Notre Dame WR commit Jaden Greathouse to visit Texas on Nov. 12

Texas’ staff is not giving up on Jaden Greathouse.

Four-star wide receiver Jaden Greathouse is set to take a visit to Texas on Nov. 12 for its matchup against TCU.

Greathouse committed to Notre Dame back in June but Texas’ staff is not giving up on the talented pass catcher.

The Westlake product is listed as the No. 33 wide receiver in the nation and a top 50 player in the state of Texas in the 247Sports composite rankings.

At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Greathouse already has a college ready physical frame. His unique size and athletism give him an advantage against most defensive backs he sees. Greathouse is a matchup nightmare in red zone and jump ball opportunities.

Greathouse has led Westlake to three-straight state titles and looking for a fourth this season. The Chaperails continue to be one of the best high school football programs in America.

Report: Notre Dame to host 2023 Georgia wide receiver next weekend

This heated up quickly

The Irish take to the road this weekend to face off against Syracuse, but when they return to play Clemson in South Bend next weekend, they’ll be not only hosting the Tigers but a prospect that each team covets.

Recently Georgia wide receiver [autotag]Khalil Barnes[/autotag] got an offer from [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and the Irish, with the recruitment heating up very quickly. According to a report from 247Sports Tom Loy, Barnes will on an official visit to Notre Dame as they host his perceived leader in their opponent, Clemson.

Barnes has already visited Purdue and Wake Forest over the summer, with his Clemson visit set up for later this month. The Irish will give him his first on-campus game-day experience and hopefully Freeman knocks it out of the park.

The Irish currently have some very solid verbal commitments with [autotag]Braylon James[/autotag], [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag], and [autotag]Rico Flores[/autotag]. It looks like Freeman and wide receivers coach [autotag]Chansi Stuckey[/autotag] would like to add a fourth member to his position group in the 2023 recruiting class.

Notre Dame misses on late rising athlete from Massachusetts

Losing Shipley still stings and now this

The Irish were early to find a potential gem in athlete [autotag]Ronan Hanafin[/autotag] out of Massachusetts. They were one of the first big powers to offer the most likely future wide receiver in November of last year. Other big time programs followed, including Alabama, Georgia, USC, LSU, Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Due to the early offer, many thought Hanafin was an Irish lean. An official visit in June of this year continued to fuel that belief. However, Hanafin announced on Tuesday his commitment to Clemson, taking another name off the board for [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] and the Irish.

Fortunately, the cupboard isn’t bare at the position; the Irish have commitments from [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag], [autotag]Braylon James[/autotag] and [autotag]Rico Flores[/autotag]. What this does mean is Freeman has to go back to the drawing board to find another receiver recruit if four in the 2023 class was the desired number. Time will tell if that is the case, but for now the Irish have three very good commitments for their current cycle.

Notre Dame atop 247Sports’ 2023 recruiting class rankings

What do you make of this?

With the verbal commitment from four-star receiver recruit [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag], Notre Dame strengthened its 2023 class further. In fact, 247Sports thinks very highly of what the Irish have done as far as talent coming in after this coming season. The site’s latest 2023 recruit rankings place Notre Dame at the very top. Its 17 four-star recruits are more than any other program, and five-star quarterback [autotag]CJ Carr[/autotag] makes this group even stronger.

It’s very interesting to see this happen when the Irish’s independence could be on borrowed time thanks to the potential mega-conferences coming to college football. If this group is able to put it all together to give the still-independent program its first national title since 1988, that changes the conversation drastically. From there, the Irish would be able to recruit even more big-name talent and remain relevant for years. Boy, wouldn’t this be the perfect way to silence some of these critics once and for all?

Jaden Greathouse commits to Notre Dame over Texas and others

Greathouse is the No. 17 wide receiver and No. 18 overall player in Texas in the 247Sports composite.

Jaden Greathouse is bound for South Bend, Indiana. On Friday, Greathouse announced his intention to further his athletic and academic career at Notre Dame.

The commitment is significant for Greathouse and Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman. Freeman is off to a fast start in recruiting and Greathouse is one of the many examples of increased talent acquisition at Notre Dame.

For Texas, the Austin Westlake product is somewhat of a loss. Steve Sarkisian and his staff presumably want to keep local products home. However, Texas receiver coach Brennan Marion is still primed to have one of the better wide receiver classes in school history this season.

Texas is hoping to add elite Longview wide receiver Jalen Hale to their already strong class with Johntay Cook, Ryan Nibblet, and Jonah Wilson.

Greathouse chose Notre Dame over Texas, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. He is the No. 17 wide receiver and No. 18 overall player in Texas in the 247Sports composite.

Notre Dame adds a dynamic wide receiver to 2023 recruiting class

The Irish add yet another big time playmaker to the ‘23 class

The Irish had been looking for another offensive playmaker and found their man this afternoon. Texas wide receiver [autotag]Jaden Greathouse[/autotag] verbally committed to Notre Dame and thus adding to their ever growing impressive 2023 recruiting class.

The six-foot-two-inch and 215-pound receiver chose the Irish over Oklahoma, Michigan, Oregon, Baylor, Texas, USC and others. Greathouse now becomes the highest ranked offensive prospect the Irish have committed, overtaking fellow Texan and soon to be position mate [autotag]Braylon James[/autotag]. Greathouse is the third commitment at his position, joining James and Californian [autotag]Rico Flores[/autotag]. He also becomes the 20th commitment of the class that looks to be almost complete before the season gets started.

Greathouse had been leaning towards committing to Notre Dame for quite some time and that finally came true today. Since there are only a few more spots remaining in the class, [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] now has the ability to become extremely picky as to who else will be added. It’s a great position to be in.

Five recruits who could be next in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class

These five additions would be big

The Irish recently have missed out on some of their bigger name prospects ([autotag]Carnell Tate[/autotag], [autotag]Jason Moore[/autotag], and [autotag]Dante Moore[/autotag]) but that won’t stop Marcus Freeman from continuing to add on to one of the best groups in the country. Classes are starting to fill up, but with 19 current commits, there are still plenty of prospects out there for Notre Dame. Here are five that could ultimately join this Irish class.
