Toronto FC vs. Charlotte FC odds, picks and predictions

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Toronto FC (1 win, 1 draw, 0 losses) welcomes Charlotte FC (1-1-0) to BMO Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET (Apple TV). Below, we preview FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Toronto FC vs. Charlotte FC odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

Toronto has a win and a draw this season, yet has only scored 1 goal, netted by Italian F Lorenzo Insigne. It is coming off a 1-0 win on the road Sunday at the New England Revolution and drew FC Cincinnati 0-0 in its season-opening match Feb. 25. Saturday will be Toronto’s 1st home game. It was just 4-6-7 at home a season ago.

Charlotte has a home win and road draw on its resume. It has scored 2 goals and allowed 1, coming off a 1-1 road draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps March 2. Charlotte has had more expected goals in both of its games this season. F Iuri Tavares, who turned 23 Friday, is the player to watch, scoring his 1st MLS goal against Vancouver last weekend.

Toronto FC vs. Charlotte FC picks and predictions

Prediction

Charlotte FC 1, Toronto FC 1

Moneyline (ML)

SPRINKLE DRAW (+260).

Both teams have a draw, but the results have looked different for each side. Charlotte dominated NYCFC at home, having 4 times as many expected goals in its season-opening 1-0 victory. As mentioned, Charlotte drew Vancouver on the road with just 0.3 more expected goals.

Meanwhile, Toronto has won and drawn but has had fewer expected goals in both games. It hasn’t quite played to the level of its opponent despite the results. At home, it should be able to keep pace with Charlotte, a team that drew 5 times on the road last season.

Expect a close match and, for this value, TAKE DRAW (+260).

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-102).

Neither team has scored multiple goals in a game this season, and neither has allowed multiple goals either. Toronto has scored 1 goal and allowed 0 while Charlotte has scored 1 and allowed 1.

Toronto has had 0.7 or fewer expected goals in both games, so it hasn’t been able to put much together offensively. Charlotte has just 7 shots on goal this season, so it hasn’t peppered its opponents either.

Given both teams early-season style of play, BET UNDER 2.5 (-102).

Inter Miami vs. Toronto FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Inter Miami vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Inter Miami (8 wins, 4 draws, 15 losses) welcomes Toronto FC (4-10-14) to DRV PNK Stadium Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (Apple TV). Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Inter Miami vs. Toronto FC odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

Inter Miami has exploded onto the scene since acquiring star F Lionel Messi. They won the Leagues Cup and are in the final of the U.S. Open Cup. Since Messi’s arrival, Inter is 3-1-1 in MLS action, but they are still far from being a playoff-caliber side given their struggles for much of the season. F Leonardo Campana has the most goals for the team in MLS action with 9, followed by Josef Martinez with 6. Miami lost 5-2 without Messi to Atlanta United Saturday.

Toronto FC’s struggle has been scoring, having tallied 24 goals in 28 matches. Its 2 leading scorers, F Deandre Kerr and F Federico Bernardeschi, have just 5 goals each. Toronto recently snapped an 8-game losing streak with a 3-1 home win over Philadelphia. However, it quickly got back to its losing ways in a 2-1 home loss to Vancouver. Toronto has yet to win on the road and is just 0-4-9 in away matches this season.

Inter Miami vs. Toronto FC picks and predictions

Prediction

Inter Miami 3, Toronto FC 1

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Even if Messi doesn’t play, there’s no reason to think Toronto can compete with Miami. Inter added players like D Jordi Alba and M Sergio Busquets to go along with Messi, and the trio has created one of the best teams in the MLS.

Toronto has been awful on the road while Miami has looked strong with its new additions, even when Messi isn’t on the pitch, although he’s expected to play Wednesday. Miami’s new-look roster should trump Toronto with ease, but at -275, there’s no value on a moneyline bet for Miami.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 3.5 (+105).

Now, taking the Over is a bet on the home side. Miami has scored 3 or more goals in 2 of its last 3 games, and it has allowed multiple goals in 2 of those 3 as well. It has allowed 8 goals over its last 3 games. Miami’s defense has given up 1.63 goals per game, so even a weak Toronto side should have some opportunity.

Toronto has allowed 2 or more goals in 3 of its last 4 games and has allowed 3 or more goals in 4 road matches this season. Its defense may not be able to hold up against the level of attack the Messi-led side will bring. Back OVER 3.5 (+105).

Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with expert MLS picks, predictions and best bets.

Toronto FC (0 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) welcome the Columbus Crew (1-1-0) to BMO Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (Apple TV+). Below, we preview Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds, and make our best expert MLS picks and predictions.

