Ringless Bengals make unoriginal joke ahead of Week 2 matchup vs. Chiefs

The #Bengals’ official Twitter account attempted to tease the #Chiefs ahead of Cincinnati’s Week 2 matchup against Kansas City.

Though the Kansas City Chiefs don’t typically goad their opponents before games, they constantly contend with trash talk online.

The Chiefs’ budding rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals always brings out a certain inferiority complex in the feline-themed franchise, which threw a sucker punch at the reigning Super Bowl champions on Twitter last night.

In their infinite wisdom, Cincinnati’s social media team made an unoriginal joke about Kansas City in an ill-advised attempt to poke the bear ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs.

In their post, the Bengals, who have never won a Super Bowl in their history, feigned incompetence relative to basic geography, which seems fitting given the team’s history of almost-unbelievable ineptitude and mediocrity.

For their part, Kansas City’s social media team didn’t respond to their ringless (and, to this point, winless) opponents, and decided to let their play do the talking.

Fans in the Buckeye State are encouraged to consult a map and crack open a history book (Kansas City, Missouri was founded before the state of Kansas) before kickoff on Sunday afternoon.

Bengals defender comments on his dislike for Chiefs before Week 2 clash

One Bengals player didn’t hold back when talking about the rivalry with the Chiefs.

The Cincinnati Bengals are going to see some familiar faces in Week 2 in the Kansas City Chiefs when they head to Arrowhead for what has become somewhat of a rivalry over the past few seasons.

Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, who is in his third season with the Bengals now, made his thoughts on Kansas City clear when he was asked on Wednesday about the upcoming matchup.

“I don’t like them,” Taylor-Britt said. “I don’t think I like a lot of teams, but we see them a lot. It didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to the last time. But playing those guys is always exciting.”

“I don’t shut up. I don’t shut up,” Taylor-Britt added when asked if he thinks there will be a lot of talking between the two teams during the game.

The Bengals are coming off of a bad loss to the New England Patriots in Cincinnati in Week 1, and to immediately have to come back against the back-to-back Super Bowl champions will certainly be a tough task, but the two teams have always found a way to make their games interesting.

Cincinnati took the first two of many matchups, beating the Chiefs late in the 2021-22 regular season by a field goal, and doing the same later that same month when Kansas City visited the Bengals for the AFC Championship game, which took the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1989.

Then the Bengals won again in the 2022-23 regular season, again by three points, but since then Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have got the better of them, winning the AFC Championship two years ago and beating the Jake Browning-led team last season by one possession.

But the game in Kansas City this weekend will certainly be one to pay attention to.

Bears defense stops Chiefs on 4th and 1

The #Chiefs vs #Bears final preseason game is progressing with Chicago’s defense making it hard for Kansas City to get down the field

The final preseason game for the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs is turning out to be intense for all the athletes looking to secure spots on their respective 53-man rosters after tonight.

The Chicago Bears defense has been on a roll, making the Chiefs work for their scoring drives and giving the Bears offense a chance to get a 20-7 lead to end the first half of the game.

Watch this footage shared on Twitter by the official NFL account where an early game drive by the Chiefs got stopped by the Bears when Kansas City attempted to get another first down at the 4th and 1 and was halted in place by Chicago’s defense.

Although the Chiefs aren’t playing their starters tonight, their talented backups are struggling to score on the Bears with many of Kansas City’s snaps ending for minimal yardage under pressure from Chicago. Watch for this competitive preseason game to heat up in the second half.

Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce to open 1587 Prime steakhouse in Kansas City

#Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will open a steakhouse called 1587 Prime in Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs’ superstar duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are teaming up again on a tasty new business venture. The Pro Bowlers will open a new upscale steakhouse called 1587 Prime in Kansas City, promoting an immersive and upscale dining experience.

The pair’s jersey numbers inspire the name. The restaurant is set to debut in 2025 inside Loews Hotel with street-level access and will span nearly 10,000 square feet across two floors. Mahomes and Kelce were frequent visitors to Noble 33’s restaurants, led by founders Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha, which sparked the partnership.

“Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities,” Mahomes said in a statement. “So it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City.”

1587 Prime will boast multiple private dining rooms, a world-class chef’s kitchen and a delicious meat display, including hyper-subtle nods to Mahomes’ and Kelce’s on-field accomplishments.

“We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience,” said Kelce in his statement, “and what better place to start than our very own Kansas City.”

The restaurant’s extensive wine collection, expected to be one of the largest in the state, has been meticulously curated to complement the menu’s diverse offerings.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, Kodiak donate 25,000 hot meals to Kansas City youth

#Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Kodiak donated 25,000 hot meals to young people in Kansas City.

The Kansas City Chiefs players and staff have continued to be involved in community support throughout the Kansas City area. The many off-season events and in-season contributions go beyond the play on the football field and are an excellent representation of the team caring about the city.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been one of the best examples of a player giving back to the fans and the many young kids who look up to him.

Kelce, in collaboration with Kodiak, a breakfast company known for its high-protein, whole-grain breakfast products, donated 25,000 meals to the children of Kansas City through Operation Breakthrough, an afterschool program for under-resourced youth, hundreds of families will receive hot breakfasts.

