Colorado Rapids vs. Minnesota United FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Minnesota United FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (7 wins, 9 losses, 6 draws) host Minnesota United FC (10-8-5) Saturday at DSG Park. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Minnesota United FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Rapids have had one of the league’s most interesting home vs. away splits. They are 6-2-3 at home this season, yet are 1-7-3 on the road. They were winless on the road until their last match, a wild 5-4 win over the Red Bulls.

Colorado is led in scoring by 29-year-old F Diego Rubio, who has 10 goals on 24 shots on target. While strong at home, it has won just 1 of its last 4 home matches.

As for Minnesota, it has surged up to 3rd place in the West. Minnesota has won 5 of its last 7 and 4 straight on the road. It has scored 2 or more goals in 6 of the 7.

United is led by M Emanuel Reynoso, who has 9 goals on the season, but it has been a full team effort with 4 players having scored 4 or more times. Minnesota is 5-5-1 on the road this season.

Prediction

Minnesota United 2, Colorado Rapids 2

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW +310.

Colorado has cooled off at home recently. After winning 5 of its first 7 home matches, it is just 1-2-1 over its last 4. The formidable defense the team had a season ago is gone and replaced with a high-octane offense.

They’ll meet a Minnesota team that has drawn 2 of its last 4 and has one of the best defenses in the West, having allowed just 30 goals.

As noted above, Minnesota’s offense has found the back of the net consistently as well. United has played within an expected goal of its opponent in 4 of their last 5 matches.

With the value placed on the draw, it’s the preferred play as the Rapids are cooling at home and Minnesota has played to the level of its competition as of late.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN ALTERNATE OVER 3.5 (+145).

Minnesota has been on fire as of late and has gone over this adjusted total in 4 of its last 7 matches. Colorado has gone over it in 3 of its 6 as well as a 9-goal match its last time on the pitch.

Colorado has given the 6th-most goals in the conference while Minnesota is tied for the 7th-most goals allowed. The Rapids have scored 17 goals in 11 home matches while United is notching over 1.5 goals per game this season.

Combine it all, and I’d take this risky play but only for a partial unit.

Minnesota United FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Minnesota United FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Minnesota United FC (4 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws) welcomes FC Cincinnati (4-5-1) to Allianz Field Saturday for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff. Below, we preview the Minnesota United FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

United is one of the strongest home teams in the Western Conference with a 3-1-1 mark this season. Minnesota is coming off a 2-0 loss to LAFC which ended its 2-game win streak.

Minnesota averages 1.22 goals per game and allow just .89. They’re 1 of 5 teams in the West to have allowed single-digit goals. Outside of two 3-goal games, United has scored 5 goals in 7 games. It has 11 on the season led by F Robin Lod with 3.

FC Cincinnati is riding a 2-game winning streak. It already has as many wins this season as it did in all 34 games a year ago. FCC’s two-game winning streak were both against the M Michael Bradley-led Toronto FC.

FCC’s most recent 2-0 win felt disappointing as they played up a man for 85 minutes, having scored once before their early-game red card. Their only other goal was a penalty kick. FCC is led by F Brandon Vazquez, who has 5 goals on the season, and Captain M Luciano Acosta with 4.

  • Money line: Minnesota United -150 (bet $150 to win $100) | FC Cincinnati +390 (bet $100 to win $390) | Draw +310
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -170 | U: +135)

[tipico]

Prediction

Minnesota United 2, FC Cincinnati 0

Money line (ML)

LEAN to the MINNESOTA UNITED -150.

This is a little pricey which is why it’s just a lean. Had this game been 2 weeks ago, it might be around -200, so there is some value here as FCC’s recent play has likely aided this line in Minnesota’s favor.

United has won 2 straight home games and 3 of its last 4. Also, 3 of FCC’s 4 wins have come against teams outside of playoff position. Three of their 4 losses have come to teams in playoff position.

With United sitting 6th in the West, it should be able to possess and potentially score against a weak FCC defense. United is 2-0-1 against the East with its only draw against the conference-leading Philadelphia Union.

It’s pricey, but at -150, I’d lean to Minnesota.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the UNDER 2.5 (+135).

FC Cincinnati has played 2 games against teams that have allowed single-digit goals and have scored just once in those 2 games combined. LAFC won 2-1 and Austin won 5-0.

While those games still would have gone over this total, Minnesota’s offense isn’t even close to as dominant as Austin or LAFC, which sit 1-2 in goals scored in the MLS.

Minnesota ranks tied for the seventh-fewest shots on target this season. They should be able to limit FCC, but will also struggle to score themselves. Considering the value, this is my favorite play in the game.