Toronto FC will see its first home action of the season this week. It fell 3-2 against D.C. United in Week 1 and is most recently coming off a 1-1 draw against Atlanta United FC. All 3 of Toronto’s goals this season have come in the 2nd half and 3 of the 4 goals it has conceded have also been scored in the 2nd half. Dating back to last season, Toronto is 0-2-1 in its last 3 home matches.

Columbus is coming off a 2-0 home victory against D.C. United last week after being blown out 4-1 on the road against the Philadelphia Union in Week 1. All 3 of the Crew’s goals have come in the 1st half of their games, and in both of their previous games they have allowed more shots than they have taken. Dating back to last season, the Crew are 0-3-1 in their last 4 road games.

Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew picks and predictions

Prediction

Columbus Crew 2, Toronto FC 1

Moneyline (ML)

LEAN COLUMBUS CREW +260.

While Columbus has struggled on the road of late, is has started games much stronger than Toronto has. All of the Crew’s goals have come in the first half which has an impact on the momentum of the game moving forward. The Crew are averaging 1.5 1st-half goals this season which is good for 2nd in the MLS.

The Crew have beaten Toronto FC in each of their last 3 matchups by a score of 2-1 and until proven otherwise deserve to be backed, especially at +260.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-120).

Both teams sport a 1-1 O/U record thus far with both Overs hitting in losses, but not due to lack of opportunity. In their 2 games this season, the Crew are averaging 10 shots a game while Toronto is averaging 5.5.

On the flip side, both teams’ defenses have allowed ample opportunities with the Crew giving up an average of 17 shots per game and Toronto giving up 13 shots per game.

Taking into account the fast style of play and amount of opportunities on both sides of the ball, take the OVER 2.5 (-120), despite the juice.

Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Toronto FC (5 wins, 8 losses, 3 draws) welcomes the Columbus Crew (4-5-6) to BMO Field Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Toronto FC has been disappointing this season, but it was a 5-game losing streak that really broke the camel’s back. They’ve yet to draw on the road and have 5-3-0 home record.

They’re captained by former USMNT M Michael Bradley. However, it’s F Jesús Jiménez who leads the team in scoring with 7 goals on the season. Toronto is allowing 1.88 goals per game.

The Crew have also struggled to find any rhythm this season. Columbus sits below Toronto in the standings due to their 6 draws. They haven’t been able to close out games well.

Having scored just 18 goals this season, the Crew are led by 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán with a team-high 4 goals. The Crew are 1-2-5 on the road this season.

Toronto FC vs. Columbus Crew odds, lines, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 11:14 p.m. ET.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -125 | U: +102)

[tipico]

Prediction

Toronto 2, Columbus 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN TORONTO +165.

Toronto has been absolutely awful on the road this season, but they’ve shown some life at home.

They have won 2 straight home games and have defeated the top 2 teams in their conference, NYCFC and Philadelphia, at BMO Field. Toronto has scored multiple goals in 5 of 8 home matches.

Columbus is coming off a Saturday draw at Real Salt Lake, so the turnaround from West Coast time back to East Coast along with the traveling may also pose a challenge.

While Columbus has more shots than Toronto on the season, they rank last in the MLS in shots on target. They’ve consistently failed to complete chances, and that should continue into their battle Wednesday.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-140).

Toronto is sloppy defensively, and it’s been tough to watch at times this season.

They’ve allowed 13 goals in 8 home matches and have gone over this total in all but one home battle, a 1-0 loss to Orlando Ciity. Even Columbus has topped this total in 4 of its last 7.

The Crew haven’t converted chances often, but they do rank in the top half of the league in passing rate. Against a weak defense, they should be able to break through at least once as moving the ball up the field should be far easier than against most other sides.

Toronto has the 2nd-most shots against in the MLS. The volume chances will be there for Columbus, and both sides should be able to convert the opportunities.

FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati (3 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw) welcomes Toronto FC (3-4-2) to TQL Stadium Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FCC and Toronto played each other last weekend with Cincinnati defeating the home side 2-1. Toronto beat Cincinnati in expected goals and had a few late-game pushes but failed to equalize.

The win moved FCC out of last place in the Eastern Conference. It was also its first win since March 19 after a streak of 4 straight winless matches.

FCC is led by F Brandon Vazquez (5 goals). M Luciano Acosta is the only FCC player with more than 1 goal this season. FCC is just 1-3-0 at home.

Toronto FC has yet to tally a win on the road and will get a prime chance here. Toronto is 0-2-2 on the road. Captained by former UNMNT M Michael Bradley, F Jesús Jiménez leads the team in scoring with 7 goals.

  • Over/Under: 3.5 (O: +1350 | U: -170)

[tipico]

Prediction

Toronto FC 3, FC Cincinnati 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN to TORONTO +250.

