4 pending free agents the Colts should not re-sign

Here are four pending free agents the Colts should not re-sign this offseason.

With so many critical choices for the Indianapolis Colts this offseason, the team needs to improve in all phases. The team has a prime opportunity to elevate the roster, starting with free agency in March.

Here are four pending free agents the Colts should not re-sign:

Colts’ 5 most disappointing players of 2022

Here are five Colts who disappointed the most in 2022.

As a team, the Indianapolis Colts did not meet the high expectations owner Jim Irsay and general manager Chris Ballard set for the 2022 season. With that, some players particularly underperformed.

Here are the Colts’ five most disappointing players of 2022:

Colts not revealing replacement plan for RT Braden Smith

The Colts are keeping Braden Smith’s replacement close to the vest.

The Indianapolis Colts will be without starting right tackle Braden Smith against arguably the best defense in football in the Dallas Cowboys, and it isn’t clear how the team will proceed in replacing him.

Smith will miss the game due to an illness he picked up late in the week. Interim head coach Jeff Saturday was asked how they will replace the starting right tackle, but he declined to give an answer.

“Right now with right tackle, I’m going to kind of keep that to myself. I’d like for us to keep it. But yeah man, obviously losing Braden (Smith) is huge,” Saturday told reporters. “He’s a fantastic player for us, very consistent. So, whatever we go in there, we’ll be confident with it, but I’d like to hold that one until we kick it off.”

There are two likely options the Colts can go in replacing smith. Veteran Dennis Kelly would be the logical option. He’s been working as the backup right tackle over the last few weeks and has the most experience in that role.

The other would be Matt Pryor, which would come much to the chagrin of Colts fans. After failing to secure the starting left tackle and right guard spots, Pryor shouldn’t be on the field in a starting capacity. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this regime forced him onto the field as they did for the majority of the first half of the season.

It may not truly matter who is replacing Smith at right tackle. The Colts offensive line has performed as one of the worst in the NFL while the Cowboys have one of the best defensive lines in all of football, led by Defensive Player of the Year candidate Micah Parsons.

We’ll see what happens when the Colts begin warmups before Sunday night’s game, but the team will play this close to the vest as much as they can.

Colts’ Matt Pryor (illness) released from hospital

Colts OL Matt Pryor was released from the hospital after battling an illness.

Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Matt Pryor missed Sunday’s loss against the Philadelphia Eagles after spending the day in the hospital due to an illness that caught him late in the week.

Fortunately, Pryor has since been released from the hospital and is on the mend according to interim head coach Jeff Saturday, who spoke with reporters Monday.

“Pryor woke up Sunday feeling ill, the medical team thought it would be best to send him to the hospital to get evaluated. He did that, was there yesterday and then was released and is feeling better,” Saturday said.

It’s encouraging to see that Pryor’s health is getting better. Anytime a player is sent to the hospital due to an illness is usually a scary time, but it appears he’ll be ready to join his teammates soon.

Pryor has been working has the backup right guard after losing starting spots both at left tackle and right guard this season. Since Saturday took over as interim head coach, the Colts have been rolling with rookie Bernhard Raimann on the blind side and second-year Will Fries at right guard.

Eagles-Colts: Who has the edge at each position on offense?

Looking at who has the positional edge in the Week 11 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts

The Eagles and Colts are just moments from an exciting Week 11 matchup, and we’re looking at who has the position at each position on offense.

At quarterback, Jalen Hurts will look to get Philadelphia’s offense back to running at an efficient pace, with A.J. Brown the main focal point with Dallas Goedert out.

Both teams have explosive players at running back, with Jonathan Taylor (IND) and Miles Sanders (PHI) among the league leaders in rushing yards.

With kickoff minutes away, we’re looking at who has the edge at each position.

Eagles-Colts inactives for Week 11

The Philadelphia Eagles released their list of inactives for their Week 11 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts; Both Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh will play

The Eagles released their list of inactives for Sunday’s matchup against the Colts, and their two newest defensive tackles will play.

Philadelphia deactivated five players for Sunday, with Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh expected to see their share of snaps.

After giving up 150 yards on the ground in back-to-back weeks, the Eagles added veteran reinforcements to help offset the loss of Jordan Davis.

3 causes for concern as the Eagles and Colts meet in Week 11

The Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts are set for a Sunday afternoon matchup, and we’ve highlighted three causes for concern

The Eagles are in the midwest again; this time, Philadelphia traveled to Indianapolis to face the rejuvenated Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Birds will look to rebound from a disastrous Monday night performance against the Commanders that saw an eight-game winning streak snapped.

Philadelphia wants to keep control of the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and they’ll be watching an exciting matchup between the Cowboys and Vikings.

With kickoff fast approaching, here are three causes for concern.

Colts’ Matt Pryor in hospital with illness

Colts OL Matt Pryor will be inactive as he’s in the hospital due to an illness.

Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Matt Pryor is reportedly in the hospital due to an illness and will not play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, per James Palmer of NFL Network.

While Pryor lost his starting roles this season (left tackle and right guard), he has been serving as the backup right guard to starter Will Fries.

However, there was a  chance Pryor would start if right tackle Braden Smith would be inactive. Smith is dealing with a back injury and was listed as questionable on the final injury report.

With Pryor out Sunday, the Colts will have to rely on Smith (if active) and likely veteran Dennis Kelly.

There has been a pretty contagious bug going around the Colts’ facility this week as Kenny Moore II started the week with an illness but was taken off the final injury report. Meanwhile, linebacker Zaire Franklin and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers Sr. popped up on the injury report and were listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Hopefully, the illness is nothing serious and Pryor can return to the team as soon as possible. If Smith can’t play, it’s likely the Colts turn to the veteran Kelly.
