Texas OL signee Malik Agbo to play in 2022 Polynesian Bowl

Texas signee Malik Agbo selected to prestigious Polynesian Bowl.

Another Texas signee will have a chance to partake in an All-American game to face off against the nation’s best before moving up to the next level.

Four-star offensive lineman Malik Agbo, was selected to play in the 2022 Polynesian Bowl. 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman, who is on the selection committee of the game, announced on Wednesday that Agbo was the latest addition to the absolutely loaded lineup of players.

Agbo will join players such as Jackson State commit Travis Hunter, USC commit Domani Jackson, and uncommitted five-star Harold Perkins among many other talented players as a participant.

In an interview with 247Sports, Agbo expressed his excitement for the game and what it means to him.

“It really means a lot,” said Agbo. “This is something I really look forward to, especially seeing guys from years past be part of something special like this.”

“It’s really big for me to be an all-American, especially being from Federal Way, and my high school Todd Beamer, where talent is very little, so I think it’s really cool for me and everyone that I’m close with too.”

The game is held in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will take place on Jan. 22.

The Auburn Tigers have a chance to land a talented offensive lineman.

Auburn has had poor offensive line play for several years now and one of the reasons why has been subpar recruiting. The Tigers will have a chance to inject some needed talent into the ground in four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo, who has Auburn as one of his top four schools.

Agbo included Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, and Miami in the final group.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Agbo is the No. 21 offensive tackle and No. 271 recruit overall in the 247Sports composite rankings and would be a major get for Auburn. Auburn currently has two commits along the offensive line for the 2022 class, 3-star offensive tackles Eston Harris Jr. and Drew Bobo.

Four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo announces top four schools, Texas makes the cut

One of the top offensive tackles in the 2022 recruiting class.

Texas has a chance to add major talent to help revamp their putrid offensive line.

With a group that had been struggling all season and was likely the weakest link on the team, Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood have a major rebuild ahead of them when it comes to the offensive line.

Texas is in contention for several sought-after offensive lineman in the 2022 class, such as Kelvin Banks and Devon Campbell, but fortunately learned on Sunday that they are among the final four of another highly touted prospect.

Four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo announced the final four schools left in his recruitment. He is expected to make a decision on Dec. 15 between Texas, Miami, Oklahoma, and Auburn.

Scouts are very high on Agbo, and 247Sports recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman raved about his potential and versatility.

Size to play tackle, strength to slide inside and play guard. Continuing to reshape his body and improving his athleticism. Has gotten by on his size but is developing more technique and looking more sound in his blocking.

Agbo is a player that could come in and play right away on a unit that needs to be upgraded to block for Bijan Robinson and whoever will be throwing passes to Xavier Worthy.

Oklahoma jumps Texas in recruiting rankings following Texas’ bumpy week in recruiting

Oklahoma steps ahead of the Texas Longhorns in recruiting after Texas loses two recruits in a one week span.

Recently, we spent an entire holiday predicated around being thankful for all of the things we do have. It’s a staunch reminder that sometimes we should be thankful simply because someone always has it worse.

That remains true in everything whether it’s real life and its day-to-day struggles or if you’re a college football fan. There’s always a program struggling worse than yours.

For the Oklahoma Sooners, this year hasn’t reached the highs they might have wanted, yet. They had a quarterback controversy and switch midseason, the offense has sputtered at multiple times, the head coach is the subject of rumors about a potential job opening, and yet, despite all of that the Sooners are 10-1 and one win away from going back to Arlington to defend their Big 12 crown.

Meanwhile, their biggest rivals lost to Kansas (yes, that Kansas) and are losing recruits during the middle of games.

2022 four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield chose to decommit from Texas during their season finale against Kansas State. The talented wide receiver committed to Texas during Alabama’s national title game in January when it was already known Steve Sarkisian would be taking over the Texas head coaching position.

Michigan State and Mel Tucker have impressed and kept the pressure on him regardless and it’s likely Michigan State’s future trajectory enticed Winfield more than Texas’s future. It seems that a mere formality at this point, that Winfield will be committing to the Spartans sooner rather than later.

With that decomittment, and the loss of another prospect in four-star running back Jamarion Miller flipping to Alabama, the Sooners have now stepped in front of Texas in 247Sports team rankings for recruiting. The Sooners are No.7 and the Longhorns are No.8. Oklahoma is still in contention for four or five more players in this class and have a shot to crack the top five in the team rankings.

A few of those prospects could end up becoming Red River recruiting battles when you consider the Sooners are in on five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell and four-star offensive linemen Malik Agbo. Sooners are trending up, coming off the heels of their excellent October, while their biggest rival is losing commits left and right.

It’s very easy to see how things have transpired this year and think things have been bad for Oklahoma but the reality is that it is not true. The Sooners have given the fans of the Crimson and Cream a lot of things to be thankful for because somewhere another program has it much worse right now.

These two 4-stars set dates for official visits to Florida

Two four-star 2022 recruits have set dates to officially visit Florida before they sign during the December early signing period.

Cyrus Moss, a top-25 recruit in the class of 2022, and Malik Agbo, a 2022 four-star offensive lineman, have set dates to officially visit Florida.

Moss told Swamp247 that he’ll be visiting UF on Sept. 18 against Alabama. Fellow defensive prospect Chris McClellan will also be visiting that weekend. It will be the first trip to Gainesville for the edge rusher, who will travel from Bishop Gorman High in Nevada. He previously planned to make an unofficial visit in July but was unable to.

Moss is expected to visit Alabama and Clemson after already using official visits to Oregon and Notre Dame. 247Sports currently has Oregon as the crystal ball projection but with low to medium confidence.

Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham has led the recruiting effort for Moss and shown him where he fits in the Gators scheme. Moss understands that he’d be playing a coveted position that Florida has seen good statistics from in years past. He plans on deciding closer to the December early signing period.

Agbo will be visiting Gainesville after Moss on Nov. 27 for the Florida State game, according to Swamp247. He listed Florida as one of his top five schools along with LSU, Miami, Arizona State and Oklahoma, but says that Texas is still in play. What makes this visit so crucial is that it’s scheduled just before Agbo plans on signing in December.

Agbo is the No. 24 offensive tackle nationally, according to 247Sports, and No. 7 overall in the state of Washington. He visited Miami and Oklahoma in June but will visit LSU and Arizona State in November, in addition to UF. A single crystal ball prediction has him going to LSU with low confidence, so his recruiting cycle appears far from complete.