Beating a team multiple times in a 5-day span is not easy, and Toronto FC should be able to use fuel from its home loss to propel it in this road battle.

Also, as noted, they did have more expected goals and more shots, just were not connecting. They out-shot FCC 11-7 and had 66% of the possession.

Given neither team has been good in the situation they’re in Wednesday night, I would shy against laying better odds on the team that was at the bottom of the East coming into last weekend.

Toronto has the league’s highest shooting percentage, so they should be able to get looks on frame. They had just 3 on target from 11 shots, which should change on Wednesday.

At this value, I’ll take Toronto for a small unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the OVER 3.5 (+140).

Given the values on the 2 suggestions, I wouldn’t back a full-unit bet, but these are 2 of the worst defensive teams in the MLS.

Toronto is 1 of the 4 MLS teams without a clean sheet and FCC is the only team with just 1 clean sheet. Toronto has the second-most shots against them while FCC sits in the bottom 6 as well.

Toronto has gone north of this in 2 of its last 4 while FCC has hit it once while also having seen 3 total goals netted in its last 2 matches. The pace and poor defense should be clear on Wednesday.

Toronto FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Toronto FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Toronto FC (3 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws) welcomes FC Cincinnati (2-5-1) to BMO Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Toronto FC vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Toronto FC is coming off a thrilling 4-5 loss to NYCFC. Toronto has had quite the season, scoring 15 goals in 8 games and allowing 17. Those respectively rank second and tied for last.

It plays at an ultra-high pace and has seen 16 goals scored in its last 3 games. Toronto is led by 28-year-old Spanish F Jesús Jiménez who has 6 goals on the season.

As for FC Cincinnati, it has allowed 2 goals per game yet has only allowed more than 2 goals twice, once to Austin FC to open the season and against Montreal CF.

FCC has looked better than it did a season ago but still sits last in the Eastern Conference. FCC’s main weapon is F Breener, but it has been F Brandon Vazquez that has led the team in scoring with 5 goals.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -190 | U: +155)

[tipico]

Prediction

Toronto FC 2, FC Cincinnati 0

Money line (ML)

BET on TORONTO FC -135.

FC Cincinnati is actually averaging more points per game on the road than at home. That should change as the season progresses.

Toronto, on the other hand, has lost just once at home, a 4-1 defeat at the hand of the New York Red Bulls.

While Toronto may have a horrible defense that’s allowed numerous goals, FCC’s offense has been held scoreless in half its games. Also, in both the road games that FCC did not lose, it has fewer expected goals.

You’re getting in a little late as it was steamed up to -135 from -111 overnight. FCC is the worst team in the East, and at this value, I’d bet they struggle on the road.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN to the UNDER 2.5 (+155).

This is strictly a value play. While Toronto’s offense has scored at will, its expected goals haven’t kept pace.

It’s scored 8 goals in its last 3 games yet had just 1.9 expected goals. It has capitalized on opportunities but has not had many of them. Toronto is t-16 in shots on goal.

Also, FCC has had a few big-time games that it has scored numerous goals, but that hasn’t been its regular style.

With how Toronto has scored a flunky amount of goals to shots on target and FCC has struggled in several games, for this value, I’ll take the Under 2.5 (+155).

New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

In one of seven MLS games on Saturday, New England Revolution (12 wins, 3 losses, 4 draws) travel further south to take on Toronto FC (3-9-6) at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

This match will feature the best team in the East against the worst. Currently, in first place, the Revolution have been rolling lately.

They’re unbeaten in their last six, having won five of them. Oddly enough, their last loss was to Toronto FC. The Revolution have the most goals in the MLS, led by Argentinian F Gustavo Bou, who has 11.

As for Toronto FC, they have 23 goals on the season with 16 of them being by a different player. That said, despite sitting at the bottom of the conference, they’ve lost just one of their last seven games.

Prediction

New England Revolution 3, Toronto FC 1

Money line (ML)

BET on NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION (+150) despite them being away from their home field. Taking to the road actually gives favorable odds for New England.

They’ve recently brought back all their Gold Cup players including starting GK Matt Turner. Having won the bulk of their games and being red hot as of late, I’d expect the Revolution to once again handle business.

Even on the road, New England has won five of 10 matches. As for Toronto, they’re not much better at home, losing seven of 10, although that should be discounted for them not actually playing in Canada for most of the season.

New England attack should prevail against the worst defenses in the league. I wouldn’t expect Toronto to put up three goals on a New England side that has given up 22 in 19 matches this season.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the OVER 2.5 (-180) although the value isn’t great. Given Toronto’s defensive woes all season long, betting the Over 3.5 (+135) could also be an interesting play. The odds at 3.5 are the exact same just flipped.