Minnesota United vs. Colorado Rapids odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Minnesota United vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Minnesota United (2 wins, 2 losses, 2 draws) welcome the Colorado Rapids (2-2-2) to Allianz Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Minnesota United vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

United has had an interesting season, opening with two consecutive draws before posting back-to-back wins. However, Minnesota is currently on a two-game losing skid following a 2-1 loss to Seattle and most recently a 1-0 loss at Austin FC.

M Will Trapp has been the team’s captain for all but one game yet hasn’t scored this season. F Luis Amarilla leads the team with 2 goals on the season.

The Rapids are 2-0-1 at home but 0-2-1 on the road, so they’ve clearly been stronger at DSG Park this season.

Colorado has scored 8 and allowed 8 goals through six games. F Diego Rubio leads the team with 3 goals. The Rapids are coming off a 3-1 loss at FC Dallas last Saturday.

Minnesota United vs. Colorado Rapids: Odds, lines, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 12:55 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Minnesota +140 (bet $100 to win $140) | Colorado +205 (bet $100 to win $205) | Draw +230
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +100 | U: -120)

[tipico]

Prediction

Minnesota 1, Colorado 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to the DRAW (+230).

Both these teams have played well this season, and United really hasn’t been that good at home this season, accruing just 4 points in three games, which counters the Rapids struggles on the road.

United also has the league’s sixth-worst passing percentage and ranks in the bottom half of the league in shots. They don’t pressure often and have scored just 5 goals in three home games.

The Rapids are not a team that plays with too much pace either, typically dominating defensively. Colorado has scored just 2 goals in three road games.

These teams rank tied for 9th on the Western Conference table, both with 8 points through six games.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (-120).

The Rapids are 3-3 O/U this season while United is 1-5 O/U. Three of its last four games have ended with just 1 goal scored. Three of Colorado’s last four games have gone Under 2.5 goals.

Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in shots on target as well. Colorado and Minnesota are both also in the top half of the league in save percentage.

Put it all together, and at this value, the Under is the game’s best bet.

Minnesota United FC at Vancouver Whitecaps FC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Minnesota United FC at Vancouver Whitecaos FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In the last of many MLS games Saturday, Minnesota United FC (6 wins, 5 losses, 4 draws) travel to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (3-7-5) at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Minnesota United FC at Vancouver Whitecaps FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Both sides should be at full strength as neither have any players still in CONCACAF Gold Cup play. Each had at least one player that was in Canada’s 2-1 loss to Mexico in the semifinals.

United won two of their last three games and come off a 2-2 draw with Los Angeles FC Wednesday.

The Whitecaps, despite Rio Tinto Stadium not truly being at home, have all three of their victories there. They’ve won three of seven matches at home. They also come off a 2-2 draw with LAFC July 24.

Prediction

Minnesota United FC 1, Vancouver Whitecaps 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” on the DRAW (+280) as Vancouver has looked competent at home. They also have the more dynamic weapon in F Cristian Dájome, who has 6 goals through 15 matches.

With 4 goals in 10 appearances, M Robin Lod has been the only United player to find much success.

While the Whitecaps have given up 25 goals, taking out a 4-goal home loss to Real Salt Lake, Vancouver has given up just 4 goals in six matches at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (+120) as neither offense has shown much consistently. Both teams recently hit the Over against LAFC, but it’s tough to gauge their style against such an upbeat team.

Minnesota and Vancouver have a combined 105 shots on targets through 30 matches. Despite having recently found some success, the Whitecaps have the fewest shots on targets in all of MLS.

United hit the Under in nine of the last 13 matches. As neither team has an elite attack, expect a slow-paced game Saturday.

Minnesota United at Los Angeles FC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Minnesota United at Los Angeles FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In Wednesday’s only MLS game, Minnesota United (6 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws) visit Los Angeles FC (6-5-4). The match is set to kick off at 10:30 p.m. ET at Banc of California Stadium. Below, we preview the Minnesota United vs. Los Angeles FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Coming off a disappointing 2-2 draw against the Western Conference’s 12th-place Vancouver Whitecaps, Los Angeles FC (LAFC) looks to get back into the win column. It needs to work its way back up the table after a slow start to the season.

Currently, in fifth place, LAFC takes on the sixth-place Minnesota United. United has lost three of six games on the road, so it could be a tough outing for the away side.

Both teams will be down one player for CONCACAF Gold Cup action.

Minnesota United at Los Angeles FC: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:05 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Los Angeles FC 2, Minnesota United 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to LOS ANGELES FC (-225) despite the steep price.

LAFC is 4-1-3 at home. F Diego Rossi and F Carlos Vela are both healthy and the duo is the best two-man attacking combo in the MLS.

It’s almost impossible to limit that pair, especially when you bring in the speedster MF Latif Blessing. On top of those three, MF José Cifuentes has had a great season, tying Rossi for the most goals on the team with 5.

United is no pushover, but LAFC is the better team. It has won three of its last five matches and enters this game in good form.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 3.5 (-135) as Minnesota United is not a dynamic scoring site.