“Joining forces with my friends over at Kodiak to fuel the Operation Breakthrough families is a total privilege,” Travis stated in a press release, “Alongside Kodiak, a brand I love, we will be making a meaningful difference in the day-to-day life of hundreds of Kansas City kids, and I couldn’t be more excited to make this happen.”

The Pro Bowl tight end with the brand aims to fuel an active lifestyle and inspire more nutritious eating. Kelce and Kodiak are committed to getting kids up and outside to pursue adventure, starting with a hearty breakfast packed with protein and 100% whole grains.

“We are thrilled to work with Travis and an organization that is near and dear to his heart,” said Val Oswalt, CEO of Kodiak. “By providing nutritious breakfasts, we are giving kids what they need to be set up for success and ultimately pave the way for healthier futures.”

Kelce has worked closely with Operation Break, a nationally accredited, not-for-profit corporation that acts as a resource for parents in Kansas City on initiatives such as creating the Ignition Lab powered by his foundation Eighty-Seven & Running. “

Chiefs-Bills: How Drue Tranquill turned tide of entire instant classic

No Notre Dame fan is probably surprised by this…

The Bills-Chiefs rivalry has become a seemingly annual marquee event in the NFL playoffs.

Not only do the teams meet often in January, but when they do downright classic games seem to always play out.

Sunday night was no different. The two exchanged blows for the first three-plus quarters. Kansas City retook the lead, 27-24, early in the fourth quarter and Buffalo seemed headed for its turn with the lead again after Josh Allen ran for eight yards to open the possession.

But former Notre Dame star linebacker Drue Tranquill had different plans, and his next three plays changed the tide in the thriller.

With Buffalo facing a second-and-2, Tranquill blew through the line of scrimmage and stopped James Cook for a loss of three. Instead of third-and-short or a potential first down, the Bills were behind schedule facing a third-and-5.

Former Purdue star George Karlaftis batted away Allen’s third-down pass attempt, and the Bills blinked.

Buffalo called a fake punt when Kansas City had just 10 players on the field on fourth down. Despite being short-handed, Tranquill read the fake, took out two blockers and allowed Cole Christensen and Leo Chenal to stop Demar Hamlin after a gain of just two.

The game went from exciting to just downright crazy from there. A Kansas City fumble out of the end zone and another wide right field goal attempt from Buffalo would have been laughed out of a Hollywood script meeting.

At the end of the day, that 27-24 lead proved enough for the Chiefs as they head to the AFC Championship game yet again. And the 27 proved enough largely because of what Tranquill did to start the quarter.

Three bets and one parlay to make in the Eagles-Chiefs game

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) take on the Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) in a primetime Super Bowl rematch showdown on Monday night.

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) take on the Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) in a primetime Super Bowl rematch showdown on Monday night. Besides the many storylines surrounding this game all week, this may be quite a fun game to bet on since both teams are atop the NFL right now.

BetMGM has the Chiefs winning the game at (-150) odds, while the Eagles are (+125) underdogs. Check out great bets and a parlay ahead of the primetime matchup.

T. Kelce Anytime TD

I think even with Taylor Swift not at the game, Kelce is still going to find a way to score. This bet almost feels like a lock for the Chiefs each week, but particularly against their Super Bowl rival, Kelce is going to find the end zone at some point.

D. Smith Anytime TD

Because A.J. Brown thrived lately, the Chiefs are going to be scheming against stopping him. While Brown is (potentially) locked down, Hurts will have to look to his other unstoppable wide receiver, DeVonta Smith, for a touchdown during the game.

Over 45.5 Total Points

Let’s be real. This game will either be really back-and-forth or both defenses will show up to the plate. This over is certainly going to hit if it’s anything like the Super Bowl, where both teams put up at least 35+ points each.

Jenn’s Philly-Philly Parlay (+130, BetMGM)

J. Hurts 1+ Passing TDs

D. Swift O 44.5 Rushing Yards

A.J. Brown O 69.5 Receiving Yards

Chiefs S Justin Reid shows appreciation for Kansas City after missing wallet is returned

#Chiefs S Justin Reid shows appreciation for Kansas City after missing wallet is returned | from: @EdEastonJr

The Kansas City Chiefs are visiting the Meadowlands in New Jersey for Sunday night’s matchup with the New York Jets. One of their starters on defense will be traveling with less stress on his mind after a good samaritan assisted personally.

Chiefs safety Justin Reid is feeling relief as his missing wallet was returned on Friday by a local fan in Kansas City. The wallet was returned, with a note from the fan saying that their daughter Heidi was happy to have found it. Reid thanked the little girl via social media with a photo of her personalized letter.

“The folks here in Kansas City are amazing,” Reid said in a post on Twitter. “I lost my wallet last week (you guys know the feeling) and was this close to canceling and reordering the cards before I got the message that it was found. Thank you Heidi!”

Reid should have a clearer mind heading into Week 4, and it’s all thanks to the Kansas City community.