The last time these two teams met, the final score was 3-2 Toronto. Toronto has, by far, the worst defense in the East. They’ve allowed 38 goals in 18 matches. No other team has topped 30.

They’ve scored, and their scoring is diverse. Along with a dynamic New England offense, expect a plethora of goals in this match. The Over 2.5 should be an easy bet with 3.5 being a riskier option.

Toronto FC at New England Revolution Odds, picks and prediction

In one of eight MLS games Wednesday, Toronto FC (1 win, 8 losses, 2 draws) travel to take on the New England Revolution (7-2-3) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Toronto FC vs. New England Revolution odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

This is a matchup of the best and worst teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Revolution are first in the East and are coming off a 2-2 draw with the Columbus Crew Saturday. They have gone 3-1-1 over their last five games.

Toronto enters as a heavy underdog. TFC has a critical defending problem, having given up 27 goals on the season.

Prediction

New England Revolution 3, Toronto FC 1

Money line (ML)

BET on the REVOLUTION (-200) because they’re the much better team, and TFC is in absolute shambles. Combining both of those and adding in that the Revolution are at home makes this an easy choice. It’s a steep price, but it’s one that should hit.

With F Gustavo Bou having 6 goals on the season against good competition, he should add to that total against Toronto. New England has the fourth-most shots on target in MLS while Toronto has the worst save percentage in the league.

With the New England defense having been far from flawless itself, expect this to be a high-scoring match.

New England is 5-0-0 at home this season should come out on top Wednesday.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 3.5 (+125) as New England has the East’s best offense and a flawed defense.

Toronto has the worst defense in MLS by far. If New England gets an early goal, this game may get out of hand as an already-weak TFC defense may be forced to play with pace.

Overall, it’s not looking pretty for the Under. Over 2.5 hit in New England’s last four games and in five of its last six. As for Toronto, Over 2.5 cashed in four of its last five games.

Coming off an effort in which it gave up 7 goals to D.C. United, Toronto will play a much better and more tactical Revolution attack which may result in a similarly lopsided result.

Prediction

DC United 2, Toronto FC 1

Money line (ML)

DC UNITED (-125) is favored in this home match at Audi Field, not so much because it’s on fire, but because Toronto FC has been so awful.

The previous five meetings in this series have actually been draws, so a winner would be a rare occasion.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-105) is a value play in this battle in the nation’s capital. Toronto FC conceded at least 2 goals in each of its last four matches.

DC United hit the Over last time out and should be able to find the back of the net against a Toronto FC side that is tied for the most goals allowed (20) in MLS.

FC Cincinnati at Toronto FC odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s FC Cincinnati at Toronto FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks and predictions.

In one of several MLS games Saturday night, FC Cincinnati (2 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw) travels south to take on Toronto FC (1-6-2) at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati is playing solid soccer as it comes off its second win of the season. Brazilian F Brenner has been drawing starts and getting good looks while GK Kenneth Vermeer has stepped up in the last few games.

Toronto FC has been playing in Orlando due to COVID-19 restrictions on crossing borders. Toronto is coming off back-to-back 3-2 losses, but it has been able to put the ball in the back of the net, something FC Cincinnati allows to happen frequently.

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 2, Toronto FC 2

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to the DRAW (+290) as a value play because both these teams are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and should play at the same level.

While FC Cincinnati has played very well as of late, pushing the New England Revolution to their limits, it has shown very little consistency on backline and Toronto should be able to exploit that.

Toronto FC is 13th in the East but only four teams in the conference have more goals. Both of these squads give up goals at an alarming rate, and that should yield a rather unpredictable match.

While I may pass on the money line altogether, the DRAW (+290) offers good value, as does the FC Cincinnati money line. You can get FC Cincinnati to win or draw for +110.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-175), and honestly, I’d probably take this to the next level.

You can get Over 3.5 goals for +135 and Over 4.5 goals for +300, both presenting risky but relatively good values. I’d stick it out at the 2.5 as it seems like easy money.

FC Cincinnati has 1 goal but 41 shots over its last two games. It gets into scoring positions, and against a side that allows those to be completed, FCC should get on the board early and often.

In what’s expected to be a high-scoring affair, Toronto FC should also look to pile on the scoring, having scored twice in each of its last two games against better defensive teams than FCC.

Twenty-nine-year-old MF Jonathan Osorio will look to continue his two-game scoring streak, and there’s no reason to think he won’t have a couple of chances to put one away.

However, FC Cincinnati hasn’t seen a total Over 2.5 goals in any its last three games, so it’s not an entirely risk-free bet.
