The 76ers are reportedly waiving Foster in order to sign third-year guard Saben Lee to a two-way contract.

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly waiving rookie Michael Foster Jr. in order to sign third-year guard Saben Lee to a two-way contract, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

Lee, the 38th pick in 2020, played the last two seasons with the Detroit Pistons before the team traded him to the Utah Jazz in September in the deal involving Bojan Bogdanovic. He was cut by the Jazz and later joined the Raptors 905 in the NBA G League.

He is averaging 21.7 points, six assists and 3.4 rebounds with the 905.

Foster went undrafted out of the G League Ignite this year. He played with the Sixers in summer league and made three appearances in the preseason before the team converted him to a two-way contract. He made one appearance with the Sixers.

76ers’ Michael Foster Jr. to be converted to two-way contract

Foster will reportedly be converted to a two-way contract ahead of the Sixers’ season opener.

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Michael Foster Jr. will reportedly be converted to a two-way contract ahead of the season opener, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Foster, who went undrafted from the NBA G League Ignite, originally signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the 76ers in July. The expectation was Foster would compete for a two-way contract, and the 19-year-old won the job after a strong offseason.

The Sixers will waive Charlie Brown Jr. to make room for Foster.

Foster played with the Sixers in summer league, averaging 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds on 44.4% shooting from the field. He played sparingly with the Sixers during the preseason, though, totaling five points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in three appearances.

NBA draft prospect Michael Foster: ‘Everybody is going to see I was out of position’

NBA draft prospect Michael Foster was a starter for the G League Ignite, but he believes that he was playing out of position last season.

NBA prospect Michael Foster decided to forego college to play for the G League Ignite, and now he already has pro experience before the draft.

Foster averaged 14.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game for the Ignite. He averaged 1.29 points per possession on his catch-and-shoot attempts, per Synergy, which ranked in the 90th percentile among all G League players. It was also hard for opponents to score against him near the basket.

While at the NBA Draft Combine, he measured at 6’9.25″ in shoes with a 7’0.25″ wingspan. Despite the measurements, the former Hillcrest Prep standout told For The Win that he believes he is more of a wing than a big man.

Read more about how Foster sees his game translating to the next level, what he likes to do when he is not playing basketball, and plenty more.

5 possible sleeper candidates to watch for in 2022 NBA draft

Rookie Wire took a look at five possible sleeper candidates in the upcoming NBA draft.

Last year, Herb Jones shocked the NBA as a second-round pick who entered the league and had an immediate impact. After his selection at 35th overall by New Orleans, Jones went on to average 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals at 29.9 minutes per game.

Jones, who was eventually named to the NBA All-Rookie second team, offered extremely valuable defensive basketball and complimentary offense to a Pelicans squad that overperformed their preseason expectations and made it to the playoffs.

It’s safe to say that, entering the 2022 NBA draft, every team would like to find their own version of Jones: A rookie with the ability to prosper and contribute meaningful minutes immediately if given the chance.

Here are five possible options that could meet that criterion in 2022.

The best prospects in the world are all competing for the top spot in the 2022 NBA draft and it is hard to sort how everyone is stacking up.

In order to help us get a better sense of where all of the projected top prospects in the class stand as of right now, we compiled mock drafts from Draft Express (ESPN), Aran Smith (NBADraft.net), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Chad Ford (NBA Big Board), Krysten Peek (Yahoo), Matt Babcock (Basketball News) as well as USA TODAY Sports Media Group’s For The Win.

Please note that these rankings reflect the composite score in order to get a feel for consensus, not our own opinion. Predictions for a first overall pick earned a player 58 points while the second overall pick earned 57 points, the third overall earned 56 points, and so on.

AJ Griffin (Duke), Alondes Williams (Wake Forrest), Iverson Molinar (Mississippi State), Orlando Robinson (Fresno State), Walker Kessler (Fresno State), Justin Lewis (Marquette), Christian Braun (Kansas), and Tari Eason (LSU) have improved their draft stock the most since our most recent update last month.\

The most notable prospects who made their debut on our rankings were Shaedon Sharpe (Kentucky), David Roddy (Colorado State), and Jaylin Williams (Arkansas).

Meanwhile, the top prospects who were not included in any of these recent mock drafts are Daimion Collins (Kentucky), Alex Fudge (LSU), Justin Moore (Villanova), Darius Days (LSU), Jared Rhoden (Seton Hall), Tre Mitchell (Texas), Dawson Garcia (North Carolina), and more.

Otherwise, you can learn the latest updates on every single prospect who has been included in recent mock drafts by scrolling below.
