Four-star offensive lineman ranks Oklahoma in his top 12 schools

2022 four-star OT released his top 12 schools, OU makes the cut.

Another recruit released his top school list with the Oklahoma Sooners being in the mix. Malik Agbo of Todd Beamer High School (Washington) released the top 12 schools for recruitment. The Sooners were joined by the Texas Longhorns as the only other Big 12 school in contention.

Agbo would likely man the right tackle position once he stepped foot on the field in Norman. That is his best position at the next level. Agbo has yet to announce a visit to Oklahoma and early predictions seem to favor LSU over the Sooners and others.

Florida football makes cut for four-star OL’s top 12

The Florida Gators football program has made the top 12 for this four-star offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting class.

The work for Dan Mullen and his staff at Florida continues in terms of future recruiting classes. And on Friday, the program received some good news in terms of one of its targets.

Four-star offensive lineman Malik Agbo made a small update to his recruitment, cutting his list of 24 offers down to just his top 12 schools.

Among those 12 were the Florida Gators who are joined by LSU, Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, USC and Washington. Here is the message he posted on Twitter:

In addition to taking this next step and announcing his top 12 teams, Agbo also caught up with 247Sports to discuss those teams. He broke down each team and how they have been recruiting him, saying this about Florida:

Florida: “Florida has great academics and they will make sure you are treated like family. Coach (Dan) Mullen and coach (John) Hevsey and the whole coaching staff always make sure that you’re welcome and that you work hard every single day you are at the University of Florida in order to be where you want to be.”

Agbo is ranked as the No. 268 overall recruit, No. 30 offensive tackle and the No. 6 player in the state of Washington per the 247Sports rankings.

Texas Football Recruiting: Four-star OT Malik Agbo releases top 12 schools

News out of the Pacific NW came out in the form of four-star OT Malik Agbo. The No. 6 player from Washington released his top 12 schools.

A common theme over the past week in Texas recruiting has been the West Coast. Two players from Nevada were offered in the past week, while Lander Barton, the No. 1 player from Utah, was offered on Wednesday.

News out of the Pacific Northwest came to fruition in the form of four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo. The No. 6 player from Washington released his top 12 schools on Friday, and Texas made the cut.

Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and USC form the top 12, making Agbo one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. Four Pac-12 programs are still in the race; most players from Washington end up in the conference.

On the 247Sports composite, Agbo is the No. 256 player and No. 30 offensive tackle in the country. He spoke with 247Sports about his top 12, saying nothing but positive things about Texas.

“With the relationship I have built with coach (Steve) Sarkisian, it’s incredible how much we’ve got to see how each other do things and him being able to tell me all about the University of Texas is amazing.”

Offensive tackles Kelvin Banks, Devon Campbell and Kam Dewberry will remain a priority for Texas until they win or are out of the race. With how poor the offensive line class was during the 2021 cycle, Kyle Flood is looking to take multiple prospects, even if he wins his main battles.

Agbo would be the perfect example of another guy the Longhorns are willing to take. Depth is important but getting quality is how Flood will turn around Texas’ offensive line.

Texas Football Recruiting: Four-star OT Malik Agbo picks up offer

Four-star Malik Agbo was offered by UT on Monday. Coming out of Washington, Agbo is in the backyard of Sarkisian’s old recruiting grounds.

Texas’ presence along the West Coast has been evident since Steve Sarkisian took over as head coach. Continue reading “Texas Football Recruiting: Four-star OT Malik Agbo picks up offer”

Newly offered 4-star Wash. OT already building relationship with Ed Warinner

The LSU, Alabama and Oregon target shares his thoughts on Michigan football and relationship with Ed Warinner.

Sept. 1 was a big day for 2022 Bellevue (WA) Todd Beamer four-star offensive tackle Malik Agbo.

The nation’s No. 174 player according to the 247Sports Composite, Agbo found his phone blowing up on the very first day that college football coaches could initiate contact with recruits in the 2022 class. The very first message he got came from Ohio State’s Ryan Day, which suddenly made his recruitment feel very real.

But it wasn’t just the contact. He was also getting new offers from other schools that hadn’t extended at that point — Michigan being one of them.

“It was crazy and exhausting!” Agbo told WolverinesWire. “As soon as 12 o’clock hit, phone started blowing up and phone started actually glitching out and overheating so at one point, I was like, ‘Yeah, I have to take a break from this, man!’ But yeah, it was pretty fun, it was cool, too.”

Despite the offer just coming on Tuesday, Agbo had already been hearing from Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner, who’s been hammering home his track record with offensive linemen. As Wolverines fans know, four of his OL were drafted in 2020, with another forthcoming in now-departed right tackle Jalen Mayfield.

Naturally, that’s a bit that doesn’t escape Agbo’s radar, and he’s excited to be building a relationship with Warinner at this juncture.

“Yeah, he’s a great guy,” Agbo said. “From when we were talking and texting – he showed me some graphics about how many guys he sent to the NFL from Michigan. The program in general – we talked about all that good stuff. It’s pretty cool.”

It’ll be tough sledding in his recruitment, however.

While Washington and USC are Agbo’s dream schools — both of which he has offers from — he also has offers from Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee and LSU with LSU coming after him the hardest of anyone.

Agbo is intending on making his commitment on Early Signing Day in Dec. 2021, and he’s taking his time making sure he finds the right school for him.

“I’m really, where I’m gonna commit to, is finding a place where it felt that I belong there. Like I can be home and be loved by the fans and have a great college football town and all that good stuff.”

But why are schools so heavy after the 6-foot-6, 295-pound tackle? It’s not just his size, but also his demeanor on the football field.

“I consider myself to be a nasty, get down, dirty player and just get the job done!” Agbo said. “I’m gonna finish every play, I’m gonna play until the whistle blows. You’re gonna get 110% out of me every game.”
