCC is dead last because it can’t defend, but Chicago can’t score. The Fire’s 4 goals are the fewest in MLS, so their weakness is matching up with Cincinnati’s weakness.

The Fire controlled possession in their last two matches and totaled more shots than their opponents.

The best value may be the combined FCC win or draw which is on BetMGM at +115. Both that and FCC outright are values worth betting.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 2.5 (+125) strictly on the fact that these two teams just cannot finish in the final third. They have a combined 10 goals through 15 games.

Both defenses are awful as well, so that’s not helpful. Since the commencement of the season, FCC has brought in D Geoff Cameron to at least attempt to strengthen the backline.

The Fire’s last six games haven’t hit 3 goals. After hitting that number in each of its first five games of the season, FC Cincinnati failed to score in its last two matches and has given up a combined 3 goals.

The Under has value as a plus-money bet, but I wouldn’t go crazy on it considering the weakness of the two defenses.

The Crew are coming off a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire Saturday and have won their last three games. Columbus lost to the New England Revolution and Toronto FC this season, both of which have been road games.

The Union are at home after a 2-2 draw with Atlanta United Saturday. They’re undefeated in their last six matches but are 2-2-1 at home, meaning they’ve actually been better away from Subaru Park.

Philadelphia Union 1, Columbus Crew 1

“LEAN” to the DRAW (+250) as the Crew have been playing well lately and the Union haven’t been better in front of their home fans this year. Also, these two teams play to the other’s strength.

The Union and Crew are at the top of the standings because they don’t give up many goals. In 17 combined games, they’ve given up 13 goals and have scored 20.

Neither team has a dynamic scorer, either. They win on the defensive end.

With Columbus coming off an impressive performance over Chicago and Philadelphia tying a game it really should’ve won, all season these two have seemed among the best in the East. This high-level battle could easily result in a tie.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (-125) because, as we noted, the defenses are the strength for both teams. Neither the Union nor the Crew have a player that’s put the ball in the back of the net more than 3 times.

Philadelphia has given up 7 goals, the third-fewest in the East while Columbus is tied with Orlando for the fewest at 6.

This could be a defensive battle, and for that reason, the UNDER 2.5 (-125) is the best value available.

Orlando City SC is coming off an electric 3-2 victory over Toronto FC Saturday. The only problem was that Orlando gave up 2 first-half goals. It was both out-shot and out-possessed but was still the better team in the end and enters Tuesday second in the Eastern Conference.

As for San Jose, it’s coming off a 0-0 draw against Austin FC. The Earthquakes were also out-shot in their first game since the international break. They’re currently eighth in the West, so they could really use at least a draw in this trip to Florida.

Prediction

Orlando City SC 1, San Jose Earthquakes 0

Money line (ML)

PASS on the money line as neither club offers great value. While I think Orlando City will pull this out, I wouldn’t be confident enough to bet it at -165.

Three of Orlando City’s four wins have come against teams in the bottom three of the East.

They don’t have an impressive resume yet and are just 2-0-2 at home. While that’s solid and betting against them also isn’t smart, the best opportunity may be a Draw.

As for San Jose, they’ve lost 4 of their last 5. However, they’re coming off a tie against Austin. The Earthquakes haven’t shown much, so their to-win value isn’t great, and neither is that coupled with the draw.

If you’re wanting to bet the money line, ORLANDO (-165) is the way to go, but there’s a better bet on the table.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (+125) because both teams have seen their fair share of struggles offensively. Both also played Saturday, so some fatigue could be a factor.

As for Orlando, their top scorer is former Portugal star M Nani who has 4 goals on the season. Given that only two of Orlando’s previous five games went Over 2 goals and that it should be the aggressor, I’d bet there isn’t a ton of action Tuesday.

Eight goals were scored in San Jose’s last five games. One goal was scored in its last 2 games. San Jose just doesn’t get the job done offensively.

For those reasons, I’d go with the UNDER 2.5 (+125).
