Alabama-Texas A&M contest is set for primetime on CBS

Game time is set for the Crimson Tide vs. the Aggies.

The kickoff time has been set for the Alabama and Texas A&M matchup on Oct. 9. The contest between the two SEC West powers is set to be a night game at Kyle Field on CBS. Kickoff time is 7:00 pm CT.

Kyle Field is one of the toughest environments in all of college football, and Aggie nation will definitely be ready to host the Tide for a night game.

The Crimson Tide have not lost to Texas A&M since 2012 when Johnny Manziel led the Aggies past the Tide.

Alabama and Texas A&M were the two schools most people thought would contend to represent the SEC West in the SEC Championship Game this season. A&M recently lost to Arkansas, making it an uphill climb for the Aggies.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron prefers the later kickoff times

Coach Ed Orgeron likes the later kickoffs for games.

On Saturday the LSU Tigers will venture into Starkville, Mississippi, for an SEC clash with the Bulldogs. The kickoff time is set for 11:00 a.m. CDT, but is that a time that the head coach Ed Orgeron prefers?

“We have to like it,” Orgeron said. “It’s different. It’s challenging, but we’ve done well with 11 a.m. We’ve played in bowls at 11 a.m. and we get our team up. Our team does a good job. Me, personally, 2:30 or 6:30, I think there’s a better chance for the team to wake up, the crowd is more lively, but hey if we have to play at 11 then they have to play at 11, so can’t use it as an excuse.”

Depending on where the opposing team is coming from or where you are travelling to, the early kickoff can be a hassle. It all comes down to personal preference, I think fans like a later kickoff as well. This is the first time this season that the Tigers will kick off in the early slot. Last season the team lost to Missouri from the 11:00 a.m. slot and beat Arkansas later in the season.

The team needs to be ready to roll early for this game, they don’t want to head into week five against Auburn with a 2-2 record and 0-1 in SEC play if they can help it.

Kickoff time, TV information announced for Big 12 championship

On Wednesday, the Big 12 announced the championship game will kick off at 11 a.m. at AT&T Stadium. ABC will broadcast the event.

With nonconference play on the backburner, a lot of Big 12 teams will be excited to get the conference season underway. Baylor and Kansas kicked it off last week, with the Bears getting a convincing win to begin 1-0.

For Texas, a home game against Texas Tech is on the cards. It’s the first of an important four-game stretch that includes TCU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. If the Longhorns can somehow make it through with one loss, a Big 12 championship appearance may be within reach.

Of course, making it to Arlington is the No. 1 goal for every team this season. Before thinking about the College Football Playoff, winning your conference comes first.

With the regular season ending on Thanksgiving weekend, the Big 12 championship will take place on Dec. 4. On Wednesday, the conference announced it will kick off at 11 a.m. at AT&T Stadium. ABC will broadcast the event.

The Big 12 also released information about ticketing.

Tickets are priced at $205, $150, $95 and $65 each based upon location. Tickets may be purchased online only via SeatGeek at https://big12.us/3i564VW. Tickets will not be sold through the Big 12 Conference office or the AT&T Stadium Ticket Office.

Each participating university will be allotted approximately 7,000 tickets, which will become available upon qualification for the championship and distributed by the respective participants’ ticket office. Additionally, 1,000 student tickets at $50 each will be sold only through the participants’ ticket office.

Since the Big 12 brought back the championship game, Texas has only appeared one time. Oklahoma got revenge for the 2018 Red River Shootout loss.

Appearing at AT&T Stadium would be a major step forward under Year 1 of Steve Sarkisian. However, after watching Arkansas dominate all four quarters, a difficult task is ahead for Texas.

Big 12 announces early kickoff time for Texas’ road trip vs TCU

Texas’ Week 5 game against TCU will kick off at 11 a.m. in Fort Worth. It is just the third time the two will have an early game since 2012.

[mm-video type=video id=01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh playlist_id=01eqbz52bnpekkafqb player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh/01fg2d8r03zq4gpdpkfh-cbf679fa098b4e23bed890dc0200fbec.jpg]

Texas fans have been gifted with kickoff times so far this season. The season opener against Louisiana was at 3:30, while Arkansas and Rice have both been in the later window.

