Colts’ PFF grades: Best and worst from Week 6

Taking a look at the best and worst Pro Football Focus grades from the Colts’ win in Week 6.

The Indianapolis Colts (3-2-1) came out with a 34-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-4) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 6.

It was a big win for the Colts, who needed to get on the board against a division opponent for the first time this season. It was most encouraging to see the offense perform in the highest capacity it had all season. They scored over 30 points for the first time since Week 13 of the 2020 season.

Using 15 snaps played as the qualifying threshold, here’s a look at the best and worst Pro Football Focus grades from Week 6:

Studs and duds from Colts’ 12-9 win over Broncos

Studs and duds from the Colts’ 12-9 win over the Broncos in Week 5.

Despite failing to find the end zone for the entire game, the Indianapolis Colts (2-2-1) found themselves on the victorious side of a 12-9 win over the Denver Broncos (2-3) on Thursday night.

This game was sloppier than a steak at Truffoni’s when the Dangerous Nights Crew would get together.

But somehow, someway, the Colts found themselves in the win column for the second time this season despite not scoring a touchdown. The defense put on an immaculate performance while the offense continues to be the Achilles heel of the roster.

Here’s a look at the studs and duds for the Colts in Week 5:

Colts make major changes to starting offensive line

The Colts made some major changes to the starting offensive line.

The Indianapolis Colts made major changes to the starting offensive line unit ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.

The main starting lineup included Matt Pryor at left tackle, Danny Pinter or Will Fries at right guard and Braden Smith at right tackle.

Here is the new starting offensive line, which includes major changes at those three positions, including a rookie third-round pick getting his first career start:

  • LT Bernhard Raimann
  • LG Quenton Nelson
  • C Ryan Kelly
  • RG Braden Smith
  • RT Matt Pryor

This is a major shake-up. The struggles at right guard and left tackle essentially forced the hands of the coaching staff to make this change.

Raimann was a third-round pick for the Colts in the 2022 NFL draft and even though he has limited experience as a starter throughout his entire football career at the position, he has the athleticism and movement skills to reach a high level at the position.

The move that puts Smith at right guard is interesting. He hasn’t played up to the typical standard he set at the position when he took over as the starter during his rookie season in 2018. Smith entered the league as a guard but impressed so much at right tackle that he spent his entire career up to this point at the position.

Pryor moves from left to right tackle, which might be a better move for him considering he has spent the majority of his career on the right side of the line.

We’ll see if this move has any positive impact on the offense, which entered this game as the lowest-scoring unit in the NFL, but something had to be done.

Stock report from Colts’ 24-17 loss to Titans in Week 4

Here is the stock report from the Colts’ 24-17 loss to the Titans in Week 4.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-2-1) came close to pulling off a comeback in Week 4 but couldn’t finish job, losing 24-17 to the Tennessee Titans (2-2) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts went down by 21 points early and then clawed their way back to make it a one-score game with a quarter-and-a-half left in the game. However, they failed to muster any signs of life offensively and couldn’t complete the comeback.

Between performance and usage, we can gather a lot of information about a player’s stock. While we know the stock for the big-name players like Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr., it’s the other pieces on the roster whose stock is likely to change the most throughout the season.

It’s important to remember that the stock report is fluid. A player whose stock fell in one week can rise the following week, and vice versa. It’s more about spotting trends and potential for the future based on what we saw in the game that week.

Here’s the stock report from the Colts’ upset victory over the Chiefs.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-1-1) were able to come away with a 20-17 upset victory Sunday over the Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

With their backs against the wall, the Colts got the job done. It was their first fourth-quarter comeback since the 2020 season with Philip Rivers. While they got some help from a costly penalty, the fight and fire finally showed up after two pretty rough outings to open the season.

Studs and duds from Colts’ upset win over Chiefs

Here are the studs and duds from the Colts’ upset win over the Chiefs.

Against all odds, the Indianapolis Colts (1-1-1) got their first win of the season in a 20-17 upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

It was a fantastic outing for the defense—the kind that presents some hope for the rest of the season. However, the offensive line is still struggling at an increasingly alarming rate.

The rookies came up big, and the Colts showed they can still get the job done as underdogs.

Here are the studs and duds from the shocking 20-17 win in Week 3:

Colts’ stock report following Week 2 loss to Jaguars

Taking stock in some Colts players after the Week 2 loss.

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1-1) strolled into TIAA Bank Field for a Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) only to come out the other end with even more question marks than before.

It was a poor performance all around. From the coaching to the production, it was a tough scene for a team that talked all offseason about getting revenge on the Jaguars, who ended their playoff hopes in 2021.