The total is 3.5 due to the attacking prowess of LAFC but it hit Over 3.5 just once this season. Vela hasn’t hit his full rhythm yet and should be limited against a solid United defense.

United has given up 17 goals in 14 games. LAFC has scored 20 and given up 17 in 15 games. All the figures equate to Under 3.5 being a good bet.

Seattle Sounders FC at Minnesota United FC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Seattle Sounders FC at Minnesota United FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In Sunday’s MLS action, Seattle Sounders FC (8 wins, 0 losses, 5 draws) and the Minnesota United FC (4-5-3) in a 2 p.m. ET kickoff at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minn. The match is televised on ESPN. The Sounders haven’t been bothered by going on the road, posting a 3-0-2 mark in five games away from home. They defeated Minnesota April 16, 4-0, in their home opener.

Minnesota has posted a 4-1-3 mark across the last eight outings after starting the season 0-4-0. It’s also unbeaten with three victories in the last four at Allianz Field.

Prediction

Seattle Sounders FC 1, Minnesota United FC 1

Money line (ML)

The Seattle Sounders are a very tempting play at plus money, but they have several players injured. Also, Alex Roldan is away from the team to play with El Salvador in the CONCACAF Gold Cup while his brother Cristian Roldan plays for the USMNT. Meanwhile, Minnesota United FC is without Dayne St. Clair, who is playing for Canada at the Gold Cup.

The best play – and the best value – is rolling with the DRAW (+270) for a chance to nearly triple up.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+115) is the “lean” at plus money. Minnesota United FC has cashed the Under 2.5 goals in seven of their last eight MLS matches, and Seattle has had a total of two goals in each of its last two matches overall.

Minnesota United FC at Portland Timbers preview, odds and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Minnesota United FC at Portland Timbers odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Below, we preview the Minnesota United FC vs. Portland Timbers odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Minnesota United FC enter on a five-match unbeaten run, going 3-0-2 since a May 8 loss at Colorado, including an impressive 2-0 victory Wednesday on their home pitch against Austin FC. Minnesota has allowed a total of just two goals during the five-game run.

The Timbers picked up a high-scoring 2-2 draw Wednesday on the road against Houston, and they’re a solid 3-1-1 across their last five matches.

Prediction

Minnesota United FC 2, Portland Timbers 2

Money line (ML)

Both of these sides come in on hot streaks, and a DRAW (+280) is the most attractive play on the board with a chance to nearly triple up.

Austin FC has played to three consecutive draws, including a pair of scoreless matches. They already have one match under their belts against Minnesota, winning 1-0 in St. Paul on May 1.

Prediction

Austin FC 1, Minnesota United FC 1

Money line (ML)

Austin FC is a tempting play, as one of their two victories in this inaugural season is against Minnesota United FC. However both of these sides are piling up ties lately, and DRAW (+280) is the best value on the board.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+105) is the slam-dunk play on the board in this one. Minnesota is averaging just 1.0 goal per game across their last four, and they’re allowing just 0.5 GPG.

For Austin, it’s all about defense, and they have seen an average of just 0.75 total goals per game across their past four matches. For the total to go Over 2.5 would be a near miracle in an Austin match.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:43 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Sporting KC 2, Minnesota United FC 1

Money line (ML)

SPORTING KC (-143) is the play as heavy favorites against Minnesota United FC (+350) or the Draw (+320) on the 3-way line. Kansas City picked up a 1-0 win over Minnesota Sept. 14 at Children’s Mercy Park. Minnesota won 2-1 in the previous two meetings, including a match July 13.

While Minnesota United FC has played Sporting KC well, the home side is 4-1 across its past five at home, and 7-1-1 across the past nine matches overall. Look for the favorites to cash, but it won’t be easy.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-175) is a little on the steep side, but playing the alternate line of Over 3.5 (+135) is a tad risky. Sporting KC has seen a total of 17 goals over the past five matches, or 3.4 total goals per match. For Minnesota United FC, they have seen a total of three or more goals in each of their past four outings, averaging 3.3 goals per match. Look for at least three goals here.

Prediction

Minnesota United FC 2, Colorado 1

Money line (ML)

MINNESOTA UNITED FC (+120) endured a bevy of injuries, but that actually helped galvanize the team as it went on a late run to secure the fourth seed in the West and a home playoff match.

Minnesota posted four wins and four draws with no losses across the final eight matches, including a 2-1 win over the Colorado Rapids (+210) on Oct. 29 at this very same venue. It’s going to seem like deja vu for the Rapids, but they go down 2-1 again in this one.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-162) is the lean here as Minnesota has scored two or more goals in each of its past five home matches, averaging 2.2 goals per game during the stretch. Colorado has enjoyed high-scoring matches lately, too, posting at least 3.4 goals per match across its past eight matches.