The run of good luck seems to have expired.

On Oct. 2, Texas’ Week 5 matchup against TCU will kick off at 11 a.m. CDT in Fort Worth. It is just the third time the two will have an early game since the Horned Frogs joined the conference in 2012.

When on the road, getting an early game is more beneficial. Especially at a venue like Amon G. Carter Stadium. TCU fans will still provide an incredible environment but everybody knows a night game makes for better atmospheres.

Baylor at Oklahoma State and Kansas at No. 15 Iowa State won out for the coveted late kickoffs. You can check out the Big 12’s full schedule here:

With Saturday’s game against Texas Tech also being an 11 a.m. kickoff, there is a chance Texas will have three straight early games. The Big 12/ESPN has not announced a time for the Red River Shootout but if we are going off history, 11 a.m. is likely.

Texas-Arkansas kickoff time, Red River Shootout TV information announced

ESPN announced the kickoff time for Texas’ premier nonconference game against Arkansas. Additionally, TX/OU will be on ABC/ESPN this season.

ESPN announced the kickoff time for Texas’ premier nonconference game against Arkansas on Tuesday.

The Longhorns and Razorbacks will get underway at 6 p.m. CST and be televised on ESPN. The old Southwest Conference rivals are meeting in Fayetteville for the first time since 2004 and wrapping up a home and home series that begun in 2008.

Additionally, Sept. 9’s Red River Shootout was announced to be on ABC/ESPN this season, not Fox. Texas and Oklahoma have played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas since 1932 but will be back on the ESPN airwaves for the first time since 2017.

The 2018 Big 12 Championship featured on ESPN but was played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

ESPN networks will welcome some of the biggest rivalries in the sport, including No. 21 Texas at Arkansas on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. on ESPN. No. 3 Oklahoma will be showcased in its two top rivalry games on ESPN networks this fall. The fifth-longest rivalry in college football history, the Red River Showdown against the Longhorns is set for Saturday, Oct. 9 in Dallas.

Competing against the Texas-Arkansas matchup will be Michigan-Washington on ABC. The Big Ten/Pac-12 matchup will kickoff 30 minutes later.

Kickoff time set for Notre Dame home finale

Last time Syracuse traveled to Notre Dame the Irish suffered an incredibly embarrassing loss. We now have a kickoff time for this visit.

Notre Dame has nine regular season games remaining and their final at Notre Dame Stadium for 2020 will happen the first Saturday in December when the Irish welcome Syracuse to South Bend for the first time since 2008, when the Orange upset the Fighting Irish on a forgettable afternoon for Irish fans.

Syracuse returns to Notre Dame Stadium on December 5 this year and on Tuesday an official kickoff time was announced.

2:30 p.m. ET it is for December 5.

Let’s hope this one won’t result in the student section throwing snow balls at the Notre Dame sideline in an embarrassing defeat.

Early season college football TV times announcements to be delayed

Usually we start finding out early season kickoff times about now. That isn’t the case as this week. Read the latest right here.

We’re 100 days until Week One of the college football season getting going and 93 days until a handful of games kick things off in Week Zero.  Usually it’s right about now we get our first reports of kickoff times for early season games but those remain to be determined because of COVID-19.

Earlier this week it was announced in a joint statement by all FBS conferences, CBS Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports and their affiliated partners that these announcements will be coming at a later date than we’re used to.

“Collectively, the conferences and television networks have agreed to an extension for determining college football’s early-season game times beyond the standard June 1 deadline. These kickoff times and network designations will be announced at a later date as we all continue to prepare for the college football season.”

No word was given on when we may find out more and there is clearly no guarantee that the 2020 season will actually be played, although I get the feeling from recent actions that it’s seeming more likely by the day.

It’s worth noting that all of Notre Dame’s home games on NBC have already been announced, as has the Navy game in Dublin. The first Notre Dame game-time we’re waiting to find out is the September 26 contest against Wake Forest in Charlotte.
