Notre Dame football offers massive Pennsylvania offensive tackle

The Irish go East for the latest offer

For [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] football, this weekend could be a massive one. They hosted a group of prospects along with getting some offers on Friday, and one out today.

The prospect that received an offer Saturday afternoon was Pennsylvania offensive tackle [autotag]Kevin Heywood[/autotag], who is absolutely massive. The lineman stands six-foot-seven-inches while weighing 295-pounds. He is literally a gigantic prospect, and as he enters his senior year next fall, there is potential that Heywood could grow even more.

It looks like offensive line coach [autotag]Harry Hiestand[/autotag] is leading the charge, while Heywood could play on either side of the ball. The guess is that head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and the Irish are recruiting him as a tackle.

Kevin Heywood talks Rutgers football offer, coach Walp and previews Penn State camp

Kevin Heywood was offered by Rutgers football last week and is at the Penn State camp this week.

Kevin Heywood emerged from the Rutgers football camp last week with an offer, giving him his first Power Five offer of his recruitment.

A 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle from Archbishop Wood (Warminster, PA), Heywood is likely to start pulling in some more offers in the coming weeks. He held a previous offer from UConn.

Archbishop Wood is historically one of the top programs in Pennsylvania and has sent several players to Rutgers football over the years. Last season, they went 5-5 playing a tough schedule.

Last month, Matt Walp, the former head coach at Archbishop Wood, joined the staff at Rutgers football, furthering the ties between the high school and the Big Ten program.

This weekend, Heywood will be at the Penn State football camp.

Check out what[autotag] Kevin Heywood[/autotag] had to say about his recruitment. He talks about getting his offer from Rutgers football and head coach Greg Schiano. He also gives an update on his recruitment as well as previewing this weekend’s Penn State football camp.

After Rutgers football camp, Kevin Heywood gets an offer

Sophomore offensive tackle Kevin Keywood pulled down a Rutgers football offer over the weekend.

Kevin Heywood pulled down an offer from Rutgers football this weekend as the Scarlet Knights look eager to continue their pipeline from Archbishop Wood.

A 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle, Heywood earned this offer from the Big Ten program following his performance at Saturday’s camp. For Heywood, it was the first Power Five offer of his recruitment.

His previous offer came from UConn, an independent program. He is a class of 2024 recruit.

There is a strong connection for Heywood with Rutgers football. Last month, his former head coach, Matt Walp, joined the Scarlet Knights as the director of player engagement.

Last week was a very busy one for Rutgers football, as they received three commitments, all from the tristate area (traditionally dubbed ‘The State of Rutgers’).
