Texas A&M flips 4-star Georgia WR commit

The Georgia Bulldogs lost a commitment from class of 2023 wide receiver recruit Raymond Cottrell

The Texas A&M Aggies flipped class of 2023 wide receiver recruit Raymond Cottrell. Cottrell had been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs for quite some time, but he signed with Texas A&M according to one of his social media posts.

The four-star plays high school football for Milton High School in Milton, Florida. Cottrell ranks as the No. 148 recruit in the class of 2023. He is considered the No. 24 wide receiver in his class and one of the best recruits in Florida.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound receiver has excellent size and is Texas A&M’s 19th commitment in the class of 2023.

Cottrell’s decommitment brings Georgia’s recruiting class down to 26 players. However, Kirby Smart and Georgia have signed three other wide receivers. Additionally, Georgia landed a pair of extremely talented receivers via the transfer portal: Rara Thomas and Dominic Lovett. Georgia has the No. 2 recruiting class in the country behind Alabama.

Lebbeus Overton, the nation’s No. 3 overall recruit reclassifies, names top five schools including Georgia.

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for five-star defensive end recruit Lebbeus Overton.

Overton was rated as the No. 3 player in the country in the class of 2023, but is now reclassifying to the class of 2022. Overton is a talented defensive end that plays for Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia offered Overton a scholarship midway through his freshman season in high school. Overton received an invitation to the 2023 All-American Bowl.

Overton is extremely quick off the snap and has an excellent first step. The five-star defensive end put up incredible high school stats (over 40 career sacks). He’ll make an immediate impact at one lucky college football program.

Overton also plays basketball at an elite level. He’s a special athlete. He has a basketball scholarship offers from Stanford, Ohio State, North Carolina, and more.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end has the frame to play in the SEC despite reclassifying. Overton named his top five schools of Georgia, Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.

Cottrell ranks as the No. 82 recruit in the class of 2023. He’s considered the No. 12 wide receiver in his class.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound receiver has excellent size. He is Georgia football’s seventh commitment in the class of 2023. Cottrell joins fellow four-star wide receiver Daquayvious Sorey as Georgia’s two receiver commitments in the class of 2023.

Things aren’t looking pretty for Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators in recruiting. Florida has the 22nd-ranked class of 2022 at the moment. SEC East rival UGA has the second-ranked class in the country.

Georgia Bulldogs in first six for Milton wide receiver

The Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, and more are in Milton WR Debron Gatling’s first six.

The Georgia Bulldogs offered a scholarship back in November to Debron Gatling, who plays wide receiver for Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. Gatling is a member of the class of 2024, so he’s only a freshman in high school.

Despite his age, Gatling already has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Minnesota, and Duke. He’s an in-state recruiting target to watch moving forward for the Bulldogs.

Gatling has decent size at 6-foot-1 and weighs 180 pounds. He’s a good route runner and gains separation easily. On this play against McEachern High School, Gatling showed his ability to get separation on a post route that results in a touchdown:

It will be fun to see Gatling’s game develop. He obviously tons of potential, and he’s already been able to show off his abilities against solid competition in high school.
